Michaels has got to be one of the best restaurants on the Northshore. When my boyfriend asked where I wanted to go for Valentines Day, I could only think of one place where I knew it would be delicious and that would be Michael’s in Slidell… can’t wait!

I haven’t been there in 5 years. It is on the other side of town. I somehow wonder how it manages to stay in business as we were one of two tables on a Tuesday with one person at the bar. The food was great.

The food was excellent!!! The drinks were excellent!!! My husband took me here for our 39 anniversary. Loved the atmosphere and décor. The staff is another story. Our waiter was very nice and had a good knowledge of the menu. We tried some of his recommendations and were pleased. Another waitress was fairly snooty and rude. we were not her table. I could see the bartender from my table and she was pissed off about something. We were sitting by the back door to a dock, I guess. There were several people out there(who obviously were employees or family of owners) that kept going in and out, extremely loud and apparently drunk. That is the only reason this place didn’t get a 5 star from me.

We went here for dinner the other night — looking for something nicer than a «chain» restaurant in the area. The service was great — the food was delicious — and the setting is fabulous(right on the canal and near the Lake)! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal — from the crabmeat and gouda soup to the grilled drum — YUM!

We had not been here in years. I don’t know why. This area of Slidell has had its ups and downs over the years with storms. A lot of the places on Pontchartrain never rebuilt. I had assumed Michael’s didn’t either but they did. And the food is as good as it was before. The waitstaff was excellent and, as it was not too busy yet, Michael had time to come out and walk the dining room himself ensuring everyone’s meals were up to snuff. You can dress up or down(well, not TOO far down), you’ll be comfortable either way. My husband had the prime rib special but I like to go for seafood, something different if possible. This night they had swordfish and it did NOT disappoint. Tho we didn’t this night, in the past we’d usually head over to the bar over to complete our evening. Just something about this place lends itself to that being a natural thing. If you’re looking to impress or BE impressed but stay JUST on THIS side of the lake, come here.

Don’t let the outside mislead you, looks like an old house on the outside but this is a very nice, classy restaurant inside. Had the turtle soup and the Shrimp Michael, both were great. Hostess wasn’t great but the service was very good. This is the nicest(non-chain) restaurant I’ve been to in the Slidell area.

Crabmeat Imperial and the Oyster Annadelle appetizers were delicious! Creative flavors with artichoke and oysters. Most entrees were under $ 18! I wish I lived in Slidell. I could see me here very often! Very nice views of the water from the restaurant, too.
