The Mean Green Carpet Clean is devoted to providing the highest quality of cleaning with the lowest-​possible environmental impact. We are a family owned and operated business based out of Takoma Park, Maryland with a growing reputation among DMV residents.

We have invested in some of the newest technologies in the carpet cleaning industry; our deepest clean system is perhaps the most efficient cleaner on the market and can provide unmatched results while still adhering to green product utilization and waste disposal protocol.

Whenever possible, we use cleaning solutions that are certified by third-​party institutions like the US Environmental Protection Agency, Greenguard Indoor Air Quality, or EcoLogo. All of our products require no personal protective equipment and remain 100% biodegradable and non-​toxic. Our goal is to create a clean environment within your home or commercial building that is safe for every one and the environment.

History

Established in 2012.

My name is John Smith, the owner and founder of The Mean Green Carpet Clean. My father began in the carpet cleaning industry and has even cleaned for the White House among various other prominent government agencies around Washington, DC.

Since beginning my own career in 1999, I have gained 15 years of experience and cultivated a personal repertoire of safe but effective cleaning techniques. I founded The Mean Green Carpet Clean in 2012 to finally utilize my wealth of knowledge to its fullest extent and expound on my interest in the environment. As a parent and avid nature-​enthusiast, I was looking for a new way to provide a high quality cleaning service that still retained its ecological conscious.

The Mean Green Carpet Clean is run entirely by myself and my family — when you deal with us, you know exactly the personnel and type of service you will receive.

They cleaned my carpeting, both wall to wall and area rugs. They have also cleaned upholstery for me. I would not use anyone else. They are very professional, perfectionists, and miracle workers. They way they get all kinds of nasty stains out of my carpet, even white carpet in nothing less than miraculous! I have 8 grandchildren, their friends, and 2 grand-​dogs at my house often… and they can make quite a mess. Plus we entertain a lot. After Mean Green is finished here, everything looks like brand new!

Had The Mean Green Carpet Clean team out on a Saturday to clean my sofa. They arrived on time, were polite and efficient. Everything seemed to go as expected. After the sofa dried (took almost 24 hours) I noticed some streaks up the sides and backs (looked like the pattern when you mow the lawn). I took a towel to the sofa to rub them out and it helped, but didn’t fix the problem. I was not thrilled they were there, but figured there was nothing I could do about it. Not a big deal.
The next week I received an unsolicited follow up phone call from the gal who originally scheduled the appointment. She asked a series of questions about how the service was, if I was happy with the results, if the team had done certain things (explained the bill, left a fridge magnet, etc). She became more and more horrified with each answer I gave her. In all honesty, I thought the service was fine, not super, but fine. I certainly would not have complained (called or written a poor review).
The gal asked if she could call me back, as she wanted to speak to her manager. She called me back within the hour and scheduled a second appointment (free of charge) the following Saturday. The owner came out to assist in the cleaning. He spent time discussing the sofa with me, the issues last time and what my expectations were for the cleaning. The team really took their time, spent a lot of time brushing the fabric and paying really close attention to detail. Again they were polite and quick.
The sofa turned out super! It was less stiff and no streaks after the second cleaning! I would have recommended The Mean Green Carpet Clean team after the first cleaning, as I really did think the service was good. But they really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy! I would absolutely call them again and recommend them!

I have never had my basement carpet cleaned so I researched local carpet cleaning companies and carpet cleaning processes. The Mean Green Carpet Clean company responded to my online request within 24 hours and had a very competitive price. They completed a type of carpet cleaning and dries within 2 – 3 hours (very convenient). Their customer service is great — I received a reminder email the day before the scheduled cleaning and a call when the techs were 30 minutes of reaching my home. I will definitely use this company again!

These young men did a terrific job on our numerous carpets. We have three cats and our carpets were in dire need of a good cleaning. Now our carpets all are surprisingly bright and good looking. I think Mean Green will get all our business from now on. Both young men were charming and very efficient in their work. I highly recommend them.

This review is a little late since I hired them in late May to clean the carpets of my one-​bedroom apartment before I moved out, but they did a phenomenal job! They were super courteous and even a little early. I have three cats and had some pretty bad stains and they were able to get just about everything out.

The technicians arrived very promptly and near the beginning of the window they gave us. They had a cancellation so they were able to be here a lot earlier than the original window. They worked quickly and efficiently. They just left within the last hour so all of the areas and furniture cleaned is still drying but everything looks great!
Easily a 5-​star company and well worth a recommendation to our friends and family. Will post a little update once everything has dried and the full result is clear.

The receptionist who answered the phone was courteous, and knowledgeable. Their gave their price up front. True to their word, John called the day before to confirm the appointment, then called again 30 mins before arrival. He did a great job with the cleaning, and went the extra mile to try and get rid of a tough stain.
Everyone I interact with at Mean Green Carpet are professional, and friendly. I would use them again for sure!

Wonderful service from start to finish! There was nice and fast email correspondence from the get go in setting up my appointment. The rate was very reasonable — I had been looking into groupons with other companies, but they were all going to charge me extra for the stairs. Mean Green counted the stairs as an area (no charging a dollar amount per stair). The two gentleman arrived a little early and the whole job took less than two hours. I was very happy with the results and will definitely use them next time.

The Mean Green Crapet Clean has been giving us the best service
being a very busy Indian Restaurant in Germantown, Md it is a must for us to get our carpet cleaned couple times a month .John has always been very punctual and flexible with timmings that suits us and the restaurant. We had few cleaners in past 10 years but none of them were as good as john .He cleans the carpet like it never had any stains .It always feels clean and refreshing after he is done. and stays like that for many days. This place was fantastic. Scheduling my carpet cleaning was pleasant and they answered all my questions. All the products they use are eco friendly and kid/​pet safe. They even went out of their way to accommodate my unexpected scheduling need involving taking my kid to the doctor.
The carpet they cleaned was at one point off-​white, but had 11 years of caked-​on yuck. I thought anything would be an improvement. I had no idea they would be able to restore it to looking pretty much new, which is what they did — with no chemical smell. Pleasant, friendly, timely and professional.
This was a definite 5-​star place with 5-​star people and 5-​star results.

Rafael came to my house on time to give me an estimate. He was very friendly and professional and I had a good time bargaining with him.
John cleaned my carpets. He’s not as chatty as his brother (Rafael), but he was still friendly and professional. He did a great job explaining what he was doing as he did it and he showed me along the way the difference in color of my carpet (which was great).
Additionally, when John left and was half a mile down the road, I noticed that John forgot to clean a linen closet. So he actually came back with his cleaning equipment to clean the closet which was not big at all. Highly recommended.

Everything from the scheduling to the service far exceeded my expectations, in terms of how knowledgeable, friendly, and on time they were. I’ve never been this enthusiastic about a carpet cleaning company… seriously.
I have a 2BR condo and a dog, and have had my fair share of nightmarish experiences with carpet cleaning companies (from machines that stopped working, causing them to leave without drying a single fiber, to my entire place smelling like Bubblegum for weeks on end, to one guy who showed up 7 hours late). It has been a struggle trying to find a decent, stress-​free way to get my carpets cleaned.
From the get-​go, the guy who scheduled my appointment with Mean Green answered my questions and went through the rates and options for different levels of cleaning (i.e., how deep any stains go). He even called back to clarify something we’d discussed, and sent me a confirmation email. Prior to the appointment, the technician (Raphael, their actual employee, not a subcontractor), called to confirm about 30 minutes before he arrived.
They cleaned the carpet with a rotating brush, applied an enzyme spray to help with some dog-​related stains that were there, and it looks great. All of the stains are gone, and the carpet has that fresh, just-​cleaned look.
Raphael was friendly and professional to deal with. He took the time to explain different cleaning methods and types of carpets. As far as I’m concerned, he might as well have a Ph. D in carpet. He was THAT knowledgeable, and detailed about the process.
I can’t tell you how happy I am with the level of service and what a great job they did! I will be calling them again when I need the rest of my apartment cleaned!

It really was «Woohoo! As good as it gets!».
I dealt with Raphael for our cleaning. Not only was he very polite and well spoken, he was also very patient and thorough in suggesting what type of cleaning we would need for our carpet that was severely damaged by pet stain. It was seriously in a very bad condition but after an hour of their work, it looks pretty damn good. I’m extremely pleased with their work and would recommend them to any of my friends and family and would definitely use them for our future needs.

Raphael came right on time with a 20 minute prior call to let me know.
He was very thorough in explaining each option that I had (Regular/​Deep Clean/​Super Blasting Magic Clean). He didn’t try to upsell me any products that I didn’t need though. Went with the Deep Clean and everything looks and smells amazing.
Finished 2 floors and some stairs in my townhouse in about an hour.
Would definitely use again in the future.

Had Raf come out last week (in the snow!) to take care of our front entrance carpet and bedroom. The entrance was really bad since it is a high traffic area and a plant was recently spilled in the middle of the floor with dirt everywhere. Raf was extremely quick, friendly and professional. I have a dog. Not just a little city dog but a big, hairy husky mix who sheds. And sheds. He also enjoys running around my beige-​carpeted apartment after trips to the dog park and walks in the rain. Add frequent traffic of friends and neighbors and, needless to say, my beige carpets were looking ever more… not beige. I noticed a patina of dog hair and dark spots that had no known origin. I finally broke down and decided to get my carpets cleaned when I realized that my apartment looked dingy no matter how well I cleaned it.
Unsure of which company to choose and what service to get, I went online and found The Mean Green Carpet Clean. I chose them because they used non-​toxic cleaning products and because, when I called, John (the owner) was able to set up a time right away to clean my carpets.
On the day of the cleaning, he arrived on time, he explained the different cleaning options, and quoted a price that fit in the range I was looking for, given the research I had done beforehand. I opted to go with his most intensive cleaning option. As gross as it was to watch, John’s cleaning system (which he explained was the most advanced money could buy) sucked the dirt out of my carpet and sent it down the toilet. I was confident that instead of merely rearranging the dirt, his system actually washed the carpet, sucked the dirty water up, and sent it down the sewer system and out of my apartment for good.
The real pleasure, though, was not only John’s professionalism (timeliness, expertise, and superior cleaning system), but how clean my carpets are right now. I feel like I live in a different space. When I tidy my apartment, it actually feels clean. That experience, to me, was more than worth it. I will definitely be calling The Mean Green Carpet Clean again.

A few months ago, I had a decision to make. Whether to buy a new carpet, or to have my current carpet cleaned.
Since I have had a steam cleaning service done in the past, and have been very disappointed by the results, I was leaning towards buying a new carpet, which I wasn’t too keen on doing either…
Luckily, a friend of mine told me about the mean green carpet clean & how professional their service is. Since they came highly recommended, I decided to give them a try. I’m so glad I did…
Not only did they leave my carpets almost brand new again, the dry time only took 2 short hours.
The best part for me was the fact that they saved me a ton of money, because I didn’t have to buy new rugs for 3 rooms in my house.
In my mind the mean green carpet clean gets an A+ in both professionalism and service.
