Applebee’s

Do not come to this place! If I could give no stars I would! One is even too much, seriously! Everything about it is terrible to say the least! My family and I walked in and was seated immediately because the place was pretty much dead. I’m not from Smithfield so I don’t exactly know how good of an area this location is but as soon as we walked in there was a police officer standing guard who was not getting food or assisting anyone… kind of scary. We were glad we were sitting in front of him at least. Then about five minutes go by and a person who was not our waiter came and took our drink order and apologized… our drinks come and the guy who was supposed to be our waiter kept walking by us and literally ignoring we are there and wasn’t even busy (keep in mind the place was dead) and finally came over about twenty minutes after we got our drinks. We order, our food comes, and only THREE out of the FIVE people including myself, comes out! He messes up one of the orders and completely left out mine! Everyone was done eating by the time my food came out but I had enough time to eat because the waiter took forever giving the check. The food was horrible (I’m not a picky person) and overly spiced and was stuck to the sizzling plates they have from being about burnt. Wasn’t a lot of food either… and we never got any refills! Oh and to top it off, the manager I guess there had to call in front of everyone to the host to stay in his spot. This place is extremely unprofessional and was the worst experience I’ve ever been in a restaurant. Please do not waste your time going here… I’d recommend a McDonald’s near by than this place.

Good food, great service. We stopped on a trip for dinner and we where in and out quick and enjoyed the food which was hot and cooked correctly when it arrived to the table. The server was very polite and helpful. We would definitely stop to eat there again if ever in the area.

As bad as it gets. Pass this place by. BELOW standard for an Applebee’s location. The soup was luke warm, took way too long. Sloppy wait staff, (dirty aprons, etc)
Like I said… pass this place up.

Unfortunately we didn’t check Unilocal reviews before pulling in for dinner. The pictures in the menu teased with vibrant and colorful meals. When the lime chicken arrived there was no color at all. Just over grilled too dry chicken with dry rice and maybe two cranberries. The menu showed green apples covering the top of the chicken. The real thing had one tiny piece of apple sitting all alone hoping to suffice. The server was sweet and offered to take it back for more apples but I wasn’t chancing sending anything back after reading the Unilocal reviews while we were waiting for our meal to arrive. Our server did take five dollars off of the balance.

Not a great night. Long wait at door but there were plenty of open tables. Super long wait for food. When we finally got it we were told there was no silverware to be had and we were given plastic silverware to eat our steaks with. Overhead waitresses (who were standing around) saying that there was only one cook because one quit and one got fired) it was reflected in our experience. Will not be coming back any time soon.

Slow service. No silverware available when meal was served. Restaurant was only 20% occupied. They provided packages of plastic utensils and small paper napkin. Overall poor service. Can’t recommend.

If I could give no stars I would. My wife and I frequent Applebee’s all over often this is by far the worse. The food comes out cold when it does come out after an hr. The waitress was one of the worse ever. Didn’t remember order, had attitude and even proceeded to raise her voice at me.

Service so slow after 12 minutes I left — before even placing my order. Never will I go to Applebee’s again. I can’t believe I sat there so long without anyone other than the hostess who sat us at a table talking to us.

My brother and I went there late one night for dinner, since it was the only thing open that served decent food. Although it took about 5 minutes for our server to acknowledge us and ask what we wanted to drink, it was a pleasant experience, hot foods were hot and tasty, drinks refilled quickly, and my whiskey & Pepsi was mixed to perfection.

This is literally the worst damn Applebee’s I’ve every been to. The servers were drinking on the job and not even waiting on you. Took 30mins before I was even asked for drinks and appetizer. I ordered the spinach artichoke for my appetizer and it came out cold and the chips were stale, not even the worst part when I picked up the «salsa» that came with it, it was so dry that I put it upside down in the air and it didn’t even fall. That was it, I asked for my receipt cause I was just disgusted with the place and had a little server girl who rolled her eyes, walked to the bar area and talked so loud that I could hear her talk about how we didn’t even stay to order an entrée, how cheap I was apparently.
Tried to get in contact with the Store Manager, District Manager and got no replies. I tried over a dozen times, with their phone numbers to their emails.
This is a place everyone should avoid. What kind of restaurant allows their employees to drink on the job and treat customers like a P.O.S?!

They have improved a LOT of the past year. I use to avoid the Smithfield one because of crappy service and food in the past but I’ve been twice in the past few months (that’s a lot considering I don’t eat out often) and the food and service was great. Plus, both times the place was super busy!

As locals, we avoid this Applebees! We have yet to have a good experience here. Food is mediocre at best and I agree with a previous review that their menu seems more limited than other Applebees. Service has always been slow with each visit we’ve made even when we’ve gone to Applebees only for a sweet treat.

Confused, disorganized and slow! Much more limited menu than most… what do you mean you don’t serve baked potatoes and you only have one soup choice… If you pass this way keep driving!!!
