Update June 16 2015: I’ve learned that the maintenance crew is dope, the management team just ok, and if you need something done follow thru follow thru follow thru is KEY! Office didn’t even know how to instruct tenants how to create the rent payment website profiles to ensure that rent gets paid (only primary tenant profile will allow rent payments to go through FYI; took them 5 minutes to clear it up… after I gave them 2 weeks to figure stuff out and I finally got fed up and demanded to speak to the manager, plus recorded the woman in their corporate office saying the management team was wrong etc as I was explaining my side, very funny). I digress. Nice place to live as long as you don’t have to deal with the management office too much.

Like peace and quiet? Sleeping in? Hearing yourself think? DON’T move here! I’ve lived in MUCH larger apartments than this 16 unit building (and in some rougher parts of the country, too!), and have even lived below 4 frat guys for 2 years and still, I have never encountered foolishness like this.
The units look ok; nicer than some of the other apartments in the area (I saw many in my quest to move out of there). The floors are VERY thin! Between the constant running, stomping, and thumping going on above us and the loud music and thundering bass coming from below, this place was like the 7^th layer of acoustic Hell. This is not to mention the constant door slamming, running up and down the stairs and overall lack of consideration that many of these people have for others.
I didn’t get a good night’s sleep the whole time we lived there. We heard EVERY move the people above us made. I could even differentiate between the footsteps, and that’s not even during the times when we could HEAR their conversations. Why? Because the floors suck! I’ve had things in my living room rattle or fall over when they walked. It was like living under train tracks! The leasing office basically told us «it’s your problem». We called them many times asking for help to no avail. We have extensive documentation of the disruptions (which we were keeping even before they told us to do so) and despite this, WE got a tersely worded letter from the property manager saying that WE were «harassing» the people that were disturbing US because we repeatedly called security on them. (Which was the ONLY way to get them to quiet down. We spoke to them face to face, politely, before the disruptions became a problem .The initial reception was positive and productive, but once it deteriorated and they started being rude and nasty, that’s when we involved security).
The leasing office staff is clueless, incompetent, disinterested, and apathetic. They tell you a bunch of BS to make you feel like they’re addressing your problem, but after you do what they say and nothing happens, they act like they have no clue what you’re talking about. Or they stare blankly as you talk, with no feedback whatsoever, until you finally get tired and leave in frustration. Good luck getting to the property manager. He lets his underlings do his dirty work and in turn they protect him like a he’s the queen ant or something. We never saw him, despite repeated requests for a meeting. And don’t try calling the leasing office… most times they won’t even answer the phone (I actually heard a leasing agent say this to a future resident!). My advice: get everything in writing and signed, if you can; though sometimes even that doesn’t help.
Parking depends on the building you live in. I once saw a resident try to park and HIT THREE DIFFERENT CARS before finally giving up. I’ve also seen several cars get hit by residents backing out of spaces and not paying attention. Then there are the people that hit other cars with their doors and don’t care. No respect for other’s property.. or their own, apparently. When snow comes, be prepared for a slippery ride. The complex plows and salts when they feel like it. For one storm, they didn’t plow until after 9 a.m. Another time, they were out before dawn with the plows, but didn’t follow up with salt that evening. I slid from the entrance to my parking space on one big sheet of ice.
On Fridays when the store advertisements arrive, many of the residents take them out of their mailboxes and just throw them on the ground (the dumpster is about 20 paces away from the mailbox) Speaking of mail, I had a box containing an expensive designer jacket that I’d ordered online STOLEN from off of my doorstep.
Maintenance is ok with small things. For bigger things though, you may want to watch them. Some of them do sloppy work. I once asked them to seal some gaps in my floorboards; the guy used way too much foam and it stained my carpet.
We walked into one prospective apt (before we chose this one) that had DOZENS of dead/​dying roaches on the floor and counters. I asked the girl in the leasing office if she was aware of this. She responded (with equal parts ignorance and disinterest) that pest control treats all units once they are vacated and that sometimes treatment brings the roaches out, adding, «You know what that’s like, right?» (wtf?!)My boyfriend saw a mouse soon after we moved in and called the leasing office ASAP. They said that pest control only comes out on Mondays (ironically, he saw it on a Monday morning) but that we would have to wait until NEXT week for them to treat our apartment… Either way, we didn’t see any more after that. They also have pest control come in every few months to treat and inspect entire buildings at a time (which means taking EVERYTHING out of every cabinet and drawer of your kitchen and bathroom, which is a pain.)

wow the apartments are not bad .But beware do not live on the bottom floor, this was my first apartment and it will probably be the worst. I had a family of five living above me this guy his wife, two kids, and mother. I complained so much about them, so they made up a rumor about me and I had to go to court to battle out with this guy .He took out a peace order on me because I cursed him out. Any ways, management was no help at all. He should have transferred them, instead of asking us if we wanted to transfer. This guy is 43 and I am 19. The saddest thing is the management repeated that they have been there for eight years, and here I was feeling sorry for myself when I didn’t realize he couldn’t move because he can’t afford to, because he only drives a car for a living. Other than the people the apartments are okay, just make sure you do have updated appliances, just watch out for the management and keep an eye out for shitty neighbors. Hopefully by the time you get there, they won’t have complete shit heads for neighbors.

The apartments themselves aren’t constructed very well: floors underneath the carpeting are uneven, doorways aren’t level, stress cracks in the sheetrock, etc. That being said, the property company does a great job of keeping the apartments in good repair — maintenance will come out within a few days if you request service (I haven’t had any major emergencies, so I can’t speak to the swiftness of a response in that case). The biggest downside, especially this winter, is that they are HORRIBLE at clearing the parking lots and sidewalks of snow and ice. I moved here from Connecticut, so maybe I have high expectations.
