Everything on the menu is delicious, best appetizer is the cheese bread and marinated crab claws. Sandwich go to is the steak poboy or the cheeseburger. Local spot for Shreveport and for any Hollywood celebrities that are in town.

Cush’s is a local staple! Their chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. Their baguette bread is equally amazing: broiled with olive oil so it’s perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I’m not exaggerating when I say everything I have had at their café is amazing. I always stop when I am in town. Not to mention they always have fresh baked goods, cookies, and cakes. Cush’s is easily my favorite restaurant in all of Shreveport.

The chicken salad over avocados is by far the best dish on the menu. I miss the cupcakes, and are not crazy about the cake balls.

JG score of 4⁄10(+2 for food, 0 for atmosphere, 0 for price, +1 for Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for service and +1 for we would return) We ordered a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup, a cup of Shrimp Gumbo, the Hot Corned Beef Sandwich with Cheese and the Soft Shell Crab Poboy. This Poboy was our favorite item of the trip. Good texture to the crab and tasty preparation and remoulade sauce. Opening up the sandwich, you could see the crab folded up in there. Next in line was the Chicken Tortilla Soup described as «delicious» by J. The Shrimp Gumbo and the Corned Beef sandwich were just okay, even Jason’s Deli has a much better Corned Beef sandwich. Both lunches came with fries that were above average. The atmosphere was strained. It is a nice building with a grocery inside on this nice side of town. Inside, there is what seems like only 9 – 10 tables. That day, they were all full and close together which seemed uncomfortable and was loud. We did not get to sit inside but were put outside where it was hot and we were swatting away flies. Not a good atmosphere score from us at all. The price is high for a lunch here. Maybe without the gumbo it would have been under $ 15 but we left here not stuffed and easily paid over $ 20 after a tip. They do have fountain Diet Dr Pepper. The service was nice and typical and no issues here. We would go back here sometime. We decided that if we do, we will try the Oyster Poboy and the Chicken Salad.

My husband and I have tried numerous items on the Cush’s menu. Always«to go». We have liked most everything we’ve ordered but… tonight we ordered their Shrimp Salad Avocado«to go» and it was awesome! The avocado was perfectly ripened, the shrimp fresh and lightly dressed. Perfect supper on a hot summer night.

Had a chicken salad sandwich because I was told they’re famous for it. It was really forgettable, nothing special. Ordered a cup of seafood gumbo in hopes of salvaging the experience, only to find that it, also, was bland and boring. Teeny, tiny shrimp — I mean these things were like sea monkey tiny. I agree with a previous reviewer: these are not Louisiana shrimp. Also, I have to say: I was the youngest person in the restaurant by about 45 years, and I’m 32. The staff seemed surprised when I walked in. One reviewer here implies that it’s a «local» thing. I’m a local; they looked at me like I had three eyes, as well. I think maybe you have to be a local and have a driver. I’ve heard that the lasagna is good. Maybe I’ll ask my grandma out on a lunch date and try it.

Amazing food! Great place! Westopped here during a road trip staff was amazingly friendly. I loved that the owner was in the open kitchen cooking away. If I were to open my own place it would be similar to this place.

My husband and I love to go here for lunch! We always take our out-of-town guests here, and they are consistently impressed! Great salads, appetizers(love the cheese bread), and sandwiches! Cute atmosphere with a nice seating area outside when the weather is nice as well.

Absolutely delicious! The food was fresh and great quality. The servers were friendly and despite the lunch rush we were seated and served in less than 30 minutes. Had a great time browsing the little grocery store and had a nice conversation with the butcher. Fresh and friendly. I would recommend the avocado chicken salad, sweet potato fries, and clam chowder.

I don’t understand how I’m the first to review this place when you consider(a. how crowded the place always is(b. how good it is(c. how everyone and their mother has apparently had a cupcake from here and knows of its reputation as being OMFGGOOD. A friend was saying just the other day that if he had not been personally escorted to Cush’s, he’d never know of it, and even if he had driven by, he wouldn’t be compelled to go in, because it «looks like a church». True, while it does look like a tiny backwoods Pentecostal church, it’s certainly not(Unless Pentecostal churches serve the best chicken salad you’ve ever had in your life, and gumbo, and sell wine in the back); it’s actually the most bustling lunchspot on this side of town. If you go anytime between say, 12 and 1, expect to stand and wait for awhile. Their seating is limited and at this hour primarily inhabited by middle aged ladies whose main source of enjoyment seems to be sitting and smugly eyeing those patiently waiting long after their food has been cleared. Truthfully, that’s the only bad thing about Cush’s– most of the people who go on their lunch hour have no sense of urgency or decency and settle into those wooden chairs as though they’ve just retired and that chair is where they are going to sit for the next 25 years. BUT. Once they get up and the super awesome waitstaff clears the plates and replaces the craft paper on the table(no table cloths, just paper to draw on) and you sit down, that annoyance melts away pretty quickly. I’ve had po-boys and a salad or two on the menu, but it’s the chicken salad that has become my go-to. When it comes to the cupcakes, virtually any of them will do, but the red velvet is what sells out the quickest. If you spot any in the case when you come in you may do well to order that first, and have it set aside, lest you be disappointed when it comes time for dessert and you find that it’s been sold out.
