Had dinner here tonight on a whem. Drink specials were $ 5 absolut martinis. My husband and i both ordered a dirty absolut martini, they were both watered down… and as a bartender i hate saying that. To the food, food was average. I ordered the crab leg special and recieved a plastic fork to work with. which i broke on the first try. Our server april was 5 stars, super sweet girl. We may try again.

This is my lunch time spot! And I am now a member of the lunch-club, which gives me my 10th lunch special free! Pretty good lunch options but maybe they should offer a few healthier options for lunch like maybe a soup and salad for those who are a little more calorie and health conscious. Overall I am very pleased with finding this little hidden gem.

J. R crickets is an Atlanta classic. The wings are flavorful with the perfect combination of tenderness and crunch, they’re the perfect size(not huge like they’re pumped full of steroids, but also not small enough to anger you). My husband and I always get half hot and half lemon pepper with fries. And it’s always pretty darn tasty! Only issue I have is that they charge for blue cheese! Charging for blue cheese at a wing place? They’ve got to be making a killing. Anyway. Haven’t found better wings in Smyrna yet, so this is definitely our wing spot!

So convenient for lunch and the NFL games that I have to give it a thumbs up! The lunch specials are great! So much so that when the NFL season officially kicks off I will try them out for some viewing. I will update my review at that time.

The worst. It’s five in the afternoon, and they won’t even utilize the a/c they also gave us some plastic forks for crab legs NOMAM never again. She said… you do understand this is a sports bar this place will never get another dime from me.

Decent food for decent prices. Drink specials and plenty of tv’s. The bar stools are a little low. The women are friendly. Oh yeah.

I’m giving it a 3 stars. It was my first time here, the place is pretty dumpy looking. Could use a little renovations. The service is slow, it wasn’t busy at all. The food is good though, it surprised me given what the place looks like. The server took too long or else I would have ordered the funnel cake for dessert!

Fun and entertaining place, they had karaōke when I was there. Bartenders very generous with the drinks. Lots of old schooler like myself there. They play all the classics. I don’t know about the grub though?

Visited this JR Crickets on a Thursday evening after work, not a very large crowd at all, yet very relaxing and entertaining, they had the TVs going and the music playing. I love JR Crickets menu, I do love the wings here, and the fact that you can add on items like wing and shrimps for a few extra dollars is a PLUS! The fish is great also, fried to perfection. I was actually very impressed with the $ 5 drink menu, it wasn’t a bunch of bogus drinks, but a pretty good selection. I first order a tequila sunrise then finished the evening off with a long beach tea. The staff is always friendly and its a great place for happy hour and birthday parties.

Lemon pepper wings were normal size last week today they were extra small and cold. I had the waitress put them in the microwave. .fries was cold and there was only 2 other tables. .the only reason i have 4 stars was because of my server gi gi. .she great! !! If it wasn’t for her I’d give 2 stars because it’s crazy you have to pay 4 flavor and dressing..

Burn it!!! Burn it to the ground! This place is the worst! I literally just waited 40 minutes for 10 wings! Literally I could have gone to the store and cooked my own wings in 40 mins! To top it off they delivered my wings and told me there would be a little longer on my fries! Are you serious?! Awful awful ! I will not be back!

It’s not closed but the service is slow… myself and my roomie came out for a late wing fix when we realized that there was a JR Crickets in the neighborhood! We swung by and ordered wings for take out and while we waited we admired the drink & food special board for the week. We told ourselves we would come back UNTIL we received our order. The fries(which we ordered crispy) were stale and soft. My order was messed up so I waited an HOUR for my food. Once it came out the wings seemed undercooked. I literally just left there 10 minutes ago I’m not pleased at all. The bartender was an older woman and she seemed sincere with her apology. I may come back and I may not.

Love this place! Lemon Pepper wings are awesome. The servers(Sonya especially) are awesome. Drinks never got below ½ full. If you want a place to chill and watch the game then this is your spot.

Charging for dressing. blasphemy . I was here to watch the Atlanta Dream take on some other team. Sat at the bar and the waiter was very attentive. I order a goose and cranberry. It was one of their drink specials-$ 5 pretty good — 5 stars Ordered a 20 piece wings-Three mile island, fries and ranch dressing. Wings were great– I appreciate that they were actually hot! Perfectly cooked, decent sized Only drawback was that they charged me for the ranch dressing-$ 1.17 They also charged for the flavor as they only come mild medium or hot(lemon pepper, teriyaki, three mile was $ 1.00 extra I believe. I think that’s just uncalled for as with any wing order you expect the initial dressing to be apart of the package. That brings my entire experience down two stars. Will I go back. Probably not only because of the dressing charge. I guess I’m picky like that. But the food was decent so if you like good wings then go. Expect to pay for it through. Overall 2⁄5 chargin for dressing really irritated me!

Ummm. Yeah. I am realizing that the issue with Atlanta is that there is really so much choice and so much quality choice that it is really difficult for an average place not to get slammed. Ok does it have an extensive beer selection like Porter or Midtown and like 10 other places, no. But they do have Ying Yang on tap and the basic 6. This is an average place, not a bad place and not in anyway above quality. Pros are 100% the specials. Go for the specials. The drinks have decent liquor selection, relatively strong for $ 5 until 9pm on some nights. If you order something other than the special, you will not be impressed. I actually like the atmosphere. There are some very interesting folks to get to know. Yes older(35+), yes a little hype(rowdy) after fours hours of drinking, but that is entertaining to me. I missed karaōke because I left at 10:30pm and it still hadn’t started. Although parking was full(at 8pm) I was able to find a spot. I can imagine it gets dicey after 9pm though because most people were staying for the karaōke. For me, if you want to have a cheap drink in Smyrna, this is a decent place to do it.

This doesn’t even deserve 1 star! So where do I start… I thought this place would be good since we were waited on as soon as we sat down and got our drinks pretty quick. We ordered an appetizer that took too long to get here. We ordered the friend mushrooms which were very small mushrooms covered in batter! All you tasted was the fried batter. To make this short and awful it took forever to get our food once we ordered it.(It was on a Friday night but fairly late and it was not crowded) I ordered the chicken and waffles which I was told the waffle was pretty buttery and did not come with butter on top. Ok, so that may be better but when it came the waffle was super dry and they handed me two packets of store bough syrup, which in fact one had a hole at the bottom and leaked out somewhere because when I opened the packet there was no syrup in it. Ugh, the chicken wings were very dry as well. My husband got hot which it was liquid watery sauce instead of it sticking to the wings. Fries were cold and had no flavor at all! Service was awful, took forever and I was getting pretty tired of drinking watery coke. Anyway, I could go on forever and list hundreds of reasons not to come in but I’ll sum it up. During check out I paid with cash and she never brought by my actual change! Call me crazy and she probably rounded it off using her own tip money, but that’s not cool. You don’t just take change from your own tips and not bring back exact change! She didn’t bring the total amount receipt back for me to do the math so for all I know she could have added a tip and changed the amount and rounded off and brought that amount back. Either way it was crap and I could never find her to ask her what happened. This is unacceptable but not worth calling the manager for a few loose change. JUSTDON’T GO!

Le sigh, all I can say about J.R. Crickets in Smyrna is: Ratchet City. This place is a hot ass mess sometimes. From the audience who think they’re at The Showtime at the Apollo, the old ass women dropping it like it’s still hot, to the watered down drinks, this place can be a bit on the ratchet side. It’s great to get your laugh on at the the interesting atmosphere, but other than that there isn’t really any other point to visit this place.

The best thing going about JR Crickets is the special they have going on a particular evening. For example, for a minute the crab legs was $ 4.99 on fridays. Somewhere along the line they bumped up the price. Definitely an ok spot to just chill, kick back, have a beer and then go. Not a place to go put ya bid in. It invites an older crowd… not grown & sexy but old and messy. The wings are highly overrated. The service can be really suspect depending how many customers are there in the evening. It’s an ok local spot if you just feel like getting out for an hour or so. Grade: C
