I have done a lot of work done over the years on various houses and this has been one of the best if not THE best company I have worked with. Many contractors are inconsistent which makes sites like Angie’s List and Unilocal so useful for the consumer. Initially this company was recommended by a friend and I did my due diligence and went online to do my research and there were lots of exemplary reviews so I engaged via their web site to see how responsive they were. Within hours of my initially inquiry I got a response back same day and set up a meet and greet to go over the scope of work I wanted done. These folks have a real passion for what they do and are very professional and personable.
I travel constantly for work/​pleasure and my yard has always suffered as a result. This year I decided I would fix that and wanted to start with a great design since my thumb is far from green. Even though my yard is very small Heidi and Kryssie arrived with a few different designs to completely revamp my yard. These designs were very professional, better than some home designs I’ve seen from architects. Included in these designs were also real pictures of all the plants they intended to use to give me a sense of the colors and styles. At first I was overwhelmed thinking my yard was too small to warrant much more than some napkin drawings, but after I reviewed them that evening with a few friends it really gave me a sense of what my outside space could look like.
One key qualities they possess is listening and understandingwhat the customer wants. I wanted my yard to stand out from it being of of the worse to being one of best in the neighborhood. The scope included a small basalt, multi tiered fountain with submerged pump and water reservoir coupled with an auto fill feature. Complete gut of the front yard with new plants that could be low maintenance yet gorgeous. Decorative privacy panels in the front yard to accent the curb appeal made with clear cedar and antiqued copper. Similar panels in the back yard to provide privacy ‘for hot tub and outdoor kitchen. Drip irrigation system to water entire yard and auto fill function for fountain. Ground cover along the narrow sides of the house. And finally some lighting to provide ambience at night for the entire house and yard.
These folks really know their supplies and did a great job of providing recommendations, examples and options to pick from. This was via a combination of methods, web sites, brochures, local companies and even a few guided tours. Also they were very efficient at managing sub contractors to make sure they were timely, doing quality work and on budget.
During this project several neighbors I hadn’t met stopped by and made inquiries about the work being done at my place. Seems everyone is always looking for a good landscape design company. To that end my home owners association posted a special notice about the work done to my house and invited everyone to stop by and enjoy the view of the excellent work. Everyday as parents walk their kids home for school or couples go for a walk people pause and enjoy my yard. Sure having a nice yard with curb appeal will help the valuation of my house, but the admiration from my neighborhood is even better. Mission accomplished.
I’d would recommend this company without reservation no matter the size of your yard or your budget.

Heidi and Kryssie of Sublime Garden Design designed and supervised the reconstruction of our 12-​year old, overgrown front yard. The result is a unique low maintenance landscape that has totally changed not only our yard but the entire look and lighting of our home. The closed, disjointed, and mature (a kind word for old) design and content has been replaced with an open and welcoming year long color explosion that makes the house feel wider and set back further from the street.
What made Sublime different from the others is the desire to work with you and not just for you. They brought their creativity as well as their ears and so we could see the potential yet not totally reject the existing good. We felt validated and informed through the whole process of design, options, material selection, and construction progress.
Now the front yard is the envy of the neighborhood. We have people stopping to look and seek details. In fact the construction crew noted that they never had so many people interrupt them during their labors to inquire about the design, the end goals, and so on.
This was a complete job. Not only was the land modified but the additions of a retaining wall, the bubbling fountain, planting pots, and the plants have created a harmonius welcome sign to everyone who passes by. Our Chinese neighbors have the noted the strong feng shui. Perhaps they are right. I find myself purposefully tracing the steps and paths and enjoying the energy in our vibrant front yard.

Four years ago, Heidi did landscape pots for my front and back decks. Words cannot express how beautiful these pots turned out! Not only was each pot a true work of art, they are incredibly low maintenance and durable throughout the year.
I receive compliments from anyone that comes to my front door and friends and visitors are amazed when they visit my back deck.
Several of my neighbors ended up using Heidi to do their landscape design’s and have all been thrilled with the outcome!
I would highly recommend Sublime Garden Design for any landscape project, big or small. Heidi is a pleasure to work with, incredibly Knowledgeable and changed my little world with her craft!

My backyard absolutely sucked. It looked like a white trash mobile home park that would have embarassed Erl on My Name is Erl. Enter Heidi Skievaski and Sublime Garden. I gave her minimal input (because I can’t visualize things) but told her I wanted a place that my 4 teenagers would want to hang out in, that my wife and I could entertain in, and would require low maintenance. She put together a design that included a wood firepit for the kids, a gas firepit and outdoor kitchen for the adults, and a hot tub for all of us. It is just a natural work of art that flows and has separate areas so different groups can use it simultaneously. I know it sounds expensive, and it did cost more than a slip and slide, but she worked with us to use the dirt from one area to fill in another, to select materials that were perfect but cost effective, and to negotiate with the contractor to get an honest price.
All I can say is I wish I did this years ago. The kids insist on bringing their friends over all the time and we grill several times a week, rain or shine, because of the covered kitchen area. It is amazing how you can have such an oasis in the middle of a neighborhood that once looked like a vacant lot.
Heidi is a master at picking the right plants for both beauty and timing. Everything blooms in sequence which enlongates the seasons. I can already see how the yard will mature and change over time as the plants grow and fill in. The mainenance is simple and easy. If only Heidi would organize my life as well as my yard.
