Useless and unfair. Mostly traffic court that steals money from citizens. Prejudice and bias. Waste of time and waste of taxpayers money.

I have to say that this place is hardly worth going to. I say this as a lawyer. I have had a few minor cases her in the past and now about all they do is traffic court. The clerks really don’t have any good idea on what they are doing. In fact you should not listen to what they say as I have heard them give absolutely wrong legal advice and descriptions as to what is going on with people’s cases. BEWARE DO NOT LISTEN TO WHAT THE CLERKS TELL YOU THEY ARE WRONG AND OR LYING TO YOU TO GET YOU TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE COURT/​COUNTY NOT YOU.

Much of what they do has been transferred to the county seat at Ventura, so good luck getting anything done. The people here, especially the clerks, are useless regarding giving you info, even regarding what form to fill out. Also, the self-​help room is staffed by people who don’t seem to be able to help. If there was ever a government facility that needed improvement, this is it.
I can’t talk about courtroom procedures, because all I’ve ever visited the courthouse for was filling out and filing paperwork. In this regard, it is sorely lacking.
