Been going to doctor bishops for 4 years and had great results! Had one root canal and 2 crowning done. Very friendly and explains in detail about what he is doing!
The only negative is his schedule is usually packed, but that just goes to show how good he is!
Would definitely recommend!

I went to this dentist for about 2 years. WHile they were very nice and friendly, I have since had a lot of issues with the work that Dr. Bishop complete. I’ve have to get BOTH root canals redone after only 1 or 2 years. They are supposed to last for decades. I probably could have gone back to them with the issues, but honestly didn’t trust them enough.

Been to a lot of Dentist. Finally, found my lifetime Dentist. My dentist is the husband, of the Bishop and Bishop. He was very understanding, explained things, that have never been explain before. Million Dollar smile, though I don’t smile much. If I did I would not be ashamed!!!

This is a great family practice. No have went there for 7 years and referred friends here.

In short, don’t go. The doctor is pleasant, but I need someone who is competent and doesn’t have a billing system that feels slimy.
The long:
I have had a lot of dental work done in my past, so I have a good idea of what is ‘normal’. In my first appointment, I was told I was in good shape. Next appoint with the person doing my cleaning, I was told my teeth were in horrible shape — I actually left feeling really bad, like I’d somehow failed my teeth.
Alas, I went in for my first filling. I’m not sure what happened exactly but within a minute of getting the first injection, my entire sinus area (eye, cheek, nose) puffed up. I became extremely concerned but I was assured by the doctor it wasn’t all that bad. Perhaps, but my face literally hurt for the rest of the day due to the pressure. Once the numbness went away from the procedure, I noticed that my tooth that was newly filled actually hurt to bite down on anything. Like electricity running through my face (i.e., nerve response). Before the filling, my cavity didn’t hurt, but now the ‘fixed’ tooth hurt.
I really did not want to go back but I figured my insurance wouldn’t cover the same tooth being fixed by a new dentist — so I went back to have the now painful tooth to be addressed.
Now, I’m no dentist, but the solution was to file down other teeth because the theory was that it was other teeth (which got along just fine before he filled it) were now getting in the way of the filled tooth and causing more pressure to be placed on it.
All I could think of while he was doing it was «there goes my enamel». I should have said something, but I didn’t.
To add insult to injury, as others mentioned, the insurance was a mess. At the next appointment, the front desk said I owed money. Not much, about $ 20. I questioned what wasn’t covered. She said it was just the insurance not covering some of it. Since I knew the cleaning, xrays, and exam were fully covered and I’d payed my % according to my insurance plan during the prior visit, I pushed back several times and ultimately, since she couldn’t explain WHY I had a balance, did not pay this alleged balance. But that’s ok, cause they just started sending me bills in the mail. I ignored them thinking they’d figure out it was a billing error and stop. Nope.
Frustrated, I called the insurance company to see why I owed money. You see, the explanation of benefits I had gotten from them showed my portion I’d paid, the portion that was the agreed upon fee, and the ‘balance’ was what the doctor had charged above the approved rate — which the patient is not responsible for. The insurance said I shouldn’t be paying anything above my portion, and three-​way called the doctor’s office to ask why I was being billed. They denied me being billed. Miracles of miracles, the bills stopped. Not to worry, they charged me for an extra tooth being filled — thankfully I caught it before I left the office.
Never. Again.

Came here first with an emergency on a Fri evening, thankfully the doctor was in and would see my wife. Service was great. Since, procedures have routinely taken MUCH longer than with previous dentists, and have had to come back repeatedly to get work fixed. Very expensive, too. Reception has botched appt and insurance info as well.

Really friendly husband and wife team of dentists. They have a fantastic dental hygienist.
I did not feel the communication between myself and the dentists (I saw both Dr. Bishops on separate occasions) was good. I went in for a procedure and totally did NOT expect that the dentist was replacing my old fillings as well as filling new ones. The procedure was much longer and more expensive than expected. It may have been appropriate (medically) to replace my old fillings, but we never had that conversation.
On my second visit the dentist noted old cavities, but did not ask me when I would get them filled. In addition, the dentists «denoted» cavities that their spouse found during the previous visit.
I feel most of these complaints could have been eliminated with better communication. The dentists are very friendly and love to chat; but I didn’t feel like they wanted to really discuss my concerns or dental health.
