They suck! they told me that they would be at my location at 2pm, I got a call from a the driver at 615pm! Never will I ever call them for a tow!

don’t use this company. if you have allstate or progressive do not let them use this company. they lie about arrival times and when you check them on their lie they will lie to you again. they have absolutely no customer service. just plain rude. no apology from antwan or the young lady that answered the phone. luckily the owner of the home (whom i did not know) was very nice and didn’t mind me sitting in their driveway while waiting almost three hours on a sunday. please do not use this company.

While the truck was 30 minutes late — they were very communicative throughout the process and very friendly/​polite once they had arrived.

10÷29÷15. If you could give negative stars this company would deserve that. Through Geico they were contracted to tow my car at 2pm. I received a text saying they would arrive at 3. At 3:20 I called them and was rudely told my car would be towed in 40 minutes. At 5 o’clock I called them back and was told it would be 45 mins. At At 6:30pm they called Geico to inform them that they would need an extra hour and finally Geico cancelled the call and contracted another company. Towing companies are suppose to help you when you are in a time of need not give you the run around. Don’t they know you are already in a vulnerable position. I guess the better question is why does Geico use this company. I guess the best questions would be why do I use Geico?

Worst towing company in the whole city. I am so shocked that Allstate has ANYTHING to do with this super shitty company.
1. Tow truck driver openly admitted to being a heroin addict… WHO THE F SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER???
2. Smashed the front AND back windows of the truck they were hired to tow by mounting the truck BACKWARDS.
3. Refused to provide any insurance information and then fled the scene of the accident.
4. The idiotic, classless redneck woman answering the phone (god i can only imagine how horrid she is in person if her phone skills are as terrible and unprofessional as they are) hung up on me… IM NOT KIDDING 13 times in a row. THIRTEEN TIMES. What was I calling for? To get the owners name to report the damage that the junkie tow truck driver caused.
I AM SERIOUS… THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST TOWING COMPANY THAT HAS EVER EXISTED. I WOULD DEEPLY ENJOY IT IF A NATURAL DISASTER WIPED IT OFF THE PLANET ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE STAFF.

0 stars!!! Terrible illegal service!!! They will rip you off!!! Stay away from these crooks!!! I had my vehicle towed there just to get a new battery and they then did $ 792 of UNAUTHORIZED WORK on my vehicle, and now haven’t responded to any of my requests to discuss this matter or to get my old parts back so I can have it independently confirmed that the parts actually needed replaced. They should be in jail!!!
They also returned my car with additional damage to a door that they deny causing. Ugh. Stay away from these crooks and save yourself a bunch of pain and money!!!

They are rude, selfish people and took us to wait for them 2 hours for them to arrive. I would never use them again.

Took a while to wait for the tow truck, but then they did my repair, fortunately it was simple. My previous garage had failed to secure my transmission pan plug, and it fell out. If the repair is done at Custom, they don’t charge for the tow, which was nice considering the repair ended up being less than what the tow would have been.
But the reason I’m giving them five stars is that two months later, Wes in the repair shop was willing to write a 2^nd opinion letter describing what he found, so that I could contest the charges from the previous garage that botched my trans. service job.

Is there a way I can give this business negative stars?
My insurance company called them to come tow me. They said, «One hour.» I waited two. The truck finally appeared, hooked up my car, and delivered it to the repair shop of my choosing. Insurance paid for the first five miles. I had to pay for the extra one. I gave the driver my American Express card and everything was fine.
Cut to two months later and I’m looking through my credit card statement. There’s the towing charge on January 29^th… okay…
Wait, what’s this? There’s a charge from Outback Steakhouse in Laurel, Maryland for $ 123.00. That’s peculiar for several reasons:
1) I haven’t been to an Outback Steakhouse in years;
2) I’ve never gone to the Outback in Laurel, MD; and
3) The charge was made the same day (January 29^th) as when my car was towed.
Now folks, I remember very clearly where I was and what I did that day because after my car was towed to the repair shop, I got a ride home from a friend and I stayed there until the following morning. I didn’t go to Laurel and have a celebratory dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
Okay, so somebody used my card to buy themselves (and I’m guessing a couple of friends) a meal at Outback. And it’s not MY CARD that was used, because it’s still in my possession and has never been lost or misplaced. It was the number that was used.
What does this have to do with Custom Towing, right? Could be a coincidence that it happened on the same day. Wait, there’s more:
Five days later (on February 3^rd, to be exact) there’s a $ 39.00 charge from Armand’s Pizza. Hmm… I think I’ve eaten a pizza from Armand’s once in my life, and that was several years ago. I know I didn’t go there on February 3^rd. I check the calendar and yep, I can account for my whereabouts that entire day. I know I didn’t slip into an Armand’s and eat 39 dollars worth of pizza. So I do a little further research and discover the Armand’s that my card number was used is one mile from Custom Towing in Silver Spring.
Ah, so now you see? You can chalk the first thing up to a fluke, one of those universal coincidences that make people think there’s a connection when there really isn’t. But two coincidences? Nah.
So first thing I do is I call American Express and dispute the two charges. They say they’re going to contact the restaurants and proceed with an investigation into the matter, blah, blah, blah… They’re actually pretty good about these things and I’m confident I’ll get the charges reversed. I guess the restaurants will be out their money, but hey, that’s the chance you take when you accept payment without requiring a physical card.
Then I decide to call Custom Towing. Not to yell or accuse them, but basically to let the person in charge of the outfit know he (or she) has a potential problem on their hands, i.e. they have someone working there who is using customers’ credit cards to buy themselves (and friends, I’m assuming) meals. I don’t know for a fact that it was the driver who towed my car. It could very well be someone who works in the office and processes the payments. Or whatever. I don’t know. Maybe it’s a couple of them working together.
I call and ask for the person in charge. I explain to the person on the phone what happened and that I want to let them know about it. He tells me I need to speak to «Pete.» Unfortunately, Pete has stepped away from his desk for the moment, but he’ll take my name and number and call me back.
Several hours pass. I call back. This time, a woman answers. Can I speak to Pete? I ask. She asks for my name, which I give her. Oh, sorry, Pete is on the other line with a customer. He’ll call me back. Again, I leave my name and number. Montage of me waiting by the phone. For eternity.
Yeah, you know what? Pete is never going to call me back.
Either Pete knows what this is about and doesn’t want to admit it because then it makes Custom Towing responsible for the stolen money, or Pete doesn’t give a crap. Pete heard the message I left and said, «Ain’t none of my concern.» (Note: I don’t really know if Pete would use the word «ain’t,» or speak with a redneck kind of accent, but that’s the way I heard it in my head.)
In any case, why would you want to employ the services of a towing company that may steal from you and either cover it up, or worse (in my opinion), steal from you and not give a crap?

This company was dispatched to me via my insurance company. I had a flat, and just needed someone to put the spare on. Normally I would do this myself, but I am fighting cancer and just had surgery on my back. The driver, I believe his name is Elijah, arrived about 30 minutes BEFORE the promised time. He was very pleasant, even when my car alarm went off, he just laughed it off. He had my flat tire off and spare put on in under ten minutes. Life hasn’t exactly been easy lately, so it was nice to have this one thing go my way today… Thanks!

If I could give 0 or negative stars I would! When I cut my car off, it wouldn’t restart. I have Verizon’s «Motor Club», and called them. They said that the ETA of Custom Towing Inc. would be 9:50pm. Mind you it was only 7:50. I was highly upset at such a long wait time for a tow back home. Once 9:37 rolls around, I give CTI a call to make sure the driver was on his way to me. The dispatcher JOEY stated that the driver NORMAN had another job that he was leaving from Laurel and it would be an additional 25 minutes. 25 minutes pass and at 10:11 I call back because there still wasn’t a TOW or driver in sight. It is 27 degrees outside and with a dead car I am sitting in the blasted cold.
Another dispatcher (not JOEY) stated that Norman was going to be an additional 25 minutes because he was tied up in Laurel for some BS reason. Fast forward to 10:36, (25 minutes later), I call back again, and they are beginning to get frustrated with my repeated calling, but coming from Laurel to E/​W HWY should not be over 2 hours (unless they have been lying about where NORMAN was all along). They track him on their GPS and tell me that he is on MD-​198 (still in Laurel) and he would call me… NO CALL! I call back and CTI dispatchers begin to ignore my calls (their company phone is a Verizon cell phone). 15 minutes after calling non-​stop, I get a call from NORMAN (the driver), in which he is asking for my address! It is now after 11:15PM. Yes, 11:15PM! I tell him with an attitude, it took you so long to get here, the last thing you should be asking for is an address. I gave him the address in which he gave a final ETA of 8 minutes. He arrived in 10. After being inside of a cold, dead car, with tons of prospect criminals walking around and past me, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. Nonetheless, my time of arrival home was 12:00am. 7:50pm and arriving home at 12:00am in 27 degree weather, it is something that is simply unthinkable to one. The dispatching staff and driver were very nonchalant about the whole situation and did not apologize once! They showed no empathy, and did not care. I would never recommend you to get your car towed by them.

Had an issue with a belligerent who kept taking my parking spot in front of my house. My subdivision contracts Custom Towing for all towing needs. Upon calling them to tow this fool, they did not answer my call. I left a message and nothing happened. Two weeks later, this happens again, this time a rude dispatcher answers and she promises a tow truck. 4 hours later and no truck. This dispatcher claims I gave her the wrong address, even my neighbor made a confirmation call. Now they will not answer my calls. This business is arrogant and obviously can afford to treat their customers like trash. Don’t do businesses with them if you have the choice.

I had a flat this morning. They got to me within 30 mins. They changed my tired within 7 mins, and I was off and back on the road. GREAT SERVICE!!!

I just came home from backed up traffic on Route 29. There was a Custom Towing truck headed the same direction. And even though traffic was bumper to bumper for about two miles, the Custom Towing drive kept honking his exceedingly loud air horn, holding it on for a long time. He even honked the horn when two emergency vehicles with sirens blaring came through the intersection. From reading the other Unilocal posts, it’s obvious the culture of this company is rudeness and entitlement. I hope I’m never forced to use their services.

Best experience ever! That is if you have to have your car towed:) Maurice is a super wonderful guy. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Call these guys if you need towing services. Maurice even gave us a lift to where our car needed to be towed:) We are forever grateful for your generous spirit!
