Love! Love! Love! The Family Tree Garden Center! First of all, the plants are just fabulous. I can get whatever I need each season for my yard and my kitchen window, but they also have unusual and interesting plants that I just get introduced to. Second and very important, the employees are absolutely the best! They are so knowledgeable — I can tell them what I am thinking about doing or ask them about a plant, and they make suggestions and give the most correct advice. And, just as important, the employees are so friendly and helpful — genuinely — they really seem to love their garden center and working with customers. Third, the greenhouse is spectacular. Just walking around in it makes you feel like you are in the best yard ever planted. In addition, there is an outside almost park-like place where you can walk around and enjoy the weather and get inspiration for your own home and yard. To make it even better, there is a great gift section. This is my go-to place for wedding, birthday, congratulation and hostess gifts. The selection is unique and so attractively displayed! And, finally, they always have fun and informative events. Their Holiday Open House is one I look forward to each year. They also have events that families can participate in and events that I can make a day out with my friends. One of the most interesting parts of the Garden Center is the Pete Pike Museum. How fascinating to see the history of the plant nursery business. Go! Go! Go! to The Family Tree Garden Center. You will find what you’re looking for and something special too every time!

I went here to look for a cherry blossom tree at(5:48 pm and they close at 6pm). I figured it was a quick«let me just see what they have and i’ll be out of their hair». I didn’t leave until 6:10 and didn’t have a tree in hand butttt the experience was great. Trung didn’t rush me but quickly asked what I was looking for in a tree and explained the different types of cherry blossoms they had in stock. I ended up choosing an american redbud tree because it fit my needs a bit better. They only had the 7 gallon for $ 59.99 in stock and that was a bit high for me. Trung offered to see if they could get the 5 gallon one and give me a call. The trees that I saw were priced around the same as home depot trees however they were better quality. Thicker trunks. I can’t wait to come back and pick my tree. ^_^. I also have a brown thumb and Trung said«keep your receipt, we have a 1 year warranty. Bring back your dead tree and we will give you a new one or a credit.» WHAT!!! love it!

Nice garden center with LOTS of variety to choose from. The layout is well planned, open aired, and pleasing to peruse. Prices are higher than the competing home chain stores but The Family Tree seems to offer better quality goods and service. It’s worth a look!

After the Pike Family sold the family empire, one of the Pike kids and her husband opened this beautiful, local, family business. In fact, you will almost always see Pete«Papa» Pike rolling up his sleeves and helping around the store. He looks like a proud grandfather who can play hard with the grandkids and give them back to go home and get a good night’s sleep! How cool it must be to see Dana and Jeff continuing the legacy he started so long ago. The Pikes have been a well loved and respected family in the Atlanta area for over 50 years. It would appear they hand picked their best employees from the current Pike stores to go «play in the dirt again» with the Pikes. I’m willing to drive from Cumming to support this local treasure. It’s a quintessential second generation family business… perfect.

Located in the old Pike Nursery location, the garden center is more than just plants and shrubs. Tons of things for the garden, bird feeders, wind chimes and accessories galore! Decent prices and a super nice and helpful staff!
