Motor Vehicle Administration

Came in early on a Friday. Parking still doesn’t exist, people drive like idiots, office is packed and you will spend far more time than you should here.
Customer service is mediocre, the process is slow and inefficient and the available parking falls short of being able to handle the amount of people here (maybe if the process was expedited it would ease a bit?)
Sadly, when I’m done I have to go to the emissions next door. I hope it’s not the same.

Whenever I see someone with a scowl from now on I will assume they just visited the Motor Vehicle Administration.
I really have nothing nice to say about the whole experience except, I’m glad I was just the valet that took my brother here and not the person who needed assistance. In fact, I would like to take back all the things I said about the California DMV.
I mean…
I just…

So upsetting I even have to give this place a star. No star for you! :(

Came here on a Saturday to get a new driver’s license (bye-​bye CA ID =/​). For some reason I thought this place would be less crowded since they only did driver’s license services on Saturdays. Boy, was I wrong.
I arrived at 8:45am, 15 minutes after they opened. The lot was PACKED. The line to get a number wrapped around inside. Yikes, about thirty minutes just to get a number! I finally got my number, sat down…19 people in front of me! Two and a half hours later, my number finally got called. Although there were 19 people in front of me waiting to get a new license, I guess they also did other driver related stuff on Saturdays too… not just driver’s licenses! So, don’t be fooled when it says Saturdays are for driver’s license services only.
When I finally got called up, the man helping me was rather nice and informative. After 15 minutes, I got my new license, registered to vote, and signed up to be an organ donor. Sweet! Not so bad once your number gets called.
FYI– read the MVA site before you come and have the right documentations with you. Bring a book to read because you’ll definitely spend your Saturday morning here.

OMG, this place is hell. It seems very clear in the beginning, you get in line, you get filtered whether or not you have the right documents, and then you get a number. Then the fun begins. I waited 30 minutes for my number to come up. Then the girl said I had the wrong documents, even though the filter guy said I had the right documents. So I have to come back later when my documents are faxed over by the dealer. So I go over to the other line for driver services, and the filter person says I have the wrong documents and shoves a paper at me that says «out of country residents». I come back later, and thought I could jump the line since it was my second time. I was sure I had the right documents this time. Well, they didn’t get my fax, even though my dealer has sent them now twice, and the b wouldn’t let me call the dealer to confirm while I was sitting there. I had to go away and try later. I am so sure that fax was out of paper but who cares, just get out of the way. So I go back to the driver’s services side to try for my license, and the filter lady says, «you can’t go through with that document. Please step aside». End of story. You’re given two seconds to produce the right documents. If you don’t have them, get out of the way. Losers.
