There used to be a coffee bar in Skaneateles that served breakfast and lunch and had a place for people to go and hang out in the mornings. That place closed. The Skaneateles Bakery seems to fill the space for the morning crowd nicely. They serve café kubal coffee, so serious coffee aficionados will not be disappointed! They make an assortment of specialty coffee drinks as well. In addition, they have great breakfast sandwiches(the egg/veggie/avocado on ciabatta is a great way to start the day!), and although I haven’t been for lunch, the menu selections(roasted beet salad) suggest the artisan experience you would expect from a bakery tucked into the heart of Skaneateles Village. If you are looking for a quick sweet treat, they have a mouth watering selection of donuts, muffins and pastries! It is a bit small inside and during peak times the line for people waiting for take out seems to get pretty cramped. I usually get my stuff to go and I always feel like I am either in the way of people trying to fix their coffees, or that I am waiting on top of people who are sitting down eating.

Exactly what I was looking for, my first time in Skan. Beautiful location just a walk from the lake. Cute shop. Awesome food and baked goods! I enjoyed a grilled sandwich with apple– can’t remember the name! Also am obsessed with the doughnuts. Perfect for me when I would leave my days student teaching at the school, to stop before my drive back to Cuse. Unfortunately, it is quite pricey for me.

5 stars for their frosted lemon cookie. Perfect cake/icing ratio, not overly sweet, and minor cake crumbling. i love these cookies in general so there was definitely some expectation when i purchased my treat and skaneateles bakery was on par. coffee and egg sandwiches are on the bucket list for future mid-morning trips!

This is my go-to place for coffee and breakfast options. Upbeat staff, great coffee, fast service with bistro quality food. Nice variety to please all. I’ve tried almost every item on both breakfast and lunch menu and have liked them all. Locally they are most coveted for their fresh homemade donuts and pastries.

Settled on Jordan St in Skaneateles right across from the very popular Dougs Fish Fry, Skaneateles Bakery is a must visit when in the village. Skaneateles Bakery uses high-quality, local ingredients to create both old-fashioned American baked goods and innovative, contemporary sandwiches. They have a little of everything, from fresh made delicious hot donuts, pastries, hot and cold sandwiches, to coffee, tea’s and fresh made smoothies. The fresh from the fryer donuts are my favorite. Their whoopie pies are amazing too. As most businesses in Skaneateles are, the bakery is a small place with maybe half a dozen 2 to 4 seat tables. Only a busy day or a weekend, the line can be out the door. The employees are friendly and try their best to get everyone served quickly and in a orderly fashion. Prices are more than fair and reasonable. Whether you want a cup of café kubal coffee and a donut on your way to work, a freshly made sandwich on home baked bread for lunch, or a snack anytime, Skaneateles is a definite must every time.

Delicious! My sister-in-law and I stopped here on the way to the Bijou Salon across the street. I needed my coffee fix! I only had their iced coffee, but it was delicious. Not at all watered down like some iced coffee(I’m looking at you, Dunkin). They also graciously put some of the simple syrup/liquid sugar in there for me. They also didn’t laugh at me when I told them how sweet I wanted it! Hot coffee is great unsweetened, but if it’s cold, it’s gotta be sweet. I also got a donut because I’m a sucker for a donut. Especially my favorite donut: cake donut with cinnamon/sugar. Which they had. OHMAN it was good. This seems like a pretty hoppin’ spot, and their menu of non-bakery items is definitely intriguing. Why 4 stars instead of 5? It’s a very small, quaint shop. Emphasis on small. When we were in there, all of the seats were occupied and there was no place to stand where we weren’t in the way. It was raining outside and the salon wasn’t open, so we had little choice but to go stand outside and try to find an awning to stand under. But I absolutely will be back. The coffee was great, the donut was AMAZING, and the staff were all very nice.

Good coffee, great donuts. Tasty baked goods. Friendly staff. Issues: Can be dirty inside, especially the service counters are always sticky and gummy because they need to be refinished. Kinda nasty and gray. Manager looked at me like I had six heads when I pointed out their shabby condition. Little bit expensive, especially sandwich food and soups. Takeout is much smaller than dine in portions, despite staff protests to the contrary, to the point of not being worth getting take out. Grilled cheese sandwich is WAAAYY too expensive to be made with American cheese. You’d expect cheddar or mozzarella or some wholesome real cheese at their prices.

A must visit when in lovely Skaneateles. Please be sure to grab some homemade donuts and a breakfast ciabatta sandwich. The line was long at 9 am on a Saturday but well worth the wait!

Sorry, I hate this place. They took over the previous bakery, made it look nicer, quintupled the prices and now produce pastries that are 1⁄10th as good. Prettier maybe, but far less than average in taste. I hate those stupid donut machines that all make the same mediocre donut. I see no reason to ever go back in, I’ve been disappointed every time with their soggy cookies, meh donuts and virtually tasteless confections.

I have only had the pleasure of visiting Skaneateles Bakery once, but what a pleasure it was. The food was superb(curried chicken salad sandwich and a cookie) and the service was warm and friendly. I hope we will get a Skaneateles Bakery in Rochester!(YES, it’s better than Wegman’s).

I got into town Friday and left on a Sunday — and yes I went here both Saturday and Sunday for breakfast! First, this place is very easy to find in the heart of the Village of Skaneateles and second I love to support hometown businesses! I have to add that on both mornings this place was hoppin’!!! Saturday morning I opted for the donuts — I chose the hot, fresh just dipped in cinnamon sugar deliciousness and the cake batter dipped in hot melted chocolate… OMG! Whaaaaaaat! I also opted for a Sparkling Clementine soda to go and walked across the street and ate down at a bench on the lake — what a beautiful view! Sunday morning I opted for the Blueberry Scone — everyone I spoke with talked about these scones — so I had to get one — even though every ounce of me was saying«get the donuts»! The Blueberry Scone was good, however, it was a bit dry, a little more so than what I typically like, but the blueberries were fresh and definitely placed all throughout the scone. I would definitely eat here again when in the area — I am sticking with those amazing donuts next time! They are probably some of the best I have ever had!!! Definitely stop in this little bakery when you are in the area, you will not be disappointed!

I do love the Skaneateles bakery! Always support your local bakeries and businesses!!! This place is conveniently located near the center of town so your never too far away from stopping on by! I love the BLT’S here! So tasty with a crispy bacon, their perfect! Add a freshly baked cookie and a cup of coffee and you have yourself the perfect little lunch for sure! I do like the fact you can enjoy your lunch and goodies in the bakery because they offer some seating inside! Skaneateles bakery gives you that comfort feeling you find around many lake and ocean side New England towns. I’m a fan, I’ll be stopping on back as soon as I possibly can when I’m up visiting the fingerlakes region!

Not much in the way of selection but the few things they do have are executed very well. My boyfriend and I both ordered egg sandwiches. Bread was fresh and tasty and eggs were cooked perfectly, some more options in the way of cheeses and toppings ie. mushrooms/peppers/onions would have been great. The coffee was just ok.

In one word — FANTASTIC. I love Skaneateles Bakery. From their amazing coffee to their delicious pastries/breakfast goodies, every single thing I have had here has been perfect. Some of my faves are the homemade pop tarts, raspberry brioche pastry, cinnamon rolls, and their egg sandwiches, which come on really delicious bread. Friendly service, great prices, and tasty snacks. The only negative is that it’s far too close to my house and I could gain way too much weight eating here too often!

Skan may not have a large city base, or a lot of options, but in finding this place, they have all the options I need. Went for breakfast and a walk about town. The Tanzanian Peaberry coffee was so good. My boyfriend had the chocolate chip muffin. He loves muffins and thought this one was great. I’m totally into doughnuts. Had the chocolate topped one, and it was okay. But I also got a cinnamon and sugar still warm. It was incredible, so good we got two more and ate them immediately. Caloric regret, but no regret from the tastebuds. Light flavor, crispy outside, cake inside. Incredible incredible doughnut that I watched them make in a 4 ft by 3 ft space in the front. Yum!

Awesome chocolate chip cookie and chocolate doughnut. Was so happy with these items on the way out of Skaneateles we got a home made pop tart, and although it actually tasted like a pop tart with real jelly I wouldn’t recommend that. I definitely want to go back and get more cookies and other items though :) The inside décor was very cute and bakery-ish.

Cute. They sell breakfast foods and lunch soup and sandwiches. A few tables provide a nice place to get coffee for a chat with friends. The blueberry muffin was ok, but lacked a little flavor. The blueberry scone was good but not as dry as you might expect a scone to be, so be aware of that if you go there for scones. They don’t sell loaves of bread. But they sell lots of muffins, scones, pasteries. Parking is street.

We ventured into Skaneateles Bakery on this, our first visit to Skaneateles, one Saturday morning. Wow, it was the highlight of our morning. You’re taken back in time first by the restored, old-town exterior, looking straight from Mayberry, then by the aromas of Saturday morning breakfast: a whiff of bacon, coffee, and baked goods. What a wonderful find! A «must visit» place if you’re in the area. There on display was array of tempting goodies, and not too many, so as to maintain peak freshness. There were homemade donuts(just like a cider mill might create at Halloween), the cakey-kind, with a dusting of your choice of sugar: powdered, cinnamon, or plain, or with a glaze of shiny chocolate. The smiley decorated cookies were delightfully placed, conveniently at kid’s eye level, with tiers of shortbread and a variety of pastries. There were cups of freshly squeezed orange juice, arranged appropriately in ice and water containers. I was given a sample of coffee before I ordered(I declare, I am a fuss budget) and it was splendid. Our treats were placed in a wax-paper lined basket and we fetched a seat by the window to gaze upon the loveliness of the pedestrian-friendly village, while we enjoyed every bite. The bakery was bustling with people of all ages: a small group of college-age students, little kids sporting leggings, jumping up and down with glee at the chocolate iced donuts with colorful sprinkles, dads and moms, big kids, little kids; this place is hopping and with good reason. Great homemade food, hot and fresh, served with unbeatably friendly and efficient style and flair.
