I was looking for a place to have my windows done, looked online and felt that this could be a good place to start. I wanted my windows done well, since I have had poor work/​quality done on my cars before. Called around noon time and had an appointment made for the same day. Franklin was very knowledgeable and I felt all my questions/​concerns were answered for the window tinting that I wanted done on my car. The window tinting done well, very professional. Again I have to say, Franklin provided great customer service and great work. He made the whole experience better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This place is the shit! Whats the dude name with dreads? He is great, very knowledgeable and on point when it comes to tinting. I had some minor little bubbles and he replaced it without issue so I brought my girl car up there. He did a great job on that as well. Tv on the wall and cable while you wait. Hello I received a comment from «Terrence F.» of Cutting Edge Tint today indicating that I was more interested in getting my money back than having my tint removed and repaired. All incorrect and I have the voice recording to prove it. If Cutting Edge would have offered to re-​tint my windows, I would have gladly accepted. The fact that I spent a lot of time in the showroom proves that I asked a lot of questions regarding the various color choices. Additionally, the color of the tint in the showroom was tan and not blue. As I will restate (since Terrence does not address this), if I were told that the tint color could be distorted due to the vehicle factory tint, I would have made a different decision going forward. It’s about providing the customers with all of the information upfront so that they can make an informed decision. If I simply didn’t like the tint, I would accept that. However my complaint is that what was shown to me in the factory is not what I received. Additionally, if you view the negative comments on Unilocal,you will see that they all come from women. Coincidence or pattern?
⁷⁄₁₂: Per the offer to refund my original request of $ 40, thank you Cutting Edge Tint to offer a refund of $ 40. I wish that you would have offered this or a replacement a week ago so that we both could have avoided the back and forth. You should have my mailing address on file but if you don’t, please contact me via phone and I will provide it to you. Once received (is July 20 ample time), I will gladly inform the public as well as the other entities involved that you have fulfilled your promise. Thank you, Kai

Wow, where do I begin. Well here is the backstory: I bought a 2015 Dodge Challenger, and wanted my windows tinted and stripes put on my car. I was originally referred to a technician recommended by the dealer. That did not work, that person shared limited information, was barely responsive, and cancelled our appointment the day of. After this, I went to Unilocal and reached out to a few of the listed dealers. Of the five that I reached out to, one was expensive, another seemed like a mom-​and-​pop shop, and the other two had HORRIBLE customer service (e.g. rude, impatient and acted as if they were lukewarm about winning my business). Then I reached out to Cutting Edge Tint. The gentlemen that I talked to, Franklin, was VERY informative (e.g. crucial information was revealed to me that was buried by everyone else), patient and accomodating. Even more, I was able to make an appointment on the day that I called and the finished work was stellar. As a small business owner myself, I learned a lot about customer service and quality work. Oh! and one more thing, I got an awesome and doubly discounted price. Call Cutting Edge Tint first, seriously. Now, as a qualifier, I do not know if my tint will fade or if my sticker will peel. But what I do know, in the event that I have any challenges, is that I will be taken care of! — This is my first Unilocal,and presumably last post. I had to do it…

This place is amazing, totally worth the money. I went early Saturday morning and no one was there. The guy there was so patient with us, especially me. I didn’t have my mind made up about what percentage but he explained everything in detail, and it made me feel better about getting the tint. In two months I’ll be moving to FL so obviously I want a ting more suited for FL, and he made me feel 100% sure about my decision. The waiting area was very cozy and I didn’t mind waiting there at all. I’m very pleased.

Excellent service at a fair price. I had to get tinting removed from my car, and Franklin was able to remove it quickly and effectively.
They also have a nice, spacious waiting area with couches and a television. I felt very comfortable while I waited.

I just recently got my front 2 windows tinted to match my back windows at Cutting Edge and my experience was GREAT. Mr. Franklin and I talked about the tinting laws in my home state where my vehicle is registered (NC), and he gave great advice and recommendations on what I should do to stay within those laws. He also went over the different tints and cost. He sampled 2 different tint options and let me see how each would look, so I could make a more accurate decision for my taste. The process was pretty fast and I think my windows look great. I’d definitely recommend ANYONE to go there. I was also a walk-​in.

I brought my car in for a small vinyl overlay and Franklin did it while I waited!

I had a great experience with Cutting Edge Tint in Silver Spring, MD when I was there in September 2014. The person working there, Franklin, was very knowledgeable and more than willing to explain the different options, and costs without being the slightest bit pushy. Many thanks for such honest and thorough advice. The service was also prompt and the quality was excellent. I strongly recommend Cutting Edge Tint.

I paid 170 for tints on my Mazda. Received a 10 $ discount that was available on Unilocal.Military gets the same discount, so his large sign on the side of the building saying military discount is pretty much bullshit considering it’s the same discount as he gives everyone from Unilocal and they can’t be combined. That aside, I am very satisfied with the job he did. My windows look good with no bubbles. One other thing to mention, I went for the 20% tints which are not legal in Maryland. He told me that unless issued a repair order I would not have my windows inspected again in Maryland. I do not know if this is true. Consider that before going for the 20’s.

I did my research and called a few places for my Acura RSX window tinting. When I called in I spoke with Franklin who was professional and informative. I went in the same day to look at what they offer (Franklin walked me through their options and reasonable pricing) and decided to get the work done on the spot. They use a computer to cut the templates and I was out within the hour. The tint is on point including the minimal ¹⁄₁₆ of an inch reveal between the tint film and the window when you roll the window down.
The only thing is a few days later I realized the stickers (that came from the manufacturer on the windows ie. alarm system sticker, anti– thief sticker) were removed and just left laying in the back seat. It’s not a biggy, but would have been nice to ask to reinstall stickers.
Besides that definitely recommend Cutting Edge Tint of Silver Spring to take care of your car window tinting needs.

Called at 3 PM to inquire about prices and scheduling an appointment. They told me to come in at 4 PM that same day. I arrived about 30 minutes early and they took care of me. Tony was the man and it only took about an hour to finish all windows (including the back) Highly recommend this place.

Awesome job. Very polite staff. Helped out with the selection of tint to match factory windows of Honda CRV. Called ahead to see what the wait time was and was told to come in. They offer a range of other services. This is a quality establishment unlike some others i have been to in the past. Give it a try. Seems to be a best kept secret on this side of town. I will be visiting them in the future for my other needs.

So I figured it would take 2 hours to get my Nissan Leaf done once they started working on it. I lucked out, my timing was right, & my car was finished within a hour of me walking in the door! The computerized cutting of the tint makes the whole process so much more efficient!
They have a clean, organized shop, helpful customer service, and do a variety of car customization (stereos, alarms, wraps, etc.) I’ll be recommending to friends & coming back myself.

I had Cutting Edge Tint of Silver Spring remove my 5 year old 3M VentureShield paint protection kit (or «clearbra») and install a new XPEL Ultimate paint protection kit on my 2008 Subaru Forester XT. I had a great experience dealing with TJ Flores and Eugene, and they were very courteous and professional, whether conversing on the phone or in-​person. TJ did an excellent job in removing the old paint film and applying the XPEL Ultimate kit. He helped me to understand what issues could come up with removing an old clearbra from a vehicle after a few years such as yellowing and residue, but fortunately nothing unusual came up. I was pleased with the work and also surprised by how quickly TJ was able to complete the job. In total, removing the old paint film and installing the new one took about 4 hours but that also includes the time needed for the new film to dry and harden. TJ was able to work with me on the final price of the install, as it came to a bit less than my initial quote. He also answered all my questions regarding how to care for the new film. Fanstastic!
I originally dealt with Franklyn Best who manages the Gaithersburg location when I first thought about replacing my clearbra since this location is closest to my mechanic. He was able to clearly and competently describe the features of the XPEL Ultimate system as well as how it differs from other brands on the market today. The one standout feature of XPEL is that it is a self-​healing film that protects the paint of your car! Pricing was fully discussed and Franklyn verbally walked me through the process of removing my old clearbra and installing the XPEL kit so that I wouldn’t be surprised. So, thumbs up to Cutting Edge Tint of Gaithersburg as well!
The Silver Spring location is actually a bit larger than the Gaithersburg one, so all XPEL Ultimate installation are done in Silver Spring. This worked out for me since I actually live closer to the Silver Spring location. But no matter which location you choose, be confident that Cutting Edge can meet your window tint, custom car audio/​video, and paint protection needs! I highly recommend them and plan on getting my window tint replaced by them as well.
