Used Lyft in Vegas. Dont like the hidden charges and the dreaded «percentage upcharge» when its supposedly ‘busy’. I think they randomly decide to increase fares. Will NOT use Lyft again.

I downloaded this App yesterday night to compare which service to use for local rides. I deleted the App after about 5 minutes. I did create an account. I have received two random texts from Lyft stating that a driver is on my way. One person called just now saying he was standing outside my house. He had my name and address. He could not tell me when I ordered a ride, where to and for what time. This is scary. Do not download this Application. You will get stalked.

i called lyft on oct 31^st and i left my phone in the car. i did the lost and found claim and they are still trying to get a hold of the driver! it is monday afternoon and i still have not heard anything from them. they are by far the most unprofessional company i have ever encountered. I heard that also one of my friends girlfriend left her purse and her credit card were used. everyone please dont use LYFT stay with über.

Was at a company event in Woodside very close to the highway. I called for a lyft at 11pm on a Saturday and was told in 15min they would be there. Within 5 minutes the first driver canceled saying I was too far, then the second canceled, the third also canceled, after the fourth cancellation (all four were the same reason, 10 – 15 was too far away) i ended up using their competitor über. I will never be using lyft again, über is far more dependable and professional. By far the worst experience ever!
My guess is this happens all too often. I was surprised that after a few cancelations the next accepting driver isn’t mandated to come. This not only ends lyft’s relationship with me but others as well.

Horrible. Decided to try Lyft because there was surge pricing going on with another service.
I scheduled a car. The guy goes to the wrong address. He calls me and I double check. The address is correct. He checks again and realizes what happened then cancels the ride. Garbage.
As I’m writing the surge is over and now I can use my trusty OTHER service! I don’t even care about the free $ 15. Not worth it.

App sucks. We arrived at SJC and tried to request a ride. Error message indicated driver available from Menlo Park to San Jose when I clearly dropped the pin on SJC, seriously? When it finally let me proceed to entering my credit card info and confirming ride request, the damn error message popped up again. I’ll never request Lyft again. Uninstalling Lyft as we speak.

So apparently, I was picked up by a driver whose name is Horace and I realized that during my time he was driving to my destination, I noticed a handful of red flags. One of the red flags is that he does not wear a seatbelt at all, which could put future passengers in danger. Another red flag is that he gave me somewhat of a dirty look, and I heard him whispering something that’s likely racist. The third red flag is that he drives WAY beyond the speed limit that a cop could easily pull him over for speeding.
Honestly, I don’t know how crazy drivers like him are employed t LYFT, but this guy needs to be fired. As far as I know, he’s Vietnamese, has this weird voice, and possibly badmouths other passengers behind their backs, so watch out for this guy.

I dont know which location is responsible for this but I don’t think it matters. I have been charged at least twice for service I have never used and it was set up by someone as a recurring charge. I attempted to call the company but it only gives an automated response. I went to their website and left a complaint and I have NEVER been contacted. Shortly thereafter another charge appeared. I had to cancel my bank card so the charges will stop. Clearly this company doesn’t care even a little but about fraud. I have never used Lyft and never will. Please understand… these charges are originating at Lyft and the money is going to Lyft, not some individual criminal scum. If a company won’t correct an obvious unauthorized and illegal charge I have to warn others not to use them. The bank is investigating how Lyft managed to set up an unauthorized recurring charge and I hope they nail this company! Wish I could give no stars!

LYFT is uniquely different to UBER, in that they offer free rides randomly. One thing to take advantage of when you know your rides don’t amount up to more than $ 20.
Downside? Being ripped-​off. I know a few dollars don’t amount up to much, but it’s the principle of it all.
6:18PM — the phone call of, where am I picking you up? Right at the freeway entrance of 85 for ohlone-​chynoweth light rail. Driver tells me «okay be there in a minute»
6:20PM — phone alerts me driver is here. It’s pouring rain, so I know the driver won’t see me in the dark. So I walk out in the rain, better me wet than the driver calling me again unable to find their passenger.
6:24PM — looking on my phone map of drivers ETA, I see the car still driving, but under the map, it now says RIDE STARTED. whoa, whoa, whoa. Since when? It’s cool, maybe they’re close by.
6:25PM — I get the call. Yeah, the driver exited the freeway and went completely around the back, add another mile to that drive that I have yet to enter he car yet.
If you know the ohlone-​chynoweth light rail area, you’d know from the entrance off the 85 to the back plaza and crossing the track is a trek in the rain, let alone a regular walk.
I’ve emailed my issue, no response. I tweeted my issue, they responded by letting me know that, «Rides will start automatically 1 minute after your driver arrives to ensure they’re properly compensated and for a quick pickup.» My ride started before I was ever picked up.
Seeing as I did with the driver on my map, circling and driving to God knows where, it’s always cost us about $ 18 to our destination. It was my misfortune that night to get a driver charging me $ 24. That’s a huge difference in price, that $ 6. No, it was not during prime time or any other raise in fairs.
I keep my eyes on the ETA map so that my drivers won’t have to wait for me since they’re offering me the ride. Never thought it would be to see me charged before my ride even started.
I learned from a friend to use a card I could keep a few dollars in and just transfer when I need it, to prevent card scams and such. And it’s what I do when taking UBER or lyft. And I refuse to pay more than I should.
1 star for offering free rides that I won’t be using anymore.
1 star for support via social media, without any resolution for my ride.
Free rides? No thank you. I’ll stick to UBER.
