History

Established in 1983.

Beginnings in Seattle area with Historic Seattle’s Good Shepherd Center located in Wallingford. Gil Schieber, president, created this space from 1982 through 2007. During this time Gil-a maestro of the Seattle Tilth homesite was lead gardener, designer and educator for this Horticulturally rich site. As a half-time position, Gil developed his edible landscape business within the scope of his Horticulture degree. Personal favorites are Permacultural living systems-including animals, honeybees, and food gardens. Making habitat for humanity and creating «sanctuary». As a teacher for Master gardeners for 25 years, and former Lead Gardener of the UW Arboretum, Mr. Schieber hails from strong leadership, overseeing a small apprenticing crew, creating new young garden designers along the way. 400 gardens and 40 years of developing sites culminating with his latest project — a 7 acre Fruit, Vegetable CSA Farm-Snohomish, establishing a model mini-farm based on the Permaculture/Locavore movement.
