Skiff’s Cakes

I got my wedding cake from Skiff’s. Not only were their prices lower than we expected but everything was delicious. We got white cake with lemon chiffon, chocolate cake with strawberry whip, and spice cake with cream cheese filling. Everyone was so impressed by the design and taste. Highly recommended!

Never disappoints!!! My kids Jaw theme birthday Cake was FANTASTIC!!! After years of having them make me cakes I trust them to work their magic! I usually go in with a general idea and then let these cake master use their talents to create something out of this world!

I can’t not rave enough about how amazing they are at this Bakery. It’s been my go to place for I hate to admit how many years. They recently did two specialty cakes for me and I can’t get over how well in detail, taste and presentation these cakes were. I called over the phone and it was like they had seen my same vision. I trust them so much to this day because they are simply amazing at there craft.

Tried the strawberry champagne, the mint chocolate and the cookie dough. Very moist and tasty.

This is an amazing bakery with great customer service! The owners Wendy and Steve are so sweet and they go above and beyond to make your cake exactly how you want it! I got a cake for my «Dirty 30» themed birthday and they were great! I couldn’t ask for better! They also have wonderful cupcakes and macaroons. I brought my friends in here and like me, they fell in love with the bakery! I will definitely be back for more treats! It is all thanks to their great owners!

I went to Skiff’s just four days before I needed a special order cake, after the plans I had to order a cake for my parents’ 50^th anniversary fell through. The clerk was extremely helpful, even after she said they usually require more time for a special order. She said they would get it done for me. I picked out a few cupcakes while I was there as well so I would know what to expect as far as how good the cake would be. All of them were delicious. When I returned to pick up the cake, it was perfect! It was beautifully done and far exceeded my expectations. The cake was a great success at our special family celebration. I again picked up a few more cupcakes to take to work, after I raved to my co-​workers how yummy they were. I highly recommend them for their great customer service and outstanding cakes and cupcakes. Time to go back and try some more

I placed a huge last minute order of gourmet cupcakes to be delivered through the owner Steve… (And ONLY based upon prior 5 star Unilocal reviews praising him for the most delicious bakery creations!!! So a shout out and huge thanks to all the customers who took the time to do that!!!) and OMGosh… I never expected the recipients of this sweet surprise delivery to be so full of NONSTOP compliments all day long that these were hands down the VERY best cupcakes they have ever tasted!!!
Steve, was so thoughtful in giving a mixed variety of filled cupcakes to allow something for everyone’s taste buds! And he made the delivery within the exact time frame he promised…(with little notice… sorry again about that Steve!).And each and every cupcake arrived in perfect condition… but still chilled…(NO melting mess of frosting with this pastry chef professional! lol!)
I will never dream of going anywhere but Skiff’s Cakes again for all of my bakery/​dessert needs! Thank you so much Steve, for such amazing service and the best cupcakes in town! You made everyone’s day and earned yourself a lot more business as a result of your absolutely scrumptious creations! 10 stars!!!

Every time I go in here, I’m always surprised at the amount of fresh items. And I mean it. no matter what time of day! My absolute favorite is the chocolate eclairs

My family has been using Skiff’s for years. Everyone gets their wedding cake, birthday cake, you name the celebration and Skiff’s is a part of it. Their cookies and cream filling is amazing! Love that they also have little goodies like cupcakes, tarts, etc. to grab on the go!

Always delicious fresh treats waiting to be discoverd. Fantastic service also. They are usually closed on Sunday but because Valentine’s day landed on a Sunday they opened for last minute treats. Awesome business!

The sweetest little local bakery, this is truly one of the best places to go to satisfy a sweets craving in Simi Valley. The customer service is absolutely incredible, with the employees taking your likes and dislikes and tastes into serious consideration before making any suggestions. It’s a tiny little store, with a very friendly atmosphere, and a delicious selection of little cakes, pastries, cheesecakes, eclairs, macarons, etc. I tried a macaron and a small carrot cake, and both were exceptionally tasty. The prices are very fair, and the experience itself more than satisfactory. I was very impressed to find such a delightful bakery in Simi Valley.

Last time we came in here we were a little disappointed with this bakery. The cake we ordered was very pretty but did not taste that great and it fell apart really easily. But the thing that we found really strange was, no congratulation on getting married from any of the employees. Sure we didn’t get the biggest or most expensive cake for our wedding. But seriously not even congratulations on your marriage. It just seems a little weird.

Customer service from beginning to end was beyond my expectations. In fact, after searching and visiting many other cake places, my husband and I were so happily impressed with Steve at Skiffs. We were becoming worried about our wedding cake experience being dull and business like, until we met Steve! He took such great care of us, and not only made us feel welcome, he made us feel like we were taking him on «our» journey, not ours on «the business», which was really reassuring about the kind of service we’d be getting, and he represents.
The cake testing was a good selection of cakes, fillings, and icings that came in a nice to-​go box so that we can take it home and taste more. Everything was delicious!
I showed Steve a couple pictures of my favorite wedding cakes I had saved to show him the look, feel, and theme I was going for. He totally understood it and showed us a huge selection of pictures of cakes they had done, all beautiful. The thing I really appreciated here too was the customization of the cakes. At first I was unsure about details and asked them to take creative control, but they assured me I’d be happier at least narrowing down fine details, and I’m so glad I did. They really go above and beyond to make sure the cake comes out exactly how you envision it, and make sure that the cake they make is one you’ll always smile at when looking back at pictures. I have to say, that is exactly what they delivered. An incredible, memorable cake.
My husband and I decided that we want to come back not only for Birthdays and other events but every year for our anniversary we want to get a small cake in the same design our wedding cake was. Thats how much we loved it at Skiffs.

**I posted 2 pictures for other Unilocalers to see. Mine is the alternating pink with white design tier, and white with silver tri-​dot tiers, with purple/​pink flowers. You cant tell from the pictures but they also added a Lustre pearly shine to the overall cake for a beautiful finish!

I ordered a cake this weekend and it looked great! I got my wedding cake from them 16 years ago when they were a tiny little place in Moorpark. Everything is delicious!

This bakery was a lonnnng drive for us — but we are so glad that we found it and made the trip! We knew that our wedding cake was going to be one of the areas where we had to save money, and Skiff’s had very reasonable prices. However, we weren’t expecting it to be the most cost effective option AND our favorite cake that we tried, too! Seriously, for the price you can’t do much better. I especially appreciated that, during the tasting, they give you a plate of 7 kinds of cake, next to 10 different piles of frosting, so you could mix and match and see which flavor combinations you like best. No other bakery that we’d been to did that! We ended up going with a yellow cake with chocolate frosting (yes… a chocolate frosted wedding cake! It was just the best frosting, period), as well as providing an assortment of cupcakes.
Skiff’s was also able to accommodate our design wishes perfectly — we had a ‘Legend of Zelda’ themed cake table, with the Hyrulean symbol in fondant on one of the cake tiers, and 8-​bit hearts and triforces topping the cupcakes. It looked better than we could’ve even envisioned! Thank you Skiff’s for the amazing wedding cake — it was one of the hits of the evening!

You can do no wrong with anything you order. Cupcakes and cookies are so delicious. My niece ordered desserts from Skiff’s for her wedding reception and so glad she did.

Skiff’s Cakes made our wedding cake and it was perfect! It was beautiful and it tasted great! We got may compliments. Even a week later, our leftover cake was still moist and delicious!
I highly recommend them! They were easy to work with and their cakes are delicious!

I ordered my daughters 3^rd birthday cake from here. It was so cute and tasted great. We got many complaints on the delicious cake. I will be ordering all my cakes from here going forward!

Wow, I’m extremely impressed with everything about Skiff’s Cakes. From the costumer service, the price is fair, the cakes were BEAUTIFUL and delicious!!! I had nothing but complements on the look and taste of the cakes and cupcakes. We ordered a two tier cake, a smash cake that was gluten free (which was light and really delicious for gluten free) and cupcakes. I highly recommend them and will definitely be going back.
I’ve always used Hansen’s cakes which used to be good years ago but have gone downhill in taste and texture and their costumer service is terrible.
