My 5 year old Dell Laptop started displaying a message that the hard drive was in imminent danger of dying. Dell wanted me to send it in and that it would take about 3 weeks for me to get it back. I took it to PC Joy and they were able to clone and replace the drive before it failed. The computer is now back and is running as well as ever with no data loss. The only nit I had was that it took longer than the original time estimate. But it was still MUCH cheaper and faster than sending it to Dell

Wow! Great job. I took an old rare industrial computer there and they fixed it the same day. Got our machine back up and running. Will be back for sure

It’s hard to get computer parts in the Conejo Valley, but this place is the real deal. They have stuff Fry’s doesn’t carry, and the staff is way more helpful and knowledgeable. If you need something obscure like a DB-9 modular adapter, this is the place to start. Also, if PC Joy doesn’t have something, they’ll order it, and usually have it the next day. That’s faster than Amazon Prime, a plus for me. Recommended for geeks and anyone else needing tech parts.

I have stopped there over the years for cables and parts. They are much less than most retailers. They have lots of old hard to find cables. The place resembles The TRW swap meet. Items stacked. Lots of old cool stuff. All computer geeks should visit :)

Don’t use them. I took my laptop there for what was supposed to be a simple replacement of a monitor screen. I got it back with the deeming function of monitor broken for good. A few days later the monitor stopped working all together. I took it back to them and the Asian girl claimed the piece of hardware that connects monitor to motherboard is broken, not by them but by the usual wear and tear process(exactly a few days after they worked on my computer, consider the odds), I was also lectured about the importance of backing up files without even being asked whether I usually do it or not; imagine taking your computer for a screen replacement and being warned about losing the data in your computer. While they were trying to prove their point by disassembling pieces in front of me and showing what was wrong with my computer, everything mysteriously started working again. I am happy that other than losing the deeming function of my laptop no other permanent damage has happened to my computer and my files dealing with these inexperienced unknowledgeable people. Technical matters apart these people seriously lack social skills, they don’t know how to talk to the costumers and they always looked stressed. The young guy who happened to be in charge of my computer acts like he is doing people a favor fixing their computer and while I was there waiting for my computer I could hear the conversations regarding lost items and other unhappy costumers. I won’t let these people fix my dog’s toy.
