As a veggie dog connoisseur(seriously, I’m addicted) I proudly endorse this truck. Can’t go wrong with a veggie dog, cheese, and some jalapenos. I’ve been psyched to see them popping by my work in Encino lately, and managed to get several coworkers to leave their cubes and try them out. They tend to have their schedule up on the website decently early in the week(and usually stick to it) which I can’t always say for other trucks that I love, good food, plus as others mentioned the employees are super friendly.

The wiener factory lives!!! And it’s mobile! I love this truck more than words. Every dog is yummmmmmy. I always get all nostalgic and have to order the works and think of the wiener factory days. But the«stray dog» rocks my world too. I’m kind of a health nut, but I love using all my cheat days and calories at this magical truck. Also worth mentioning, everyone who works on the truck is super nice. Also the fries are damn yummy as well.

Grew up in Sherman Oaks. The Wiener Factory is back. Same great taste, same crew on wheels. The mobile Wiener Factory. Catch up with it! Going back 30+ years, rubbed elbows at the wiener factory with Farah Faucet & David Sole. I understand the 1 and 2 star reviews probably don’t have the history and nostalgia with this dog, but I bet they went back.

The chili cheese dog is the best hot dog in LA hands down. When i took a bite all i could imagine was that I was sitting at the Wiener Factory as that taste was amazing. The Hot dog has that amazing shredded cheese that they hand shave from 50LB blocks. I am so thankful to have you guys back in the valley.

Reunited and it feels soooooo good! The Wiener Factory was my second home as a kid growing up in The Valley. I shed more than a few tears when it closed down in 2007. The Wien brought it all back to life this afternoon! Looking forward to many, many more CCO’s!!!

Wow! I’m not originally from LA and while the city as everything you might desire… there are a couple things i haven’t been able to find yet. Cross off hot dog from the list! I’ve seen this truck in my neighborhood and always wanted to try it. I have a suspicion that the best hot dogs can be found only curb side. Anyway. I even got Trux Map to help me know when it was around. Today… despite every attempt to procrastinate… I finally made it. I’m extremely happy I did. I got the spicy polish sausage and it was impressive… it actually popped with each bite! And! It was actually spicy! Not lazy burn your mouth spicy but actually a slow acting spicy that forced you take deep breaths. Nice! So! Thank you boys for all your effort. You’re a special treat and I’ll definitely not procrastinate next time Trux Map tells me you’re nearby. Now. If can find a good over nite marinated Italian beef sandwich my list of lost foods will be all but empty.

These hot dogs are a good size for a great price. I definitely got two because they looked so good, but there was no need to. I was definitely stuffed after one. The hot dogs are cooked to perfection. Crispy skin and delicious inside. The variety of topping are unique and abundant. You MUST give this place a try. Check out where they’re going to be on their website!

The Wien definitely brings back the heart and soul of the Wiener Factory, and you’d be sorely missing out if you passed up this truck. :) Amazing dogs(with snap, of course) that you can order however you like, piles of cheese, friendly service, sweet facial hair, big orange shiny truck? What else could you possibly want in life? They ride all over LA and SFV like hot dog heroes, and they’ll definitely save your day.

Randomly saw this truck while driving home. Stopped by it, because, why not? Well, luckily it’s delicious! The spicy polish dog is big and delicious(giggidy). Also the chili is wonderful. This place is recommended.

Another food truck gathering, another truck tried, and another winner! I have had pretty good luck with the food trucks and The Wien continues my lucky streak. On this particular evening I decided a Hot Dog would hit the spot and perhaps after I would try another truck. I ordered«The Gunslinger» which is topped with Bacon, Onion Rings, Cheese, and BBQ Sauce. After a short wait my dog was ready, I found a place to sit and took a bite. It was piled high with toppings and on top of that was what look like two fists full of cheese. All those flavors combining in my mouth were so good! After finishing I decided against trying another truck that evening as I didn’t think I could fit much more in, this isn’t just a Hot Dog, it’s a meal, and a good one at that!

Stop if you see this truck! Your taste buds will thank you. Ignore the whiners and other trolls who only complain. Awesome chili cheese dogs!!! Try the bacon wrapped hotdog blessed in sweet BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and onion rings. You’ll discover that The Wien is that missing gem in the food consuming part of your life. While you’re there tell them I sent you ;)

Food truck Tuesday at my work has been a lonely event as of late so I called in my trusty CP to accompany to the Century lot; I needed to get my hot dog on. All of the dogs on this truck sounded amazing so it was hard to make a decision but I eventually settled for the Gunslinger. It’s a bacon wrapped dog with onion rings, bbq sauce and cheese. I asked them to use grilled onions instead of onion rings and they happily obliged. My dog was out in about 5 minutes but when I opened it… where is the hot dog? I can’t find anything under this pound of cheese… **A side note: I have only a few major food groups in my life. They are as follows: corn, sushi, ice cream, booze and CHEESE. These things really matter to me.(maybe not in that order). I freaking love cheese.** Eventually I found the dog underneath all that cheese. I was able to wipe off what looked like roughly 1⁄3 c of cheese and still have a substantial amount on my actual hot dog. When I remarked to CP that there was too much cheese he said, «I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say that!» It’s true. I eat blocks of cheese as a snack. But I didn’t order cheese in a bun. I ordered a hot dog. Moving on… the hotdog itself was very good. I liked the snap it had and I thought they prepared it perfectly with the bacon. The onions and bbq sauce made for a tasty gunslinger experience. But all and all, it wasn’t a hot dog that really blew my mind and I don’t feel any intense desire to have the truck again. Definitely worth it if you are in the area but not anything to go out of your way for.

My brother and I used to drive from East LA to the Wiener Factory as often as we could because they were the best dogs in town. Having tried Wien Truck, they’ve picked up where the Wiener Factory left off. One of the things I always do with new hot dog places is try a plain dog to see if it can hold its own and isn’t relying of funky toppings(think Pinks). The plain dog at The Wien is the shit, hands down… now throw some chili and cheese on that bad boy and I’m in heaven. We celebrated by brothers B-day yesterday and we ordered 17 dogs and some fries. Not only did they nail all 17 orders, but after the drive from Sherman Oaks to East LA the fries were still good & crunchy — they’re not the«Air Fries» Wiener Factory used to do, they’re the double fried Belgian style fries and they held up for the 40 minute commute! So far I’ve had the Crowbar, the Works, plain, and mustard/sour kraut and they’ve all been amazing. Do yourself a favor, even if your slightly interested in them go to their website and give ‘em a try. You won’t regret it… well maybe once you step on the scale the next day, but that’s what treadmills are for!

The employees of the original Wiener Factory have banded together to create this place. I’m especially grateful since the restaurant closed down a while back, but at least we have this now. The hot dogs are just as I remember them. However, they’re more expensive, which is sad. A dog with sauerkraut and onions is $ 5.50. I have to give credit where credit is due, though, their dogs are very tasty and it’s great to have them back in the neighborhood.

OK, I was reading the Daily News the other day, and I read about this truck. Turns out a couple of former Wiener Factory employees started this Hot Dog Truck to recreate the magic. I went right to the truck’s website mentioned in the article to find out where & when I could sample one of these dogs. It said that Sunday at noon it would be parked on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman oaks. I wrote down the info, and waited. Thursday. Sigh. Friday. Sigh. Saturday. Sigh. Finally Sunday came around. We left home at 11:30 for the 10 minute trip. Believe me, I was excited. Sure enough, there was the truck. Looked at the menu… and there it was. Spicy Polish dog, with chili, onions, spicy brown mustard, and cheese. Sounds like the Wiener Factory, right? Could it be??? Flashback to New Year’s Eve, 2007. Closing Day. I remember waiting in that line, ordering my Polish Dog, and wondering if I would ever get to enjoy one again. Well, folks, I’m happy to tell you — It’s Back! They have recreated the Spicy Polish Dog, down to the last detail! The«snap» of the dog as your teeth break the casing. The flakes of red pepper in the dog that you inspect nervously. The florescent orange cheese that partially melts where it touches surface of the dog. Heaven. Today, the world seems a little bit better. The suns shines a little more brightly. There’s a song in my heart. and joy in my soul. Wien Truck — I’ll see you next weekend.

OPENNOTETOVEGETARIANS Their veggie dog is amazing. End of story. So f___ing good, that when you bite into it: YOU W I L L FREAKOUT! You will be all uppity and say: «DUDE! I haven’t eaten meat in years and because of your F___up I just ate MEAT! I just bit into a Hot Dog! Holy Crap! Let me speak to your manager or somebody else in that truck because I’m so pissed that… huh…it’s not meat… Seriously…Dude, It looks, tastes, smells, feels, has the consistency of meat. It even ‘snapped’ when I bit into i-…really…dude are you messing with me just because you screwed up? Be honest… really…Wow…» And you will walk away in disbelief. Still unsure if it was a meat hot dog. But rest assured. It’s veggie. Yes they heard you. Yes it’s okay to eat it. Do not freak out. Have another one instead. Chicago style and don’t forget the celery salt…

I haven’t been out to many trucks lately, due to finances and strict dieting, but yesterday, I had been out and about pretty much all day and night and my poor dog, Roxie, had been home alone for most of that time. So I saw, on Facebook, that The Wien Truck was in the neighborhood for late night, and I thought that I would take her out for a little treat to make up for her being locked up most of that time, with only a few breaks in between as I came home to take her out. Anyway, I gathered up my faithful side-kick and took her out to chase a food truck(She has been to about 7 or 8 of them now). I pull into a red zone, gather the pup, and we order a hot dog with half chili /half plain so I can split it with her. I did not have much time to chat, with the whole red zone parking LOL, but the staff was super friendly! I mentioned I was splitting the dog with my dog and they gave me a plain dog, just for her. That was SOVERYCOOL! Roxie loved her dog and gave it a 2 paws up! My chili dog was good, I really liked the chili on it. Nice flavor. The food was ready very fast so no ticket for me. YAY! I would definitely come eat at this truck again and try one of the other dogs. Preferably when I have time to actually look at the menu and be able talk to the staff more. They seemed very pleasant and said they love animals so that is always a plus for me.

Do you remember a joint called The Wiener Factory on the Boulevard in Sherman Oaks? T. J,. and Lola do – they used to work there and now they run The Wien, a truck that is more or less a tribute to the long lost eatery. I had a Sweet Tooth Dog which is an all-beef Sabrett Dog with mustard, cole slaw, and a mountain of Shredded Cheddar. As long as one uses fresh ingredients, heats and cools and proportions them properly, the ingredients will lend itself to a 5-star dog. All you have to do is not screw it up. T.J. didn’t screw it up, if you liked the Wiener Factory, you will like The Wien Truck. It’s that simple. And if you get a good hot dog it is simply awesome.
