Popeyes

Service was not good. Couldn’t understand us nor us them. Ordered 2 orders of the 3 tender meal with fries and the chicken was old and only 1 one came with fries. The other something else. Probably won’t go back.

Worst Popeyes ever. Took an hour for us to get our orders and gave it to someone after us… so we had to wait longer and they didn’t even do anything. Never coming back here!!! Terrible management.

I don’t like to review fast food because it is what it is. But Post Weekend section had a review of fried chicken in the area, so the pasta sauce thawing in my fridge was left for one more day, and husband went to pick up Popeye’s. As reported by Tom Sietsema, the chicken was moist and the crust was crispy. The two problems were, we really prefer white meat chicken and are more than happy to pay extra for it, but rather grumpy counter person said no, can’t do all white meat. Okay. So second problem, the 4 piece chicken meal is packed with fries and a biscuit in a small box and then put in a bag. The moist chicken was packed on top of the fries so they didn’t stand a chance of staying crispy. Wonder if we requested them in the bag, and not under the chicken it would be okay. Or is that another Popeye «no-​no»? Okay, unless you go to Chik-​fil-​A and have to throw the whole meal in the trash after one bite (grisly chicken and soggy fries), which I’ve had to do, no complaints, it’s edible.

Got my order right and there was no wait. The cashier was very nice and smiled and actually seemed to enjoy his job. Another thing I have noticed at multiple locations is that the red beans and rice seems to lack the flavor and spice it used to have. I’m convinced they have changed the recipe. The only problem I had was that my ‘server’ forgot to put hot sauce in my bag after I asked for it twice. Oh well, at least I got 60 cents off because I paid cash.

There were at least a dozen people in line and they had one register open. Someone behind me in line was yelling for the manager to open more registers, but there was no response. They were out of french fries. There’s also a surcharge if you use a credit card.
