Yvette’s Wedding Gown Pressing & Alterations

She was very professional, courteous, and did an amazing job with the alterations on my bridesmaid dress. Her work was impeccable and was able to get the job done in a timely manner! If you need a dress that needs to be altered and want detailed-​oriented seamstress with expertise, definitely go to her! One of the downsides is that she is a bit on the pricey side given that I am a student, but since I was in a time crunch, it was TOTALLY worth it. Thanks Yvette!

I called Yvette because of the reviews I had seen online and can definitely agree with the other brides that she is an expert at what she does. In a very short period of time Yvette was able to take in the body of my wedding dress so that it fit perfectly, do amazingly detailed work on a crooked chiffon skirt to make it fall evenly, and engineer a bustle out of an 8-​inch train. I would highly recommend Yvette for wedding gown tailoring.

Yvette is amazing– as a seamstress and a person. I took her my wedding dress and she was an expert– she did the hem, bustle, and waist– suggesting great (and more cost effective) tailoring tricks that made for the perfect dress. And when she found out I was only in town for a week she finished it for me before I left, all without charging more! I got the perfectly tailored dress within a few days for a great price. And she’s a perfect joy to work with– super sweet, true artist, and happy to help.

Yvette’s work is impeccable! She was able to take a dress purchased online from china that looked like it was sewn by a 12 year old as a project and turn it into something beautiful!!! My wedding day was everything I imagined. Word to the wise: DO NOT PURCHASE ONLINE FROM CHINA!!! Thank you YVETTE!!!

We needed my daughter’s dress altered quickly. We brought it to her this morning and she finished this evening! Everywhere else told us it would be a couple days to finish. We are thoroughly pleased with her work!

Yvette made major alterations on my wedding dress only 3 weeks before my wedding. She was kind, loving, sweet, timely, and the quality of work was phenomenal. I couldn’t believe the quality for the price. This woman loves what she does and is proud of the work she completes. It was honestly a pleasure to visit with her for my fittings. I feel so lucky to have found her. I cried when I said good-​bye to her because she really made me feel so special with all of the care she gave to me and making my dress perfect. I contacted Yvette to see if she could help me with a few alterations for my wedding gown after I was not comfortable at all in having alterations down through a local bridal shop. I must say Yvette is WONDERFUL. She is very knowledgeable, experienced, professional, patient, helpful, amazingly sweet and most importantly, caring.
A bit about my wedding dress: it is a Paloma Blanca A-​line gown with a French Alencon top and silk dupioni skirt bottom.
I had spoken with her by phone to see if she would be able to change the neckline, add bra cups, possibly take up the hem, fix a few missing buttons, and add a bustle. After I first met with her to show her the dress, she suggested that I not modify the neckline because the flower design in the scalloped lace material would not look as nice if modified. She pointed out that she would have had to cut into the flower design that was actually centered very nicely on the dress, which then I realized she was right! I trusted her suggestion and heeded her advice — we decided to not modify the neckline afterall, and I felt reassured in knowing why.
I didn’t have my shoes picked out at the time, so I scheduled another time in which I could meet with her for a fitting. She shared several helpful tips to make my A-​line gown look better at the bottom (and slightly fuller) by considering a crinoline slip. And again, she was right! I went out to another local bridal shop to get the A-​Line slip (and bra cups) and ended up liking the look much better. We didn’t need to do any major hemming because the dress had already fit me pretty well. Pretty cool!
Yvette did help me see the various options for the bustle. We agreed that the underbustle was nice, which required taking up the hem to just the lining underneath. She also mentioned how she would fix the missing buttons and secure the current ones better, in addition to how she would press my dress by hand.
When I went to pick up my dress, I was so impressed!!! She did an amazing job and I couldn’t have been happier to have found such a caring person who takes pride in her work. I would definitely recommend Yvette to brides who need wedding gown alterations done and/​or have their dress pressed!!!

Ms. Yvette pressed my wedding dress by hand on the week of my wedding. She did a phenomenal job and I am so happy that my bridal boutique recommended me to go to her.
Ms. Yvette is very professional, sweet and flexible. She explained what I had to do from the moment I picked up my dress to the day of the wedding. She even helped me take my dress to the car! very sweet! She also pressed my veil, which looked very nice!
