I am a local resident for 50 years. There is no better food anywhere in the OC area. Order the ribs!

Well I have to say I am impressed with the prices. Being a local I heard it was a bit pricey. Totally not the case for breakfast. Very nice and efficient waiting staff. It is very clean and bright inside. My girlfriend said it was the best omelette she has had in her life.

We went here with our family and a small child who yells a lot. We had a fabulous, hard working waitress named Kristin. She was very thoughtful and brought the kiddos food out first and was attentive. I think I saw her carry about 10 trays of food out during the dinner rush — which did not look easy. That place was busy! Overall, the food was delicious. I had the seafood like soup thing — some kind of boil — and it was fantastic. This was a nice family place and I appreciated their service and delicious, quality food. If only I could live at the beach all year round… alas, will have to visit again soon. PROS: — Food is delicious — Huge menu — Kid friendly — lots of parking — easy to find — good value — nice people CONS: — Dinner rush was insane on a Saturday — get there before 5:30pm or after 7pm if you can, although our service was still top notch! It was just crowded. But hey that says a lot about the place! Thanks for a fun night!

Totally underwhelming experience compared to our last visit, which I gave great reviews about on another site. I thought going in at 5 before the crowds came was a good idea. I was wrong. Our waitress(Joanne C) had zero personality and spent most of our meal talking with a boss/manager in the server station. Our wings — the item we really enjoy here– were cold and had obviously been sitting in the window. Our food came out very quickly after the appetizer, which was annoying. I want to be a loyal customer when I’m in the area but the inconsistencies in food and service make me skeptical.

Leaving our Cape May vacation, we stopped here for a quick breakfast. Thankfully! This place is legit! Both my husband and I had the crab cakes Benedict and it was delicious! Lots of crab, little filling and amazing hollandaise sauce! Our three boys had chocolate chip pancakes and they were cooked perfectly. The place was clean, the service was fast and the food was excellent! So glad we stopped here for one last meal on our vacation. It was a great way to end our stay.

Starving on a Monday night and all«those» places are packed to overflowing. We stumbled into the Windjammer out of dumb luck, relieved we could be seated immediately, and left full, bordering on giddy and with lunch for the next day! What a great surprise gift from the universe. Food was surprisingly nuanced and PLENTIFUL. Service was wonderful and attentive. One regret: no room for dessert! Oh well we will be back.

The Windjammer is a family favorite. I have never had a bad meal here. My go to is the Chicken Parmesan, which tonight was exemplary. The portion was so large that I was hard pressed to finish half of it after devouring the freshest tastiest salad. Our server this time was Jo Ann who was great. It was the 2nd time this weekend that the family went there. Grade A really pleasant and family run.

Probably the best all-around, best value restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Somers Point area. Breakfast is excellent, they just overdue the home fried potatoes and should have hashed potatoes like Smity’s on the bay has. Service is excellent. We will be back.

good value, nice quality, creative options — huge menu. i have heard that they have kitchen staff turnover or something that contributes to inconsistency but i haven’t experienced that. i often wonder how Crab Trap can be packed and this place have open tables. from what i can tell, it’s better than Crab Trap. the people are nice as heck but service can be kind of slow/forgetful/inattentive. it’s annoying to continually have to borrow water from other people at your table because you have none. but, like i said — the food tastes good and your money goes a long way. PS — i have only gone here for dinners.

Rating 3.5 I came with my parents for breakfast this past Sunday aka Mother’s Day and had an enjoyable experience. The place was packed but we were seated right away which was nice. There was a limited menu which I’m not a huge fan of but I understand why they do that on holidays. My dad also asked when ordering if he could have fried eggs instead of the poached eggs that came with his meal and she said it shouldn’t be a problem but later returned and stated that they weren’t allowing any special orders. My mom and I ordered the frittata with a bagel as our bread which was tasty and a very large portion and my dad ordered the crab topped with poached eggs. I’d like to see more options besides a plain white bagel, toast or an english muffin, different varieties of bagels or muffins would be nice or maybe a side of pancakes. Overall our server was nice but I did feel rushed. She literally placed take out containers on our table before we barely touched our food. NOTCOOL. I’d try it again but definitely not on a holiday.

Excellent breakfast spot! I visited in the depth of the off season, and this place still had many tables occupied. The staff was really friendly. Coffee was poured promptly and warmed up regularly. I has the Mexican omelette. Excellent flavors, and fresh pico on top. No jarred salsa here. My daughter, not typically a breakfast person, had the cinnamon bun French toast and loved it. Great quality food and large portions. We took home half the French toast, and I didn’t eat again all day. I wish PA had diners like this: clean, great food, and friendly servers. Definitely worth the drive over from OC.

I will do a two part review here: food and service. What we ordered: Ahi Tuna Steak– seared, with a double order of steamed broccoli(double, because it replaced the mashed potatoes. Open faced beef sandwich with onion rings, broccoli and mashed potatoes. For dessert: key Lime Pie, Bavarian Vanilla Cake. What we were served, although my request for no mashed potatoes was ignored, everything else was as ordered– so, no big deal. However, my seared Tuna steak was over cooked and tough. The onion rings were inedible. The broccoli was very good, at least the parts that weren’t coved in mashed potatoes. Moving on to dessert: key lime pie, good, but quite pungent. Bavarian Vanilla Cake, LOL, WUT??? White cake drizzled with vanilla, copiously iced in whipped cream. Moving on… The service was weak, and the food quality did not match the $ 52 price tag. In fact, it left a lot to be desired.

I can’t quite comprehend how the Windjammer considers itself a diner, because it has so much more to offer. Came here with a large group of family on a Wednesday night in September, so basically off-season. As soon as we were walked in the place had a decent amount of people in it, but we were seated right away at a table for 8. Our waitress was nice and good, but you could tell she was stretched thin because it was the off-season, so my guess is they didn’t hire enough servers for that night. We had to wait probably 10 minutes for her to even come over to our table after we were seated, but after that I would say she was decently attentive to our needs. They serve you three kinds of bread; regular dinner rolls, banana bread, and a cinnamon-cheese bread. The cinnamon-cheese bread was almost like a dessert danish and so delicious, I couldn’t believe it was free! If we just got those alone, Dayenu. The french onion soup was good, but nothing spectacular. It was very cheesy, but the cheese was a bit underdone for my liking. For my main meal I got a 14oz Ribeye, which came with two sides(I got a baked potato and mashed potatoes), and this was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. The steak was cooked exactly how I asked, medium-rare, and very juicy and flavorful. The portion size was so big I couldn’t even finish half of it, a task I usually finish easily. The baked potato was perfectly salted and flavorful on the outside, although I had to make it myself. The mashed potatoes were also very good and came in a heaping portion size as well. I would say I was very satisfied with the food here, and the menu had many options I’d like to come back and try. The price I thought for the steak was a bit steep at $ 24 when compared to other restaurants, but with the portion size and all I guess it makes sense, maybe. Same thing with the other menu items, they all seemed like the price was a few dollars too high compared to other places in the area. I’m not quite sure why this restaurant considers itself a «diner», but that is really irrelevant, because it shines down the shore. Food(B+), Pricing(C-), Atmosphere(B), Service(B)

BEVERAGE… Iced tea was fresh brewed. STARTERS…Fried Calamari, greasy & chewy with an ill-prepared, medicinal marinara sauce. Clams Casino, touting Applewood smoked bacon… Where was it? Inside the pastey, oily mass atop the clam? MAIN Fried Seafood Trio, The fries were awesome, that’s the best I can say. The Red Snapper, fresh tasting & well prepared with alot of jumbo lump crab, the pile of bloated rice pilaf was not necessary nor was the ugly, watery corn on the cob. Summary…Industrial flavors, served in giant portions, apparently this is the secret because the place was packed. There’s no accounting for taste.

Well … Can you slow down and show that you care about the food your restaurant serves? Yes, the beginning of my rainy day Windjammer experience was a waitress who clearly could have cared less; it is one of the risks of arriving a wee bit late for the lunch rush when the wait staff either can enjoy the slower pace with new customers or showcase their day’s frustration. My lucky day … I got Ms Frustrated! Cool rainy day … Soup would be a good choice plus the«highly recommended» crab cake lunch special. Once I slowed my server’s rapid fire presentation of my accompaniment options I went for mashed and pickled beets. If you have not been to the Windjammer it is truly a beautiful restaurant with a well thought out seating plan providing comfort and privacy. It is a stone’s throw to Ocean City’s 9th Street Bridge with prices a few dollars less per plate then you will find in Ocean City. My Chicken and Rice soup arrived warm with very flaccid carrots. Boys and girls can we say flaccid together? Seriously, I expect some texture from veggies in any soup that I would label as good but these carrots were designed for denture wearers whose pearly whites had been left home in a glass on a bedroom dresser. My «all too attentive» server did know to wait for my soup to be finished before delivering the entrée. Pickled beets in a side dish … A clump of white mashers with a few parsley flakes taking up space alongside a plastic container of cocktail sauce and two nicely sized crab cakes. As the plate was placed before me … along the edges of the cakes were noticeable charred crumbs … Guess I was given the cakes no one paid attention to today. As for the eating … Mashed potatoes tasted like plain PLAIN real masked potatoes; a little butter, cream, or smashed garlic would have made them something more plus I really do always enjoy luke warm mashed potatoes like these because I am reminded of childhood days when mom put the meal on the table while I stayed in my room with headsets on listening to AM radio’s latest music hits! The pickled beets were in their own juices with some nice onions for texture. If you want a pickled taste these would not be on the top of your picking order but I still enjoyed them. The crab cakes were almost all crab; the very small amount of breading was not noticed except for the char overtones that the burnt edges brought to each cake. Still, these were good warmly presented C-R-A-B cakes and even with the slightly off taste I enjoyed them for their creaminess plus crab content. So, a misadventure today … During Somers Point Restaurant Week they were spot on during my visit but I did not Unilocal that day … So two stars but I am sure I will be back another day hoping for better service and a better meal.

Meh, it’s ok. Honestly judging from the décor it looks VERY nice and clean so I had high hopes for this place. However that’s the high point. I ordered the blackened salmon burger and my partner ordered the other dish pictured(forgot name). The salmon burger was doused in Tzatziki sauce which ruined the flavor of the salmon, which was very tiny compared to the huge bun they served it on. The coleslaw that accompanied it was also loaded with mayo. I’d recommend the chef to just cut back a bit on the sauce and mayo, it detracts and also overpowers the flavor of the main dishes. The fries were decent. The mashed potatoes were good and so was the steak(asked for medium rare, came out medium). Both my partner and I didn’t really finish our food, not sure if it was because just not feeling it, or the mayo loaded food didn’t appeal to us =/ The waitress was so unenthusiastic and seemed to be like a zombie(too early for Halloween) at the time. I understand you may hate your job, but please… don’t make me regret having you serve us either! lol All in all, its a nice clean place. If I do go back will def. try other dishes since the 2 we had didn’t impress us much.
