I have tried other Panda Express places before & the food & service is good. Not at this location. The place was dirty. No clean trays to put our food on. None of the tables were clean. Also I know people need to work but to hire someone who does not understand English is not good. My Husband & I shared a meal. We don’t eat alot. So, we asked several times for 2 plates & the woman did not understand anything we asked for. Such as plum sauce. She did not have a clue as to what we were talking about at all. We thought she was new but it was clear that she had a problem or just did not understand us at all. I’m a very patient lady but this was too irritating. Also it was not a real hot day. But the day before was & there was no a/c on! The place was so hot & stuffy. I have a problem with any store or place to eat blasting artic temps with the a/c. But this was crazy! They could have kept a door open at least! There is no outdoor seating at this location. The food was good but that’s about it. Oh, we did not even get our fortune cookies!

I enjoyed this panda express. The staff was great, the food was good, and the place was fairly clean.

Panda Express is great for a quick, savory and satisfyng meal. This location is a good size and it is always very clean. Chow mein with orange chicken and beijing beef is the best!

3:30pm First timer. A few folks eating. Place needed a walk-thru to clean off tables, clear trash and do a sweep. I was third in line for take-out orders. I ordered fresh vegetables and had to wait a few minutes because the pan was empty(that was okay). Main course was chicken and green beans(sparse on the chicken) and vegetable spring rolls(tasty). The main entrée station did not look very appealing aside from the sweet/sour chicken and the green/bean chicken. The egg roll station was also down to three pieces as well in each pan. Customer service was friendly. I do see a steady flow of business here often. Perhaps I need to go back during a busier time when the pans are all fresh and full? We’ll see.

It’s no wonder this place has an overall score of 2 ½ stars. It was still 45 minutes before they closed, people sitting there eating. They were nearly all out of food and told me they are done cooking for the night. Yeah I’ll never be back. Here’s you 1 star, hope it doesn’t help. CLICK

From walking in, everything was absolutely unacceptable. The trays to put your food on smelled like dirty humid wet cloth. I swear they wipe them with an old humid rag! Then there wasn’t ANYTHING ready to pick from. You had to wait«five minutes». Obviously longer than that(20 minutes). I got the 2 entrée with rice and chow mein. The rice was sticky and the chow mein was hard. Super al dente.

This place used to be my alternative for Chinese food but today I was very disappointed, took my family to this location for dinner & the guys serving the food were awful, they were counting the pieces of meat before handing us the plates like if we were asking for free food & everything tasted like old leftovers, SERIOUSLY! After all that We payed !!! Honestly I ‘ll never go back or either recommend it to friends.

I have had the worst experience because of the cashier there she was middle aged Asian women probably in her fifties with glasses and by far the rudest person I have ever met. If you want to be treated like garbage and get over charged(both by her) then come to this location and meet the meanest and rudest lady ever. Won’t be doing business with panda again!

It’s good consistent American-Chinese food at a good competitive price range. They offer newer choices periodically in entrees so this is a plus as well.

I must give props to Panda Express for having Chicken, kale, and brown rice! Even though I can cook this at home, I’m still excited that in case I get lazy I can find somethng a bit healthy at Panda Express!

Why do I always feel like Panda Express employees scrimp on the food? I order my meal, but they always seem to be annoyed when I ask for«red sauce» with my spring rolls(instead of taking the sweet-and-sour sauce that it usually comes with). Give me a break. The bathroom is kind of gross, too.

Even though Im here maybe once a month or so, the food is never as good as it should be. Being short or out of pretty much everything at 5:30PM is probably not a good thing. I only go here for convenience purposes but Id expect better.

I live close to this location and I like Panda as an alternative to the regular burger and fries lunch. I have been here many times. The food is not always fresh and hot, maybe due to the lack of volume that the store does, but it’s passable. My biggest complaint is the staff. They are supposed to be open until 10:00 but many times after 9:00 pm they are cleaning. If you ask for something they should have available they say that they have stopped cooking for the night. If i were the owner I would be pissed. Why bother staying open to serve customers until 10:00, close at 9:00 and let your staff clean after you are done cooking for the day. They were all sitting around inside watching the clock. I’ll go somewhere else and so should you.

It is what it is, and for what it is(that is, standard Cantonese-American fare) Panda Express is very good. The food is tasty, service is very fast and efficient, portions are generous and the price is reasonable. The food was fresh and hot(at least when I’ve been there during lunch rush) lightly seasoned so as to appeal to most palettes, the vegetables tender-crisp and just right. I just had a hearty meal of 2 sides, 2 entres and 1 egg roll for just $ 6.19. And i was in and carried out in less than 5 minutes. Being a fast food chain serving standardized Americanized Chinese, the cuisine is by it’s very nature uninspired. But for most people — like me – Americanized Chinese food is a guilty pleasure that we have to indulge sometimes, and Panda express does it VERY well. I heart Panda Express!

This location is ONE star better than the one located in Wilmette on Lake Ave. The reason for the extra star is they have HEAT on, during the winters! I can actually dine in here comfortably, instead of worrying about freezing my butt off in the restaurant. Only thing is their celery that they use for the black pepper chicken needs to be cooked more — it’s too crunchy — and not tasty.

This place is ok. The food seems over seasoned and doesnt taste as good as other Panda Expresses ive been to. In short, the noodles arent as tasty, the pepper chicken is all pepper, no chicken. And the teriyaki chicken seems to have a lot of cartillage in it… but that was my girlfriend’s food. For me, i just have the orange chicken, which isnt as «orangy» but its still good, same goes for the fried rice. All in all if your hungry, it gets the job done

I seriously don’t know how anybody can survive eating here with any degree of regularity. I went once because it was right off the highway, and my morbid curiosity got the best of me. Boy, did I ever regret that. The meal felt like licking a massive rock of salt. I’m pretty sure I have gout now.

The advent of this neighborhood chain gets my kids shrieking with delight for«Kung Fu Panda Express.» Orange chicken kiddie meals for all gets me out from having to cook and serve at home. Certainly a sanity saver. So what else to learn from this review other than my kids are going to grow up with high cholesterol and hypertension as well as poor food choices from a mother who leads a hectic daily life hanging from by a thread to keep her children in line? Well for one thing it’s not often that we eat here, but it allows for quality time and engagement with the kiddos. The setting is casual and the kids for the most part are behaved. The taste of this fast food Chinese is actually not so bad. I tend to stick with the dishes offering fresh veggies and try to stay away from stealing the kid’s chocolate cookie. I reserve this spot for dire emergencies and keep the trans fat at bay at least until next time. Seats, chairs, booths scattered about with room for singles and groups to sit. The place sits nestled between the Bollywood salon and Chase bank. The parking lot can get tight with cars in and out from busy Dempster street.

This location really«controls» their inventory. The food options are few and look like leftovers. I tried it several times but it was really bland and greasy. For $ 7 you get something inedible. I’ve switched to Hana Asian bistro in Skokie for great lunches for $ 8(includes soup and spring roll). What a difference!

Generally, I shudder at the thought of Americanized Chinese food, but I just can’t shake the deliciousness that is the Panda Express chow mein and mandarin chicken. The spring rolls and hot & sour soup are pretty tasty too. Often times, PEs are tiny spaces, but the store on Dempster is essentially PE mecca. Free parking lot, huge store, lots of dishes on display, ample seating, drink fountain, and SOCLEAN! Not to mention the friendly service. Obviously, this is no dining destination, but a cheap and tasty alternative to fake Chinese eats in the area. Remember, lots of chili sauce on the chow mein. Eat up!
