Stu Miller’s Pumpkin Patch

Small place but it’s plenty for small kids. There’s three kiddie rides. A jumpy house. Two different sized slides. Petting area (bunnies, goats and chickens). Lots of pumpkins.

I want to share my experience Saturday at the Stu Miller’s pumpkin patch in Simi Valley.
We have been going there for years. It has always been fun. This afternoon we went and there was a party going on… not a problem. I put my daughter (5) and grandson (almost 3) on a slide they have gone on the last 2 years. The kids from the party (10 – 12) ran up on them knocking them off the stairs. A woman came up and told the attendant basically to pull my kids out because they can’t make it up. I told her they could and told her what happened. She was nasty and disrespectful and blamed us. I got my ticket back and the attendant said it was his fault and he took the blame. She heard this, came back, got in my face and said, «It’s not our job to babysit your kid.» I was right there the whole time and never expected anyone to babysit my kid and told her that. I asked her name and she showed her tag and said, «It won’t help, I’m the manager.» When I said I would be contacting the main office she walked away and I never saw her again.

I went to the patch in Lancaster tonight and cannot thank you and the staff enough. This is the first review I have written and just wanted to express my gratitude. Seeing my child happy is a parents wish and she definitely was happy tonight. Thank you, thank you, thank you !

Took my kiddos here today to buy a couple pumpkins, but spent $ 40 on games and couldn’t buy a pumpkin. The rides are ridiculously expensive and if you want to go down the slide, be prepared to pay for every time your child wants to go down– absolutely insane.
It’s a shame because it’s a great location and could be such a cool tradition, they need to reduce their prices or just charge an entrance fee and let the kids enjoy themselves for an hour.

Complete waste of time and freakishly expensive. $ 1 to go down a jumper slider. Some pumpkins are mushy. Guys who take tickets from the kids never say thanks and actually never say much at all. So rude. Must have socks or buy them on site. How convenient. Save your cash and head over to Underwood.

I have never once written a bad review because I don’t want to be «that guy» but this was arguably the tree buying experience ever. We bought our tree at the Stu Millers in Lancaster and waited for 45 minutes for help with a tree. I flagged down 5 different people and each said they would be right with us but it never happened.
After selecting the tree on our own we finally went to pay for it and THEN somebody stepped in to make sure it was measured but it took another 30 minutes to pay for it.
No problem, people are busy, I get it. We decided to have it flocked and DO NOT get it flocked there! They flock the trees on the same area where they had all kinds of goats and livestock during their pumpkin patch a month earlier except they don’t clean the area out after it’s a petting zoo. We picked up our tree two days later when it was ready and when we got it home it smells like an animal pen from the fairgrounds. They didn’t bother to cut the bottom limbs and just brought it out wrapped in plastic.
I opened it up and was treated to brown dirty and urine smelling limbs on the carpet and the whole house doesn’t smell like a tree, it smells like goat urine and piss. We bought 5… yes 5 Christmas tree candles to burn and people tell us our house smells like a barn.
Sorry for the lengthy post but my kids don’t want to decorate the tree and I suspect anybody else getting their tree flocked there will have the same experience.
We will never ever buy a tree there again and will warn everybody else to do the same.

The management should be replaced.

I have been buying my Christmas trees from Stu Miller for nearly 10 years now. Every year, we pick a tree, and pay the ticket price with no questions and very little interaction. The young men who work the lot have always been very helpful and cheerful regardless of how many trees you ask to have taken out or turned around.
This year the prices seemed a little high so I asked the cashier, Laine, if there were any possible discounts that she could offer. She pointed to a sign to her left that stated they would match competitor prices. She also waved an ad from Lowe’s and stated the customer right before us used that particular ad and that we would need to bring in a physical copy for her to submit to management. We thanked her and decided to go to the nearest Lowe’s to see their ad. Their ad advertised the same tree for 40% cheaper! We would have just picked up the tree from Lowe’s but they were out of the height we were looking for. So when we returned to Stu Miller’s lot we found the tree we wanted, and presented the ad to Laine. She was almost insulted that we went to pick up the ad and then said she would need to call Lowe’s to see if they had any of the trees in stock. After calling she said she could not honor the deal as they were out of those trees. We were upset by the news, especially since she did not disclose this information and since it was not spelled out in writing on their post on the wall. She immediately turned extremely rude and slammed the window in our faces. She was very unprofessional, a liar, and rude (those are the nicest words I can use to describe Laine the cashier). I voiced my opinion to the company who has thus far decided to ignore my complaint. They are guilty of false advertisement and should pay the penalties for misrepresenting to their customers.
When I went to another lot to buy my Christmas tree I also discovered that Stu Miller was misrepresenting the height of their trees. They had tagged 8 – 9 feet on 7 – 8 feet trees, and so on. Doing this, they were able to charge more for the shorter trees. I ended up buying my tree from a local honest nursery for much cheaper.
I will never return to this lot and will be sure to inform everyone in my surroundings of their dishonesty and unprofessional behavior. This is NOT what Christmas is about!

DO NOT GO HERE TO BUY A CHRISTMAS TREE!!!
Unless you want your Christmas spirit ruined :(

I saw a tree I liked which had a price tag. When the tree was delivered to the register she said it would be an extra $ 30.
She was yelling at one of her employees in front of me for not advising me of the extra cost. I advised her he had no fault. He was not even there to help me choose the tree, poor guy was just helping deliver the tree to the register.
Worst Christmas tree shopping experience ever!!!

I am sorry to report that after 5 years of good service, the Stu Miller Christmas Tree lot misrepresented to us the cost of delivery on our 9 foot tree. When I went in on Sunday, December 1, 2013 I purchased a to be flocked 9″ noble tree. I paid for the tree, flocking, tree preservative, a disposal bag and delivery. The total cost was $ 196.73. I was told delivery was $ 27.00. When they delivered the tee on Monday, they sent one man for delivery and asked that I help bring in the tree. I am 70 years old and cannot lift a tree.
I have been buying from this same lot lover and over and each year had the tree delivered. Every year until this year the cost was $ 25.00. Now it is $ 27.00 which is fine but every year before lot sent two men. It was logical as the size of the tree would require tow men to set it up. I had to call my son to come over 15 minutes away to help the Stu Miller person.
When I called the lot, they told me I was informed of the need to help them. I was never informed of anything. When they called and told me they were delivering the tree they only wanted to know if someone would be home. I asked for and called their corporate number. They already had heard from their employee that told them she told me there was an additional charge for a second person of $ 17.00. That never happened. She lied to her manager. They choose not to refund our delivery charge and I choose never to buy a tree again from Stu Miller at any lot. They do not take care of their customers and would rather believe a lying employee. Consider that after spending nearly $ 197.00 for a tree, had she told me they needed a second person to help them I would have paid the extra $ 17.00. I will never buy from these people if only on principal. They should have refunded the delivery charge and salvage a customer. Poor business.

I love this place! The staff is wonderful and the attractions are great! I go every year with my kids! I would recommend this, two thumbs up!

Think mini festival (really mini) meets pumpkins and boom you have Stu MIller’s Pumpkin patch, soon to be Stu Miller’s Christmas Trees. The afternoon we were there it was buzzing with ton’s of families and little ones everywhere. Nestled among the pumpkins of every imaginable shape and size are kiddie rides and a petting zoo.
Hay bales and straw cover the entire grounds adding to the feel of Autumn and Halloween.
They sell tickets (.89 each) for the rides and the activities which vary in price. The petting zoo was 3 tickets per child and the parents can enter for free.
I think they had some basic food items too, but we did not partake. They also have picture ops scattered about. A large lot with ample parking staffed by attendants makes it easy and safe, if not a dusty, to get in and out.
If you are looking for variety and adding a bit of flare when picking up your pumpkin or just a place to have a bit of family friendly fun then this giant sized pumpkin patch is for you.
