Service was good. We enjoyed the ambiance to watch the Atlanta Falcons lose another football game. Thank God the season is over. Great place to watch the game with kids and no cigarette smoke. We ordered the grilled wings … Awesome and had margaritas and good wine.

The overpriced guacamole was too salty, too small, and lacked any garlic. No, you didn’t fool me with the gigantic and heavy, but shallow mortar-like(molcajete) bowl you served it in. — not to mention that our experience being seated in the almost empty restaurant was annoying. Don’t you just love a passive-aggressive hostess on a power trip? Complementary chips and salsa were pretty good — reminded me of Chili’s.

Needs much improvement. Served rice that was obviously days old. No apology or offer to replace… waiter(loosely defined here) simply replied, «the kitchen said it wasn’t old.» After I inquired. Go to Los Bravos, Monterrey or even Taco Bell all within 2 miles. I’ll never go here again.

Great service and good food. I like this place because they are a UGA and Falcons bar. Too many spots in Atlanta don’t openly support the local team. I support Twisted Taco because they do. The Annie Oakley margarita is delicious!!!

I asked my boss what to expect when coming to Twisted Taco for a lunch outing and he simply said, «don’t get your hopes up.» I can say that not only did I not get my hopes up, I was still disappointed. This place is known for their Tacos, but I think I will forever remember the awful service I received. Our waitress actually had an attitude with our party of 15, which is never acceptable. If you have a large party, wouldn’t you want to be nice to them? After I placed an order, she actually delivered the wrong meal to me. Not really knowing the difference(I just ordered a chicken salad) she actually said the mistake of the order mix up was on me and not her because I did not speak up and let her know my meal was wrong. It also took an extra 10 minutes for her to fix my order. She did not charge me what I originally ordered, but instead charged me a more expensive salad. No apology, nothing. The food was just«ok.» I don’t think I will ever want to come back to Twisted Taco unless someone decided to pay for my meal. The biggest thing that bugged me was I don’t think there was any dressing on my salad. It was a total disappointment.

My family and I received a 10 off coupon so we gave it a try… Where do I start… the service is slow. we started off with chips and salsa and needed a refill, we had to ask 3 different servers for the refill, it finally came after our meal. My rice was crunchy and tasted old, they served us cold fries and had to ask for another order. The mahi mahi tacos have no taste at all, we had to add salt and lime… I would not return unless it was after the club, drunk and really hungry…

I have been here twice recently because of the karaōke on Thursdays which is the ONLY reason I will be going there. The food is just blah. Nothing remotely interesting. The tacos are really small and just not good. Service is also kind of slow. I will be going for karaōke on Thursdays but I will be eating before I go.

This is incarnation of Twisted Taco is fine, but lacks some of the charm of the midtown version. Décor is sort of a saloon/wester jail theme. Lots of TVs and TVs at the booths, which is good for kids and sports. Service is usually fine, but sometimes they get pretty busy(it’s a smaller restaurant so it will fill up without a lot of people) and your wait time will increase dramatically. Not great mexican food, but I do love the variety of tacos. I usually will order 3 different tacos to get a nice sampling. Chips and Queso are OK, but a bit oily which other Unilocalers have mentioned. If you’re craving some Tex-Mex, reasonably priced with TVs to stare at, this place will do.

I initally have been there in the past year or two. I arrived, I was seated promptly and diligently. The place was busy, but we were able to get a table for 3 in a matter of minutes. The waitress we had had a few bad spells where she didn’t pay attention for a short period of time then actually refilled our drinks, asked us how our food was all that. But, the main problem isn’t the service… The main problem is, and I don’t know if it is in any of the other locations, but when I got my food, it felt very lukewarm. It was the OK corral burrito which they tout as the biggest burrito on the menu, and I bit into it and it just felt cold and sloppy. not the first time that I have been there that the food was cold. I had to actually request the food to be reheated a previous time. Also I got the Zeroita which is a margerita with zero calorie mix in it. when I saw the glass and the hefty price tag(7.99) for such a small glass, I remarked to my companion that the drinks are a rip off and not all that good. I feel this place is more hype than it is actual substance. I can name 5 better tex mex resturants in a heartbeat than Twisted Taco. the one plus is that I am a hard of hearing individual, and I have to have close captioning everywhere I go, so I was pleased to see the TV next to my booth had a captioned TV which I was elated by. But overall the food isn’t that good, the drinks are just lackluster, and it does feel a little cramped. Go to either Taco Mac or La Parilla because those are much better choices.

Once again, the reviews havent always been good for Twisted Taco. I have gone twice, and think that it is a pretty cool place! The first time I got 2 tacos for take out and the waitress was nice enough to bring it to my car! I got the shrimp taco, and the crap-cake taco. The sauce is quite spicy, but it is still good! The next time I decided on the loaded queso. It is really good, since they put the cheese sauce and meat separately. The chips were hot, and crispy. The price is 8.50 which seems a litttle steep, but I thought it was great! Maybe my secret is that I usually go at the off-times, that way I get my order quicker, too.

Ok… really good thing is the patio. Their appetizer(some cheese, meat) dip.oily. Chips were good. Ordered Jake burrito… it was ok. Vanessa was waitress… dont like when I have to ask for more water, extra napkins or when they want me to handle their hot plates, instead of just coming over to me and setting it down or picking them up.

Meh. I came here because Dining Rewards said that they were in the program — I get airline miles. Wednesday night is «kids night» and so there were more of the little ones about than usual. Running and playing and riding an inflatable bucking bronco(yes, really), and finally, eating their nachos. Not the best environment, but hey, that’s kids night. I ordered one of their Original Margaritas while I looked over the menu. On the rocks, with a good amount of salt(not too much, not too little), it was not as strong as it could have been. It went down like a half glass of soda. For«seconds», I had a beer. «Twisted Brew» sounded like something I’d never had before, but fortunately the waitress warned me that it was a Busch Light sort of thing. Pass! The Red Hare was the fallback and that was good. They do have a nice list of beers, draft and bottled. As for the main, not so great. The rice was crunchy, the refried beans were bland and the three tacos I chose from their list of maybe 20 different types(Boom Boom Shrimp, Alaskan crab cakes and Greek) seemed to need more«stuff». I also realized later that she never asked me what kind of tortillas I wanted. These seemed like the same kind I could get from the bread aisle at the supermarket. Once the tacos were gone and I had eaten as much of the rice and beans as was possible, I finished off with the chips and salsa. I sort of liked the chips — they were quite thin and made for good scooping but the salsa was way too cold and had little spice to it. The manager did ask me if all was okay, but I just said yes. I’m just not one for throwing people or food under the bus. I can’t really say that I’ll be back to Twisted Taco.

I hope the comment cards we wrote up the other day actually made it to the general manager and owner. We had a party of 8 ladies on Thursday evening this week, and just had an awful time with the restaurant. Our server seemed like an idiot or was high, one of the two, or maybe even both. Took her 20 minutes just to take down half the table’s order, as she couldn’t manage to write it down properly. Then it took her over 20 minutes to bring out our pitcher of skinny margaritas, which I’ve had in the past at different Twisted Taco locations and loved, but these tasted chalky and absolutely disgusting… I wouldn’t even put it in the ballpark of a margarita. We all just suffered through and drank it, and got a regular pitcher after, which was much more enjoyable. My friend’s diet coke was messed up and instead of just believing her, the waitress tastes my friend’s drink, right at the table before taking it back and fixing the fountain in the back. During this time, our appetizer plates were sitting uncleared on the table; I had who knows how many empty glasses sitting in front of me, and it stayed that way the entire evening. One of our party ordered a second beer and it took over 45 minutes to receive it. Half way through our basket of chips, I discovered a piece of SIDEWALKCHALK in our food. The waitress was right by my table when I found it, grabbed it out of my hand and the basket of chips and left, muttering something about sorry, and then just taking off without even offering a discount or complimentary item. She didn’t even tell the manager on duty, which I think would have been appropriate, considering I found a foreign object in our food. We finally got our food and one of my tacos ended up being incredibly gritty and tasted like sand had been poured in it, and another of my friends had a taco that wasn’t fully cooked, and she only had two bites. I finally asked the hostess to speak with a manager, because I had a feeling asking our waitress wouldn’t have gotten it done, since she couldn’t even remember to bring out replacement chips. The front of house manager, Lauren I believe, came over to talk to us. Not a minute after she arrived at our table, our horrible waitress came over and stood by the table listening to me explain to the manager, standing there with her hands on her hips, all haughty and with disbelief! Every single person who was at our table has been a server, and we were just appalled by her reactions. After complaining about the food, the manager looked at the tab, once she realized that the skinny margaritas were a pitcher and not just a glass, she reneged on comping the margaritas. I looked at her and mentioned the chalk, and she then comped the pitcher and my separate glass of margarita. She then forced the waitress to leave and take care of the bill so I could tell her how horrible our service was. The manager then proceeded to tell me that the only reason our waitress(whom apparently had received multiple complaints) was still employed was because the location was short staffed and that they had to even keep on bad employees so they would have enough staff and that she herself had worked there for only 3 months and was promoted to front of house manager only recently. I wish I could suck at my job and get a manager position after only 3 months! We received our corrected tabs and were given comment cards to ensure that the GM and owner received word of our issues. After filling out the comment card, I was in the process of writing out my tab and applying the tip. Right after I was generous enough to give a more than decent tip for our crappy service and food, our waitress came over to me and told me, not very nicely, that if I had any problems I should come to her and not her manager and any more issues needed to be directed to her. I then took my generous tip and made it $ 2. My friend even commented later that she felt like she was being punk’d and was waiting for a camera crew to pop out. I am appalled by the service and quality at this restaurant. Every time I have been in this Twisted Taco location, I have had to complain, repeatedly. I thought Thursday night would be better, as my previous trips to this restaurant were not long after the opening, and I assumed things had gotten better. I guess not. Foreign objects in our food, terrible service, nasty food. How have you managed to continue to stay open? I’m officially done with this restaurant location, and so are all of my friends. Keep in mind this is just for the Smyrna location. I’ve been to most of the others, and enjoyed them, especially the one across from Perimeter Mall.

Didnt want to be ok with this place… they sell Sara Lee desserts(blah)…BUT they’re taco’s are a delight! I’ve recently enjoyed the carne asada & buffalo chicken. Everyone seems to dive into cheese dip, guac & chips/salsa…The burrito wraps are huge & smothered in cheese. 2 tacos for $ 7.99 + Side of rice & beans. Its so close to work how could i complain. One part i shouldn’t leave out is that they get busy… but the staff bust their tails to get it done. They’re always rushing but I’m always in&out in a timely manner despite their busy table load.

I hate to say it, because I really do want to support businesses in my area, but I probably will not be back. Since my first visit, I’ve come back several times and I really wanted to like this place as a fun hangout, have a few drinks and dinner with friends, but it’s just not working. I actually don’t have that big of an issue with the food as some other reviewers. The food — I think — is decent, not extraordinary, not the best taco I’ve ever had, but pretty good for what you pay. The problem: they are trying to be a cool hangout by having live music. HOWEVER, the acoustics in the place make that impossible. Once you have the live music going, you can not understand a single word anyone is saying. So, forget trying to have a conversation. Also, there tend to be a lot of children there, so it tends to get noisy inside. The last time I was there, they had moved the live music outside on the patio. It was a nice day, we wanted to sit outside. I have no issue with the live music. Then, the musicians decided to let several kids that were dining there sing songs karaōke-style. I guess if I had a child in music class and wanted a mini-recital that would be a really great experience. But for someone who just wanted to relax on a Sunday afternoon on the patio, eat some food and have some beers, I was really not in the mood for the child karaōke hour. We ended up having to move our dinner inside, because it was getting too disruptive. A warning or heads-up from the waitress would have been nice when we were first seated. I had a groupon/livingsocial/whatever-else-is-out-there deal for $ 40. I didn’t realize that this was not to be used on alcohol. How on earth do you spend $ 40 at Twisted Taco for 2 people not including alcohol??? Yeah, I ended up only getting $ 25 off. Not the restaurants fault, but still disappointing to me. So, after having 3 lackluster experiences there, I will likely not be back. Sorry…

Typical defrost, reheat, and serve crap that you find with chain restaurants. I went for a work lunch. However, at least you can get a decent burger sometimes at these joints. My burger was overcooked and dry as all hell. No ketchup and mustard on the table. C’mon. My colleague’s $ 9 quesadilla contained 3 small diced pieces of chicken and the rest was filled with cheese.

Twisted Taco has one the worst tacos I’ve eaten. The tacos disgusted me so much that I felt like puking. After I finished my tacos, I learned not to finish bad tasting food. I’m used to finishing everything on my plate, but I have to learn not to do that if the food tastes repulsive. I had their Philly, Baja, Down Home and Wild Alaskan tacos. The meats seemed over-battered. I could only taste the batter and none of the meat. Also, whatever crappy, greasy sauce they put in their tacos makes it taste wretched. Also, the tacos all came out lukewarm. The corn tortillas had a rubbery texture and didn’t have any flavor. Their rice and beans that came with the tacos tasted subpar as well. They didn’t wipe down our tables either. Luckily, it wasn’t too dirty. But it would’ve been nice if they did wipe it down to make it more presentable. Also, they must be short-staffed. There were no silverwares and people seemed extremely busy. What a mess. With a name like Twisted Taco, I would have expected some okay tasting tacos. Instead, I got some rubbery, watered-down, disgusting, and a hot mess of tacos. 1.5 stars.
