Harry’s Auto Express

Have had two very good auto body experiences here, once in Aug. 2011 and again in July 2014. The first service was a total replacement of the weather-​stripping on my Mazda convertible. Harry took time in diagnosing the cause of a major interior leak and, upon determining the weather-​stripping needed replacement, spent significant time calling parts stores to try to avoid my paying full price for a factory part. When I went I went to pick it up they had even cleaned the interior to help get rid of the musty smell from the leak. Harry’s partner (I believe it is his brother) pointed out that I had a tiny oil leak as he pulled the car out of the bay. He opined that when I last had an oil change the service person had probably not replaced a seal (which, if memory serves, he told me they were required to do by law). He advised me to take it back to Goodyear and have them replace it at no cost and, if they disputed his opinion, to call him and tell him what they said. Indeed, Goodyear replaced the seal. This month I started noticing moisture again in the convertible and called Harry. He did a thorough diagnosis once again and determined that the weather-​stripping was still fine but that debris was clogging drainage holes under the piece that my wipers are attached to. He cleaned this for me for a nominal fee and, as a treat to myself, I asked him to respray my faded fiberglass front bumper (courtesy of my husband having used a shady place to fix a crack). Once again it looked spectacular when I picked it up and I was delighted to see that there was no water — not even condensation on my windshield, which I’ve come to expect in soft top convertibles — when my car sat parked in yesterday’s storm. Though I can’t say I hope for more problems with the Mazda I do know I would trust Harry’s to look at them for me if they do arise.
