Weepin’ Willies

This is our spot for getting deli meat and grilling meat.
Grilling meats — they have some regular stuff during the summer months and some other stuff rotates in and out. Steaks and chops are always a good deal. I don’t buy steak anywhere else anymore — if willies doesn’t have it, we change the menu at home. They’re always cut thick and priced well.
Deli meats — Get the garlic roast beef. It’s the house special and it’s wonderfully tender, rare, and garlicky. We like to pair this with the Land o Lakes italian 4 cheese blend, which is always on sale here — the two are a natural pair.
For both types of meat, you’re looking at maybe $ 1-​$ 2 less per pound than shaws. I haven’t ever seen shaws undercut willies, so it’s worth the side trip if you’re getting meat.
Again — get that garlic roast beef!

seriously dont know why there would be any bad reviews, i have been hitting this spot for years at lunch and it is awesome, great coffee beans, tuna and a super olive bar; fresh meat and the veggie kabob is to die for. go to willies you will spend less, eat great and have a few laughs with the staff!!!

I’ve driven past this place probably about a few hundred times and never stopped by. It’s tiny so it’s easy to miss. As well as undergoing renovations as of last week. Still open for business though.
The thing that drew me in the place were their deals on meat. Their filet mignons are $ 9.99 a pound, regularly! I especially love their marinated filets, they vary daily in flavors. I’ve tried their teriyaki and Italian, both were delicious.
I wouldn’t say anything extraordinary about it. Just a regular deli with the basics, Boars Head cheeses, meats, minimal selection of produce and grocery needs. Oh and they have an olive bar, a pretty big one at that, random. I’m not an olive fan so it didn’t intrigue me. This place reminds me of the tiny bodegas in NYC, which makes me question how it’s staying afloat in suburbia Shrewsbury.
If you like steak, definitely stop by. But I wouldn’t rely on this place solely for your grocery list, especially when there are so many huge grocery markets right down the road on both directions.

A mediocre market. Produce prices are only a bit lower than Shaws, but higher than Price Rite. The produce quality is always hit or miss.
Sandwiches are sad looking. Depression Era hunks of bread with cold cuts.
You’ll notice that all the negative reviews have been filtered out.

Weepin’ Willies is great– you can get a made to order sub with all Boars head meat — delish and great price. The premade subs are cheaper but dont have much meat in them so I usually pay more and get a made to order sub. nice selection of fruits & veggies and such

Stopped in here this morning to pick up a fresh sandwich for lunch. I was offered assistance promptly upon reaching the counter. The young lady who helped me was polite and friendly and made me the perfect sub. I ordered a Turkey sandwich, not the cheap stuff, just Boar’s Head. What I received was a nice tasty sandwich for $ 4.99. For those on a budget, they offer pre made sandwiches. for $ 2.99.
Not just a sandwich shop, they offer fresh fruit and vegetables, and many grocery items too.
Though I have not purchased any grocery items, I highly recommend them for a good inexpensive sandwich.

The ready-​made Italian sub I had today was good. Not extraordinary, but what can you expect for $ 2.99? A terrific value. But a word to Weepin Willie, I think of shredded lettuce as those really thin, angel hair pasta-​like strands. What you have is sliced lettuce. All the same, a good sandwich at a rock bottom price. Did not have a chance to peruse the veggies, but at a quick glance, this is a good place to shop for fresh veg.

Weepin Willies is hands down my favorite place to go for lunch. The only place to sit though is outside on the picnic tables. Otherwise you need to head down the other end of Plainfield Rd and sit by the pond, of just carry out.
The produce is amazing, the snack foods are excellent and very affordably priced, and the deli sandwiches are the best! Plus, I can get food for a meeting of a dozen people for less than $ 70! Platters are awesome, subs and salads are awesome, and the staff is extremely friendly. Willies is my kind of place!
