ServiceMaster Restoration by Fowler

Unfortunately, last July we had the need for ServiceMaster Restoration by Fowler for the second time. Our HVAC unit died causing water to leak into an adjacent room where some personal items were damaged. Service Master was there quickly to mitigate the damage. This is an extremely well run business that I recommend enthusiastically, I just hope that you never need their service!
They are the best at what they do. Thank you Charlie and crew!

Hands down the BEST experience/​customer service I have ever received! From the moment I contacted them with my unfortunate water leak/​wet carpet issue until the job was completed Charlie & Phelan were an absolute pleasure. It’s very obvious that they are honest, hard workers who put their customers first. Their work was extremely thorough, completed in a timely fashion & all delivered with a smile.

I had a mysterious leak. Of course, it was during the rainy season when everyone is busy and cannot get to your house for various reasons. I called Charlie at ServiceMaster. He and his crew came out right away. They were on time and very professional. They used a scientific approach to find my leak. They are awesome and very affordable. These guys are worth every penny. They are clean, exact and very knowledgeable. I recommend them to anyone needing water damage help.

I had the main drain in my my utility room clogged that caused serious problems in the basement. The ServiceMaster Restoration by Fowler responded to my phone call right away (and it was NOT an answering machine, it was actually one of the brothers!) and the line of communication was open since then all the time, and everything was happening promptly on time, as promised. The team lead by two brothers, Phelan and Charlie Fowler, was friendly, hard-​working, professional, very thorough and did a great job on keeping me informed during every step, they made sure I understood what is going on and why they are doing what they are doing.
Having your house flooded is a very unpleasant experience, as you might imagine. Dealing with the ServiceMaster Restoration team gave exactly what they promise in the their ad: piece of mind at the time of crisis — and that is a bonus to the excellent professional execution of the restoration services: drying, dehumidifying and deodorizing my basement.
I would recommend ServiceMaster Restoration by Fowler to my friends and neighbors in a heartbeat. This is the level of service, open communication and human compassion you want when you are dealing with critical situations in your life. For them I even broke my habit of lurking on Unilocal and finally wrote a review. I hope they get all the recognition they deserve!

I am happy to report that our experience with this ServiceMaster company and Charlie Fowler was as outstanding as the other reviews. When I reached Charlie, he initially indicated he was booked and wouldn’t be able to help us out. He was going to refer us to another firm, but as we spoke further, he became intrigued by the problem we were experiencing. Like «Dr House,» from the popular TV show of the same name, Charlie has a passion for solving unusual cases. In our case the water damage was relatively small, but the source of the leak was unknown. All the usual suspects had been ruled out by other folks (plumber, HVAC technician). Charlie recommended an Environmental engineer (Industrial Hygenist), who came out with a thermal imaging camera and helped us pinpoint the problem, which thankfully did not turn out to be a foundation leak. Beyond that, Charlie’s workmanship was superior and the price was reasonable.
I only hope as his business grows — which it surely will, he is able to instill the same commitment to excellence into future employees. I would highly recommend ServiceMaster Restoration by Fowler to anyone needing restoration service.

As noted in the initial review, my wife and I were already impressed with Charlie and Phelan Fowler based on their water remediation work in our basement in May 2014. We also wanted to make sure we get a good value for our basement restoration work by getting five estimates. At the end of the day, we came back to the Fowler brothers because they were not only just a real pleasure to work with, but they were able to get superb work done at an excellent price. And they performed the work within a short timeframe that we had requested. Their professionalism is just top-​notch, and we look forward to working with them on future projects as they’re now our go-​to guys!

I wish Unilocal had a 5Star+ rating — these guys deserve it. I came home to find my basement laundry room flooded and a few inches of water seeping into the rest of the basement. After making about 15 phone calls it was clear that everyone in Montgomery County was having similar issues, as all but two companies said they couldn’t get to my house until the following week. Charlie Fowler responded to my call promptly, and said he was stuck in traffic on 495 but would be able to get to me within the hour — he and his brother arrived 35 minutes later.
In the interim, I called back the other company who told me they could have someone there in a «few hours» to cancel — figuring that (a) they refused to give me any specificity on who would be coming and where they were coming from, so a «couple of hours» probably meant 4 – 5, and (b) that it was the nice thing to do since everyone who does flood repair work was obviously busy with all the rain. The company patched me through to one of their service teams and I was promptly told «you’re a f*ing idiot if you want to cancel, anyone who says they can get to you within an hour is just lying to you.»
Well, Charlie Fowler wasn’t lying — and even if he and his brother had shown up after six hours instead of 35 minutes, their customer service approach would have been worth waiting for.
Charlie and his brother arrived and promptly assessed the situation, told us what needed to be done, helped us sort out insurance and billing issues and went to work. They worked until 1am the first night they arrived, answered all our questions, and consulted with us for even the most minor decisions. I don’t think I have ever dealt with a more courteous, professional and competent team in the construction industry. On the second day of the job Charlie called my wife to apologize that he would be 5 – 10 minutes late! I have never worked with another company that even viewed 10 minutes as being late in the first place, and certainly none with the professionalism to call and apologize in advance. Every other company in the construction industry has some form of the «we’ll treat your home as our own» cliché on their website, but the Fowlers actually mean it, and it shows in their work. I was so impressed that I am writing this review before the work is even complete — as I have full trust in this company (and I’m not exactly the easiest person in the world to impress, as some of my other reviews may indicate).
If you have a flood emergency, the Fowlers are the A-​Team — everyone else is a far second. I just wish these guys would expand into other areas, especially general residential contractor work. I would hire them every time.

The Fowler team was fantastic! They were courteous, fast and helpful anytime I had a question. I am a new homeowner and they took great care to guide me through the process of cleaning my basement that had suffered water damage. They were meticulous and perfectionists and that is what any homeowner wants when it comes ot protecting one of your biggest investments. Thank you!
