Faith A Cousins, DDS

Faith Cousins is just okay, and her staff need attitude adjustments! Very rude biller, rude hygienist and the front desk staff were okay. On top of that I had a filling done 2 months ago that had to be re-​done as it became very loose.
Why go to an office where the staff are not friendly and are rude and a dentist that performs sub standard work???

Dr. Cousins is awesome. She is thoughtful, knowledgable and offers options for treatment. I would recommend her to anyone needing service. She even sends the ladies to «freshen up» following a treatment. Her staff tends to be efficient but impersonal. The wait can be extensive, I have waited more than 45 minutes and received push back upon trying to reschedule.

My 6mo cleaning went well. No troubles at all, but a dentist said to me that one of my filling had chipped. He showed me where and told me to try to feel it with my tongue. I felt the chipped part. He said not to worry, it’s not a major problem and that they can eventually fix it. All I had to do was scheudle my next 6mo cleaning. I didn’t schedule my next 6mo cleaning appointment. I preferred to call in to schedule my appointment. (I also didn’t schedule my appointment to see if they would schedule an appointment without telling me… keep reading to find out)
So I got a call yesterday morning on my way to work from Gaby, the girl at the front desk. She had told me that the 6mo was already scheduled but she was calling me to see when I would like to schedule my fillings for my 2 cavities. I asked her what she was talking about. I told her the dentist told me I only had a chipped filling, no cavities, and thats it. He never mentioned anything about cavities. She proceeded with, «No, you have two cavities on your lower left side.
I told her I would call her back. I don’t plan on calling. I don’t plan on returning.
They just lost a 10+ faithful patient, all because of their greed for money.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Cousins since the late 90s. I’ve seen many dentists, assistants, and employees come and go in this office.
When I first started coming here, everything was great. The dentists were kind and welcoming. The front desk associate Lilian, was always nice to my family and I. She would always personally notify us of upcoming appointments, fee and office changes.
When she left, the office slightly changed, but not completely for the worse. We still decided to come since we had already formed a close relationship with Lilian and Dr. Faith Cousins personally. The current front desk girl, Gaby, is sweet. I’ve never had an issue with her.
My family and I have never been mistreated or disrespected, but I can understand why some people think this staff is rude.
About 4 years ago, (after many fee raises and office changes) my family and I started having some issues with this office. Particularly billing.
They always tried to charge us with random fees and unnecessary dental work. They charged us for missed appointments that we NEVER scheduled.
I’m still trying to decide if today will be my last appointment since it was never scheduled. Last week they called me to «verify my appointment». So in return, to avoid conflict, I confirmed. I don’t really appreciate them scheduling something without me knowing last minute.
To top it off, I’m the last one of my family to still come here, and since I am under my moms name, they try to make me pay for the work that MY MOM has gotten done in the past. I explained to them that I’m not gonna pay for anything other than MY dental work and if they keep insisting I pay, I would go to another dentist. They stopped.
My mom and sisters keep advising me to stop coming, and like I said, I’m still debating whether to continue coming here or not.
I guess it’s time to start looking… just in case.

A excellent place to go! The office staff is very nice and professional. My family of 6 comes twice a year and they are always patient and kind with the children. Dr. Cousins is a very skilled and reassuring Dentist and the Hygienist are very kind.

Technician was VERY rough during X-​Rays and cleaning, and was dismissive when I asked her to be gentler. Dr. Cousins just gave me a blank «I don’t know» when I asked what I could do to prevent a dental problem from reoccurring, and I was a bit suspicious of her recommendation that «all» of my fillings needed to be replaced. My insurance wouldn’t cover a bill like that in one year anyway, and when I asked the receptionist about payment plans she was very rude about my inability to pay upfront. 2 stars because it was clean.

Ive been going here for 4 years now and I love it! I have had all cleanings, fillings and root canals (2) done here. The only thing dental I did not do was have my braces applied and removed (Dr. Cousins is not an orthodontist). This place is extremely clean, small and personal. I have had absolutely no issues (bad tooth experience or insurance-​wise). I will continue to visit Dr. Cousins! Keep up the great work!

So. I’ve neglected my choppers for a couple years. And so I needed a few fillings and *gasp* to replace a crown. SO, I’ve been to this office four times this month… I have a crystal clear sense of this office.
And it ROCKS.
Every staff member introduced herself to me and shook my hand before beginning their duties. WTH? I was stunned to find out later that Dr. Cousins was actually out on vacation leave. THIS is how the mice play when the cat’s away? Very impressive.
Extremely sanitary environment. Even the handles on the overhead lamps have little plastic disposable covers.
Every exam area has its own flatscreen, where you can watch the X-​rays come up real-​time. During cleanings and fillings, the staff are toggling through the images to make sure they have gotten everything… think matrix zion mainframe or minority report and you get the picture. Very high-​tech & sophisticated. After my first exam, they printed me out a color digital map of my teeth showing the exact areas that need work. Then they proceeded to schedule the appointments that correspond to the digital «plan»…it was just top-​notch. Period.
The staff’s interaction with me and with each other was polished and professional. I can honestly say I’ve never felt I was in more competent hands. They were gentle and accommodating.
I do admit, I have a couple gripes:
They don’t have private rooms. It’s a small office and there are 3 bays divided by tall shelving and plants. You can’t see your neighbor, but you sure can hear them. There’s NOTHING worse than hearing a drill being used on your neighbor right before your turn.
Once, they had Fox News playing in the waiting room. As if a dentist visit isn’t torture enough.
And on several visits, my appt started 20 mins late, and twice, my service was interrupted while the dentist or hygienist tended to another patient. (I’m talking like 10 – 15 mins just chillin in the chair waiting for them to come back and resume… once with my mouth propped open mid-filling…JUST like that scene from Final Destination. Yikes.)
But frankly, these things were completely blown off the table by their impeccable, high-​tech service. If I could give them six stars, I would.

Dirty, run down two room clinic. This place didn’t seem up to par in terms of cleanliness. I’m not sure you can call the service I received here to be dental work. It seemed to be the least amount they could provide and still legally file a claim with my insurance company.
That aside, after my first visit I allowed them to book me for another appointment because they had hours that fit my schedule and most dentists do not. A few weeks before the appointment I got a voicemail saying my appointment had been changed to a different date at a different time. As this was not going to work for me I did not show up.
For over a year now they have sent collections notices to me about a $ 25 charge they thought I should pay. Obviously, since this was not my problem it was not something I intended to pay. Their office then turned the bill over to a collection agency and added a late payment fee.
After waiting this out for a year I now feel confident that this crappy little dentist office has spent more time and money trying hussle me for the $ 35 they are about to get than it was worth. Take your $ 35, but know this:
