The Pet Companion offers a true home away from home and the most loving experience in dog care. The Pet Companion is not a kennel and will never take more than 2 clients at a time. Your loved one will feel playful and loved in a stress free environment. I offer a large backyard with plenty of room for running and lounging, while enjoying fresh air under trees and the enjoyment of a pool. The Pet Companion provides convenience and comfort for dog owners, including: overnight boarding; personalized walks; dog training skills; one-​on-​one dog learning games; transportation pickup and drop off; photo shoots; and, of course, hands-​on love and care. Yvette has a BA in Marketing and worked for Guess, Inc. in licensing for 5 years prior to starting a family. She is certified in higher education from Duke University in Dog Emotion and Cognition, Certified by the Red Cross in Animal CPR and First Aid, and a pet-​parent to Lucas (Labrador), Charlie, and Lucy (2 Cavalier King Charles).

These folk are the best in their field. They care, they communicate well, they are professional, they are simply STELLAR. Our pets love it when the Pet Companion staff come visit, and we have been using their services for years. If you want someone to look after your pets who will care about them as much as you do, then you reach out to The Pet Companion and book them for every holiday, vacation, day away from your pets that you have. First Class… with a personal touch and great attention to details.
If your not convinced by Yvette’s caring personality, then she will win your business and your pet’s unconditional approval with the level of service she provides. It was more like having a close friend or family member who actually cared about watching Lucy, our three legged cat. On top of that, we loved her personal touches… sending us pictures, bringing in the mail, resetting our light timers… she really looked after the place as well.
The best part… we arrived back home to a clean (how we left it) house and were spared the «WTF, where were you» attitude from our cat.
Lucy was completely happy and stress free!

Yvette is the ONLY person we trust with our French Bulldog. He absolutely adores her and gets legitimately excited when we pull up to her house. Yvette takes the BEST care of him and gives him so much love and attention… just as he likes it :). We hate leaving him but knowing he can stay with Yvette makes us feel comfortable to know he is in great hands having the time of his life.

Yvette is great and we trust her with our home and pet’s care completely! We have been using Yvette for many years now. First as someone to come on weekends to feed our kitties, fish, and tend to plants, mail, etc. when we were away. We then used her services to care for our dogs at her home. She was also invaluable a couple of years ago during the last few months of my pregnancy with twins and the first month or so after walking our dogs when I could not manage. She also had some good baby advice! We continue to use Yvette’s services and it is such a relief to know that we have such a caring, reliable, and professional person to care for our precious pets.

I found the Pet Companion through an online search a little more than 2 years ago. I called and spoke with Yvette, she scheduled a time to come over, and meet with me and my kitty. Her book of references, personality, and time with my Cat gave me comfort in knowing we were in very good hands. I travel approximately once a month for work, and knowing Yvette is there to check in with my baby, gives me peace of mind. I even get pictures and videos to brighten my day while I’m away. I would not hesitate to recommend Yvette to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet.

She goes out of her way to be accommodating and it is very comforting to know that Yvette is around when I can’t be there for my dog, Holly. We love Yvette, and trust her completely. Whenever we drop off our German Shepherd here, our dog is happy and no pulling back like she had with another place we use to leave her. So we know she’s happy here. Such a relief to know Yvette is around and her beautiful family and home. You will not be sorry with this pet companion. She’s great with last minute emergencies also, as long as she’s not busy with another dog there. She’s very professional yet keeps a personal touch.

I can honestly say that our beagle loved coming to visit Yvette and her family. Even as our boy Neil got older he always enjoyed the company and care Yvette and her family showed him. We will always be grateful for Yvette and the love she gave Neil. Once we get a new companion for our daughter and we need to travel again, we know who we will be calling for a sitter. Short version of this review: stop looking around, and call Yvette.
Yvette’s been watching our cats whenever we’re out of town for two years, and we’ll never go anywhere else. She’s never been unavailable, even when I’ve called just a few days before getting called out of town unexpectedly or when she was going to be on vacation – in the latter case, she always has backup. Last time it was her mom, so it’s pretty legit backup.…
Yvette sends pictures and videos of the cats every day that she’s at our house, and they’re always happy and healthy and the place is tidy when we get back. Even our shy cat has warmed up to her, which is really saying something as he’s about as anti-​social as they come.
Yvette’s super affordable and perfectly dependable – she has a key to our house, is how much we trust her. Do yourself and your pets a favor and call Yvette. It makes it so much easier to be away from the critters knowing they’re in such capable hands as Yvette’s.

I want to say how pleased I am about The Pet Companion. Yvette takes such great care of my cat, Angel. Yvette is extremely professional and very trust worthy. She loves animals and she is excellent at what she does. My cat, Angel, is not the «friendliest» of cats, but Angel loves Yvette.
I have had Yvette come on a daily basis and I have had her take care of Angel while I’m out of town. In all instances, I can totally tell that Angel benefits with her time with Yvette. She is happier!
You can totally trust the Pet Companion with your pet. They are reasonably priced too! I would not hesitate to recommend Yvette/​The Pet Companion to anyone!

Whenever we need someone else to take care of our two dogs, Yvette is the one. The dogs absolutely love going to her house and hang out with her, her family and her dogs. Every time we pull up in front of her house, the dogs can’t wait to get out of the car and they dart to her front door, excited to be there. Not only is Yvette and her family the most caring people, the fact that the dogs have a real home away from home is priceless. I can recommend the Pet Companion to everyone that loves and cares about their pet.

Yvette is the most caring person you could wish for when it comes to your pets. I have been taking my dog Aisha there for the past five years to sleep over and my biggest problem is that she does not want to come home. The family are all as caring as she is and you know the minute you walk in your pet is going to be cared for and loved. i could not give Pet Companion anything but the highest recommendation. When we first moved to LA from NYC I had the hardest time finding the right dog sitter for our rescue dog, Moose. He still had some residual anxieties from his previous living situations so I didn’t want to board him in a kennel or someone’s tiny apartment with lots of other dogs. I looked high and low for a place where he would feel comfortable, relaxed and at home. I came upon The Pet Companion’s website and it looked perfect– even though it was in Sherman Oaks and we were on the West Side, the trip was always well worth it. Finally finding a place where I knew Moose was well taken care of was a huge weight off my shoulders. Yvette and her family are loving, responsible and Moose absolutely loved it there! Their backyard is a doggie heaven and his insecurities always melted away the second he arrived and was greeted by her sweet dogs. After two years in LA we had to move back to NY for work– and my first complaint was, «Moose is going to miss Yvette so much!!!» Trying to find new dog sitter in NY has reminded me again how lucky we were to have found The Pet Companion. I highly recommend them, they truly are a home away from home!
