History

Established in 2004.

Nancy Abrams is the owner of The Gifted Collector. After years of collecting novelty teapots (among other things) and an award-​winning career in marketing, she decided to use the knowledge she had gained growing up in her grandmother’s clothing store to open her own collectibles business. The Gifted Collector became known as the place to go for unique gifts, collectibles and Judaica at reasonable prices.

Several successful years at the popular Valley Indoor Swap Meet came to an end when the venerable marketplace was closed at the end of 2007. The new Sherman Oaks store was opened in February 2008.

In December 2010, a fire in the shopping center where the Gifted Collector was located necessitated yet another move and the store can now be found 7 blocks east at the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Beverly Glen/​Tyrone.

In 2013, The Gifted Collector added personalization to its services. Shoppers can now choose from hand painted and/​or engraved acrylic, non-​tarnish silver, wood & glass.

Nancy Abrams, the creator of The Gifted Collector and www​.Gift​ed​Col​lec​tor​.com, has been an avid collector of figural teapots for 30 years.

Nancy began selling novelty ceramic collectibles on eBay in May 2000. The Gifted Collector was opened in September 2003 to provide a brick and mortar presence for her extensive selection of cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, teapots, banks, vases and more. She now offers the largest array of this type of merchandise in all of Los Angeles and even carries some lines that are exclusive to her in the area.
