Hertz Rent A Car

Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had in my life. We usually go through enterprise rentals, but was suggested by our agent to go through Hertz as they are a little less expensive and could possibly accommodate larger car for match rate. Called and spoke with a representative Mike who seemed very professional made arrangements for Tuesday to pick up car. All good so far, had a driver pick me up from auto body shop who at first glance does not look professional wearing shorts, t-​shirt and some casual loafers. Met with agent there who explained that original car agreed on had received a chip in windshield and would not be available so would give me sonata. Much more narrow in the back I have three kids and explained that, when making original accommodations. As I was pressed for time decided to go forth and take it as I needed to go pick up my kids from school. As I sat in car the worst smell of cigarettes came through vents, turn off AC in 90 degree heat and still had constant smell in seats and car. We are not a family of smokers left me with huge headache and daughter who has asthma could not even get through 5 minute drive without feeling sick. I called the Hertz after picking all of my kids up explain the issue, he apologized and said to come in before 6pm to exchange car and would see what had available. I return around 3:45 to take care of before busy night of driving kids to activities (gymnastics, etc.) and no one there door locked and man who gave me ride was outside and explained they would be back in 25 minutes. The agent had left to pick up client. That man speaking was the same one who had picked me up from auto shop. I take it he doesn’t work there or not sure what the arrangement was. I left again driving in this smelly car and return at 5:30pm right before my kids next class and dealt with manager Eddy. Walked in and explained issue, that I had return a second time, and that my son found foul language written in back seat as he read back to me F**k your couch. He said sorry about that, asked me to smell new car to make sure no issues, I told him he should do that before any customer drives off to make sure clean. He said he was stuffed up and couldn’t really smell anything. I asked you don’t smell the difference, he differed to comment as he could see I was already beyond bothered. Also when there a client came in to inquire about next day rental and a man sitting behind counter (man in shorts and t-​shirt) answered you’ll need to ask him. Needless to say I want my car back so I can return this car a Kia (even more narrow) and NEVER EVER GO BACK… Will also be sending message to cooperate !

I rented a car from hertz at this location and at the end I ended up getting billed way extra because one of there employees told me the wrong information and told me the wrong hours of business so I had to keep the car another extra day and a half which I did not want because I knew this was gonna happen and I called the hertz billing/​relations number and explained the situation and they said there valid charges because the contract did not close until this morning, I told her no kidding smart one I was trying to close it on Saturday but because one of there employees gave me the wrong information im now stuck paying for there mistakes she said your not getting your money back I said thanks for nothing and hanged up. I liked this location because I had rented before with them but now I’m taking my business elsewhere where they don’t rob you of your money complete bull.

Nothing special, a little understaffed, but good customer service when I was finally helped.

Lost my business. They refused to rent me a car because I had a 90-​day extension on paper from the DMV while my renewed driver license comes in the mail. I showed both the old license and the extention but they wouldn’t budge, nor would they call the DMV to verify.
Avis was happy to accomodate me and rented me a car.

They again reminded me why I’m an Avis loyalist. I stopped using Hertz about two years ago, largely to customer service. This is my fourth rental from this location, and three of the four have had issues. Eddie, though, is really great, and he truly cares about you being happy. That tells me it’s a Hertz issue, not a Simi Valley issue. Issue this time? I got my van and it was filthy. Not like needed a wash filthy — it’s LA; smog will dirty up a car in a heartbeat — no, this had chip bags and Cheetos on the floor, in the seats… So, Eddie apologized profusely and hopped in the car to run it to the car wash. All seems ok after that. It’s just a pain, Ya know?

Just had to get another rental. Again, Eddy helped me and he was just as helpful as the first time. The other employee, I can’t remember his name, also was really nice and he asked me multiple times if I was okay or needed anything since I was there following an accident.
My car was spotless even though it was pouring rain, I was in and out of the office in about 10 minutes. I got the waiver again and couldn’t be happier. Props to these guys. I’ll be back any time I need it.

We leased a 12 seat van from the Simi Valley location and it was a wonderful experience. The manager at this location was very efficient, obliging and professional. The van was used by the Royal High School football coaches to travel to the high school 1^st round CIF playoff game. Please check
for the show of appreciation and it is wonderful when organizations in the local community realize that the school sports are truly in need of their support to enable them to function. Thank you Hertz!

Great experience! Especially with the manager. I had to rent a car for an airport out of state and he took care of everything. Answered all my questions and was very curious and polite. Will definitely be renting from them again.

This branch came through for me in a really tight situation. During a busy holiday rush when other local branches couldn’t accommodate, I called Hertz and the manager worked out getting me the car I needed within an hour.
Excellent customer service and a personable staff will keep me coming back for sure.

Don’t use this company to rent a car. I have rented several cars in the past two years and decided to try Hertz and I regret it! Awful customer service. They don’t check cars before renting them out. Gave me a car that made awful noises when braking. Called to explain the problem and the guy was rude. Didn’t offer a new car but offered road side assistance. This just a few hours after renting it.
The guy who I was speaking to hung up on me ! Stay away! Go to Avis or Enterprise.

Not that renting a car should be a great experience, but this place was pretty sub-​par. The selection is almost all sedans. –not even the worst part! there’s a tool bag with studs in his ears that is far more interested in texting his homeboys than helping you out. if you don’t care about customer service– this is your place.

Worst car rental palce every told me I paid for double insurance when I didn’t came up to 520 for three weeks just for insurance that I didn’t ask for manger was very rude never will use again enterprise is way better and honest.
