Personalized Wedding and Portrait Photography, not the average approach to wedding and portrait photography. We work with couples, actors, families to design and customize photography just for you. We want to know who you are so that comes through in our photography.

History

Established in 2004.

I have been doing photography since High School. In 2004 I decided that I could help families get great pictures by starting Luminary Photo. Early on we decided that we wanted it to be a family business. We treat all of our customers and clients like family and the results speak for themselves. We love meeting new people and creating images that they will cherish for years. My wife is now an up and coming photographer herself and loves it when her shots are better than mine. Occasionally our twelve year old daughter gets into the mix and helps with the little kids. It truly is a family affair.

Having gotten started with photography some 20+ years ago in high school. Dave has had the opportunity to photograph Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Newman, Suzanne Sommers, Dick Van Dyke and many others. He works with bands to create compelling images for their albums.

Primarily he works with couples and families to create heirloom quality photographs that last forever. His love for computers made the switch to digital photography a breeze and shoots almost exclusively in the digital format.

For weddings and special events he creates packages that are affordable and desirable. He works on customizing packages for every budget.

There are some moments in life that should never be forgotten. If you can remember those moments in vivid detail without the aid of photographs, you are lucky. The rest of us need them to be captured to jog the memory and recall the emotions of the moment.
Luminary Photo are superb experts who I have turned to several times. They shot my wedding a couple years ago and most recently helped my family record a huge milestone: my pregnancy and our precious newborn son.
They are always professional. But beyond that, they feel like friends. They put us at ease and capture photos so touching and beautiful I can hardly believe it’s us in the pictures! It’s such a pleasure working with Luminary Photo that we are scheduling a session to photograph our extended family. I expect those photos will be impeccable, too, like all of their work.

I had Dave Alton of Luminary Photo do my head shots for me. He came to my place of business and did a complete set up with background and lights. He knows how to position your body to get the your best picture. I had him do 3 different head shots and I love all of them. He knows how to make getting your picture taken fun. Most EPIC photographer ever!!! We had Dave come and shoot our fitness business today and has the most incredible experience, and I know we will get some fabulous photos. Not only was he responsible, artistic, and professional, but his great personality helped him relate to all of our clients. I needed some headshots done and used Luminary Photo. Dave Alton, the photographer, is so talented. The lighting was perfect. He must of done some touching up to the final shots because I really don’t look that nice in person hehe. I am so happy with my pictures. Choosing the right professional to help you tell that story can make all the difference in the world. It isn’t just the art of capturing your brand in pixels… It’s the ability to do that without completely turning your business upside down when the shoot has to occur during business hours, there are cars in the shop and work to be done, in order to accomplish its goals.
We chose Dave and Luminary Photo and couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with our choice. He was prompt, efficient, unobtrucive, cooperative and funny: in other words, a joy to work with.

We have a family picture session done at our house. We chose doing it at our house hoping that we will get more natural pictures of our 20 month old son.
Also, we wanted something different than the cookie-​cutter like photos from the department store photo studio.
Dave is a pro. He was very responsive. Very flexible and easy to work with. He did everything he said he would do. So no bad surprises. He was at our house for a full hour. (much better value than the 20 minutes photo session at the store plus waiting time and having the feeling being rushed out because they are running late with the next appointment.) We took our time and it made a big difference! I am so glad we went with a in-​home photo session with a professional photographer.
