The Chocolate Box

I am unquestionably a chocolate connoisseur /​snob.
The quality and variety of chocolates and beverages make this a great place to visit when in Silverton.
But it’s Aylene’s great energy and infectious passion for chocolate (not that I need more passion!) that cause me to return every week. I typically allow her to pick me out a few items. I am always pleasantly surprised, and usually completely delighted.

I’ve been there twice now and they have a wonderful selection of excellent chocolate. We’ve attended on First Fridays and the people working there are quite friendly and helpful.

Wonderful selection of chocolates, wait staff was halfway friendly. The chocolates are excellent. I bought truffles for my husband who enjoyed them very much. He said that they have to be the best he has ever had. Will for sure make another visit and hopefully the wait staff was just having a bad day.

I stopped by here with a wine tasting «passport» for the area. The lady that helped us was Aylene. She was a true delight! She was very excited to educate and sample us on the wonderful desert and port wines. Aylene made us feel very welcome even though we showed up at the end of her day. She was very patient and stayed late with no attitude. No pushy sales, but good luck leaving without a sweet souvenir ;) I will definitely be back!

Amazing place! Took my mom and grandpa here for Mother’s Day! Very welcoming, full of gratitude, as well as wonderful wine, chocolate, and coffee! Thank you for such an amazing place being here!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Great selection of chocolates and many other fine food items, including WINE TASTING! A must if you are visiting Silverton, and don’t leave the store without the Lady Bug Hawaiian Salted Caramels. Have a taste and feel your eyes roll back into your head as you go… ooooohhhh! Be sure to stop by that cute gallery right next door too :-)).

This is the best shop in town — chocolates, sauces and wonderful local gift items, not to mention great wine. It is the perfect stop for coffee and amazing hot chocolate. If you live in Silverton or are visiting — this is a MUST visit place!

It is like I have a sixth sense for finding chocolate shops. I was just wandering down Water Street and BAM!
The Chocolate Box sells various products from Oregon chocolatiers, so nothing is made on-​site. But it is like taking a brief tour of regional chocolate and although I’ve visited most of the stores already (Lillie Belle, Goody’s, Moonstruck and Ladybug), there are now a few others I’ll add to my list. They only carry about eight brands, so most of the well known Portland artisan chocolatiers are conspicuously absent.
In addition to a display case full of truffles and various other chocolate treats, they sell some fun chocolate related items like the movie, Chocolat (hello Johnny Depp), chocolate cheesecake, powdered hot chocolate, and by the cash register chocolate bars imprinted with Beavers and Ducks logos.
So all together a lovely selection of Oregon chocolate. And that is always a good thing.
