Had no idea I needed a transmission on my 2008 Lexus ES350 until it failed. Always a bummer when you have to spend $ 3500-​$ 4000 on a new Tranny. (Evil necessities)
However, if I ever need another transmission (or know someone who does) without hesitation Leons Transmission (AwesomeDan and GenerousGina) are the people to go to for any of your transmission needs.
They are honest, upfront, very explanative and clear about what needs to be fixed and how it should be done right!
Love the 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. B.T.W.AAMCO is a rip off compared to Leons!
My Lexus runs better than when I bought it. Nice and strong. Gears are smooth and the timing is on point!

P. S. Thank you for having your mechanic test drive the car after 500 miles. He complimented me and said that he likes the car and runs LIKE A CHAMP!

I just don’t want this to happen to you.
I brought in my 05 Scion Xb with manual transmission to fix some grinding in fast downshifting from 3rd gear to 2nd.
They kept my car for TWO months and when I picked it up after they worked on it, that problem was gone but then it did not shift into reverse and it grinded from 5th to 4th.
Went back right away but instead of listening to what I had to say, the owner, Dan La Fleur started insulting me and calling me names.
I went to C&M Automotive in Simi Valley and asked them to fix it for me.
Rudy, the owner, opened it up and found out the 5th gear hub sleeve was installed upside-​down.
After C&M worked on my car, it shifted perfectly well.
At that stage I filed a case with Small Claim Court and the judge made Mr. Dan La Fleur refund the money I initially spent for the labor they charged me.
Please, DON’T GO THERE.

My Hondas transmission was slowly but surely dying. I was able to bring my car into Leo’s Transmission and have them put in a brand new one. Not only does my car run smoothly but they got it done in a timely and efficient manner. When you being your car to Leo’s they make you feel comfortable and like family.

STAY AWAY! DO NOT GO THERE! I paid $ 3K to get my transmission rebuilt there and I ended up taking it back 4X’s!!! He kept trying to tell me it was the computer in my car and my transmission was fine! BLASPHEMY! I am beyond livid and frustrated. I’ve had to take so much time off from work (new job, mind you) to try and have the issue resolved. HE CANNOT FIX IT AND I REFUSE TAKE IT BACK! The good news is that due to the warranty I was able to take my vehicle to the real franchise and they discovered two problems. One of them being a leak in the transmission AND a cable wasn’t properly adjusted Oh, and not only did I find out I was overcharged but he is incapable of fixing my vehicle. TAKE NOTE HE ISN’T AFFILIATED WITH THE «REAL» LEON’S TRANSMISSION FRANCHISE EITHER! Don’t be fooled by his old age and his glorified stories of running an ethical business! Do yourself a favor while saving some money… DO NOT GO THERE!!!

After the dealership gave me a 4-​digit quote to repair a transmission leak, I came to Leon’s for a second opinion. Since I had been scared into believing my car was about to explode, they squeezed my vehicle in that day for an estimate. It turned out to be a simple leak and was repaired within an hour for under $ 200. I am so thankful for the caring and quick service I received. What a relief! I have already referred Leon’s to my friends and family because I know they will get the same treatment.

Took my GMC Canyon to Leon’s transmission service in Simi Valley and the service was great. The owner, Daniel Lefleur was very helpful and courteous. He knows how to treat his customers so that they come back in the future. Daniel had the service done in a very timely manner and I was on the road. I would definitely recommend him to others.

We took our 10 year old Honda Odyssey with over 200,000 miles in… and we knew from the feel of the reverse that we probably needed a new transmission. Let’s face it… they’re expensive. However, Dan took the time to explain EVERY DETAIL of what our car needed and we did NOT feel like we were taken advantage of… we felt relieved that the crew at Leon’s took care of us. They provide a 24,000 mile warranty and they do very good work. And… they sent us a Thank You note about a week later to make sure we were still happy!

How this place has been open for so long is beyond me. About a year ago we took an old car in that was still driving but needed some transmission work — something just didn’t feel right…
Honest Leon’s told us it would be close to 3,000 to fix during their «free» diagnosis.
Lucky for us my partner decided to get a second opinion over at one of the major chain shops. Ended up getting the transmission working perfect again after a $ 150 transmission tune up! Saving us more than $ 2,800!
Save yourself the hassle, skip Leon’s all together and go somewhere else. Your wallet and your car will love you.

My 2008 Mustang GT had reached 75K miles and was in need of a new clutch. I usually do these jobs myself, but i’m at the point of my life where I make more per hour than the love of turning wrenches. I trusted Dan and his crew with my baby. I provided specialty clutch and oil and had them make the repairs. My car came back when they said and it runs perfect. a great job done with a very fair price. Thanks again Dan.
