Yes, I did repair a 55″ plasma TV. I was given the name of A1 Service, in Silver Spring from some of you– and others not on the list. They gave me a quote over the phone, came to the house with the appropriate «board» that needed replacement, and were pleasant, efficient, neat– all in about ½ hour. And the estimate was exact. I highly recommend them in the future for TV repairs.

Excellent experience with A-​1. Had an issue with my LG Plasma TV panel. Called Jeff and he personally came out the next day. (I found him to be professional, polite, and very much un-​like some of the previous reviews). He dealt with the company (the TV was still under warranty) and ordered the new panel. He suggested it would be about a week before he had the part. Sure enough, in 1 week’s time, A-​1 called and set up installation of the new panel for the very next day. The 2 man repair team showed up when promised (2 hour window) and completed the job. I found everyone to be professional. I definitely recommend these guys!

Jeff Weiner, the owner of the company, is extremely abrasive and down right rude! He has te worse customer service skills I have ever encountered! He is very snotty with his comments and he’s also egotistical.
My TV is covered under an extended Warrenty and this is the company I was forced to deal with. He was unable to fix my TV and He kept blaming it on the part, which was truly defective. However, how many times must you order a part that is defective before giving up and telling the Warrenty company that the TV is not fixable? Meanwhile, I’ve been unable to use my TV for over a month while he orders defective parts? As long as he keeps ordering parts as «servicing» my TV, he can keep charging the Warrenty company.
Don’t waste your time with this guy. He’s a certified JERK. Too bad I HAVE to give A star.

Contd: if I could rate this Company and owner Jeff at OO I would. Rating at 1 * is too much. Jeff terrified me so much yesterday I had horrible nightmares last night.
I should consider my self very lucky that Jeff did not attack me because he was in such rage. My only regret is that I didn’t call the police. Im still thinking of doing that.
No one should enter my home and verbally abuse me. Pointing his finger in my face. I allowed it to happen by not calling the police immediately.
I cant believe because I edit my first review. It was erased. Stupid.
I wrote a very long review about Jeff how rude and voilent he was. He promoted no customer service.
Jeff was terrifying. He came into my home very angry.
Now I would have to rewrite the entire post tomorrow.
My suggestions for now never use this Company. I beg of you for your own safety.
I received a TV for my birthday as a gift from Amaxon. Right before 6 months. There was no pitcure on my TV. I called Samsung. They recommended A1TV.
I spoke with Jeff. It was an ok conversation. He said he was going to order the part.
A few days after they came and installed the part. The two guys that came to install the part was very nice.
After the part was installed. I went on vacation the next day.
Upon my return guess what there was a long purple line acrosd my screen. I called A1TV. I spoke with Zach. I was so frustrated Zach and I had a few unpleasant words. But our conversation ended well. So I thought.
On Wednesday evening I received a call saying Jeff would be at my home on Friday between the hours of
1 – 3. PM. Later that Friday morning at 12.51 pm Jeff called to say he would be running late
I started to say something to Jeff before I could get two words out Jeff began to attack me on the phone verbally saying i was very mean and rude to his son. OMG Jeff was so rude. Ge was yelling at me. He was terrifying. He hanged the phone up on me.
A little after 4 PM Jeff arrived at my home. His face was full of rage angerm I greeted him pleasantly.
As he was installing the part I barely said I hope couldnt get anothet word out before Jeff began attacking me. Pointing his finger at me. I was so scared I was shaking. He was yelling at me. I told him install the part and get out of my house.
I should have called the police right then.
Jeff is going to attack someone. Hes frightening. I feel bad for the other person he goes to. He has a bad temper. He explodes at any little thing.
People please be aware I beg of you. Dont go to the store alone. Go with someone. Dont be alone ay home if Jeff is coming to your home.
Read some of the other posts. Many other people say the same thing about Jeff. I experienced his temper first hand. I was very lucky he did not attack me.

If you need any repairs on your LCD (maybe plasmas) this is your place. Amazing, friendly and knowledgeable.

My friends chided me about buying an extended warranty for my Sony HD/​3D TV — now they’re shaking their heads. This is the second time the TV needed to have boards replaced — first under Sony Warranty and now under the extended plan.
I did the troubleshooting with Sony and knew exactly what needed to be replaced — the main board. When the first company contacted by the warranty company decided it was best for THEM to take MY TV away until THEY could get around to fixing it, I called back and asked for A-​1.
Yes, my first phone call with them was rather unpleasant. Seems I got Jeff in a mood of some sort after being sent to him while in the midst of asking questions of the woman who answered the phone — now I know her name, Virginia.
I attempted to set up the visit, giving all the details and asking to have the technician bring the board I needed, but that seemed not to be the way they do business. I guess when they handle a 3^rd party warranty, they have to write the estimate and get the warranty company to ‘approve’ the repair/​cost before making the appointment to come back to actually fix the set.
They WERE able to book the first appointment the day after Thanksgiving which was a plus — not having to take another day off for diagnosis was great in my book. After some lagging paperwork issues between the shop and the warranty company, all was well in the works with a 2 hour window to arrive for the look-​see.
Jim was the tech who came to my home and believe it or not, he DID bring the board with him! He said he looked at the repair order and saw that it needed the board, so he grabbed it on the way out. I was thrilled!
Jim showed me how the TV remote has a built in service menu and after a two minute diagnosis, he confirmed the board that Sony told me needed to be replaced.
With only three boards in the TV itself (this being the second, different board to be replaced) we chatted about how expensive this repair would have been had I not had the warranty. Affirmation that in THESE days, a warranty is a small price to pay vs. replacing the set (BTW Sony offered me a 15% discount toward a new TV when I called them — thanks but no)
In under 30 minutes, Jim had the set fixed and back in working order. It was great chatting with him while he educated me on the finer points of my TV and even recommended wiring it into a different HDMI port for better integration with my stereo.
While I’d like to say, I hope not to need their services again (fingers crossed), I would not hesitate to ask for help from A-​1. They even left a business card, just in case.

Had a problem with my Samsung Smart TV and Best Buy directed me to A-​1 TV for repairs under my warranty/​Samsung’s 1-​year warranty.
Setting up an appointment was simple. First initial appointment was to diagnose my TV issue which they did in a few minutes. They ordered the new part and setup a new appointment after a week. The owner personally came to repair my TV with an assistant. They even stayed to make sure everything was working and updated on my smart TV. Great guys!
Local business, professional, punctual (i.e. ON TIME to appointments), and friendly. What more can you ask?

They ran late and could not stay in the time window given as the previous job took longer. Jeff called to say they were running late, gave new approx. time and an option to come then or reschedule, which in my book is a big plus as I do not like to be kept hanging.
Jeff and another person showed up. He hit the ‘on’ button on the TV (58″ wall mount) then fiddled a bit at the back there was a click and he declared it fixed. The power cable was out. Waited for the cable box to boot and we were back in bussiness. Honesty is aother virtue I admire and they scored full.
I was just charged the trip fee of $ 95.

Very informative. I called and a man got on the phone. I was telling him the symptoms of the TV and he said it sounds like I can be qualified for a free fix under Samsung guidelines. He told me that Samsung TVs from 2006 – 2008 were recalled and he referred me to a Samsung hotline. This helped me save a lot of money and now I have someone coming out to see me for free! That was really nice of him and I appreciated it very much! I will definitely be coming back here and referring others here.

The maintenance department of my apartment complex performed electrical work on my unit without notifying me beforehand. Afterwards my 52-​inch Sony television refused to remain powered on and indicated an error (red LED blinking 10 times). I called Sony support who, after unsuccessfully troubleshooting the device, provided A-​1 as one of two local authorized service providers.
A-​1 was the most professional of the two. Their dispatcher/​office manager coordinated the two appointments at my apartment, confirming each a business day in advance (including on a Saturday before a Monday appointment). Jeff was prompt both times, given weather and traffic which are always a challenge in DC. The first visit was to diagnose the problem and the second to replace the main processing board once the part arrived.
I wish my employees were as organized as professional as A-1’s. If you need your Sony television repaired call A-​1.

We were so excited to find that t.v. repair still exists! The service was fast and friendly. Dropped the t.v. off, and received an estimate. The technician called back a couple days later to confirm price. We authorized repair, he ordered the parts and it was ready within a week. The television now works perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with the experience! HIGHLY recommend!

I guess tvs have become somewhat disposable anymore, since finding repair shop that will come to your home is a bit hellish.
But, I did luck out with this one. I called and spoke to Wyatt about the problem I was having and then enjoyed some pleasant conversation. I got an appointment first thing the next morning.
Jim & Jacob showed up on time and got right to work. It seems I was the cause of this repair. It’s a Samsung DLP and I’ve learned how to replace the lamps myself to save money and had just done so. It worked fine for a couple of days and then blank. Well, it seems like I didn’t attach the back door correctly, so it didn’t make a connection. It was over and done in about 10 minutes.
That mistake cost me a pretty penny for sure, but not nearly as much as a replacement 46″ TV. Expensive lesson learned. But, if I needed repair again I’d certainly call them first.

Extremely rude service by this company. They are contracted by LG as an authorized tv repair for warranty work. Would definitely stay away. Interestingly, there is another review which hit the nail on the head that the owner of this company has an awful attitude. Borderline scary and threatening with his tone. LG agreed that there was a legitimate issue with the TV and they green lit the repair. This company refused to comply. Stay away. You have been warned.

I thought the days of good, reliable home TV repair service had ended and that I would need to take my Flat screen TV to Best Buy and stand in line with the Masses. I am thrilled to report that is not the case.
A-​1 TV Sales and Service is the whole package. The technician, showed up at my Capitol Hill home on time and with a pleasant smile. He fixed my TV and was gone in a flash. My TV works perfectly now. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and I was happy about the price. Small Businesses rock! I am a believer. Thank you A-​1.
