I completed my dental education at UCLA School of Dentistry, earning my dental degree, as well as a concurrent Master degree in Public Health in 1979. I served as a Visiting Lecturer on the school’s faculty for many years, before the demands of my practice necessitated my reluctant resignation.

I try to provide my patients the highest quality state-of-the-art treatments, but will not be found among the earliest adopters of the latest fads. I strive to exercise prudence in the selection and recommendation of treatment for my patients. I see each of them as a person, not just a patient, striving to harvest the benefits of technology without losing sight of the importance of personalized attention and human touch.

I usually don’t write reviews for Dental Offices but I really enjoyed going to Dr. Nguyen Dental office and felt his staff are well worth me making a stellar review because the office as a whole is stellar. The staff is always great and caring and Dr. Nguyen is always careful to make sure I am comfortable and have a full understanding of any procedure. He even helps me understand all options and alternatives. A lot of dentist offices claim to be pain free but this office truly lives up to it !!! They also are advance and high tech which is simply amazing, because I remembered my old Dentist use to take yucky impressions which always made me gag so that he could send it to lab to fabricate the crown. However, here in this office Dr. Nguyen does the new CEREC crowns which are made in the office, so I get my crowns the same day and no more impressions!!! Which trust me saves me a lot time since I’m super busy at work and can not always leave. So if you are looking for a great Dentist give this office a call.

This is not Donald Yan’s dental office anymore. It belongs to Dr. Nguyen now. Beware of this dentist as he is all about making money off you. You need to buy a mouth guard. You need a new crown and also a root canal. I found a new dentist who says I don’t need a new crown. The staff is friendly.

I am very pleased with Dr. Yan and Dr. Nguyen. The office is clean, neat, and bright. My elementary-school children happily waited while reading children books and watching colorful fish swim. They saw Dr. Yan and Dr. Nguyen on two separate visits. Both doctors are very friendly and patient. They provided detailed explanation and recommendations for the cavities. The hygienists made sure the kids are comfortable. The office staff are very friendly and professional as well.

I love Dr. Yan. Where did he go? Nothing is the same. I had a tooth pulled unnecessarily to buy an implant I cannot afford. I felt so manipulated having to make financial decisions while under duress in the dental chair with blood and spit everywhere. The office manager came to me to sign forms while in my chair. They got angry at me for calling my husband to get advice because it was interfering with their schedule. They should have checked my insurance plans first to see what treatments would be paid and finally give me all the scenarios for possible treatments before putting me in the dental chair. Very unethical practices here. The new dentist may be a good dentist but his unethical practices should be reported to the California Dental Board.
Now I have a missing tooth and I am looking for another dentist to finish up the dental work I will need.
Don’t go there.

I am under Dr. Nguyen’s care for a significant amount of dental work. I find that his work, just like that of Dr. Yan’s, is outstanding. With regard to his staff, yes, there has been a complete turnover, but all of them, just like the prior staff, are outstanding too. Moreover, Dr. Nguyen’s fees are competitive and commensurate with the high level of professional services delivered by him. I have perused some of the negative reviews and it sounds like so many people I unfortunately know of who «expect something for nothing»…give me break!

I been putting off writing this, I don’t know why this place is still being called DR. Donald yan office since its no longer the case.
Dr. Yan is a great guy along with his staff which all of them are sadly gone now because they truly cares about patients and offers great service with attention to details and personal touch, every warm, friendly caring. Well ALL of that is GONE NOW.
Now for the new Dr. Nguyen. This guy is all about making money off patients and he will go above and beyond to get $$$$ off his patients.
His new staff are the not much better since Dr Nguyen probly trained them to be his bitches and extract much money off patients as possible .This Includes ALL of NEW STAFF. from FRONT DESK to ALL DENTAL HYGIENISTS.
I will not be using this dental office any more. To anyone reading this i would say only go there if you want someone to rip you off and have alot of unnecessary procedures done to you so he can charge you and make money for himself.

My family has been going to Dr Yan for about 18 years. We all love him. But, sadly, he sold the practice to Dr Nguyen, and only works part time in the office. Nguyen completely changed the staff we had all got to know so well, presumably to bring in cheaper people? I feel like the new dentist is all about the money, and I get it, because he just bought a thriving practice, but it seems to be going a bit overboard. He also made a negative comment about some previous work I had done, but he must have known (or at least suspected) it was Dr Yan who did it, and that struck me as very unprofessional. I have had some extensive work done by both, and I am convinced that Dr Yan is the better dentist. Sadly, we have decided to move on.

I was looking for a good dentist in the area close to my workplace. Several of my co workers recommended this dental office since Dr. Nguyen has the advance technology where he can make and deliver your crown the same day. It’s amazing technology !!! No more gooey impression material and no more wearing a temporary till the lab fabricates its. Also, the staff are really nice and welcoming, I get super nervous going to the dentist and especially going to a new one but this office is amazing because I think Dr. Nguyen does really care about his patients.

I have been going to Dr Yan for 4 years and and have had excellent service and a wonderful experience. Dr. Yan had brought in this new doctor with you technology and improvements and sold me on the getting braces, unknown to me he is not a full or true orthodontics. In order to give me a price on braces he charged me $ 500, which I was completely happy with, but not knowing what a chew orthodontics office does and how they charge and Bill. This doctor was taking me for a big ride. So once I gave him the initial $ 500 that almost any other true orthodontics office would charge to start a job and start a monthly reasonable payment plan, this doctor named Dr. Wynn, wanted $ 500 in order to give me an Estimate of my braces. So when I came back to get the estimate he wanted an additional $ 1500 on top of the 500 that I had already given which would’ve brought it to a total of $ 2000. And then a monthly payment of $ 74. What makes this more audience stranger, is the fact that I had to orthodontics policies. That is my mind what a brought down the price considerably as well as the monthly with this doctor. Thus I went to see Dr. Pawley and Glendora which is a true orthodontics office and set me straight and explain to me that what I was being charged was completely outrageous. Also the fact that the other orthodontics or so-called orthodontics Dr. is not a true orthodontics specialist the time that I would’ve been those braces could’ve been a lot more time because he is not a true orthodontics Dr. So I tell you to please not go to Dr. Yanez office because Dr. Dan has sold his business to Dr. Wynn and Dr. Yan is a very limited on the visits that you are able to see him he is semiretired and his new doctor, Dr. Wynn is using his good name and all his hard work and running down the drain.
