Silvers has been in business since 1945. We are not a mobile service only, and we back up our work. We strive to serve our clients with respect and courtesy. Our service fees are competitive with service calls starting at $ 45.

We offer a full range of lock services. Including lock installations, master-​key systems, rekey of homes and commercial properties. We also have full line of hard to find keys as well as a complete line of color keys. We also offer professional sharpening service.

History

Established in 1945.

Silvers Locksmith was first opened in 1945 in the parking lot of a super market, right next to a orange grove. Originally closer to the corner of Ventura at Hazeltine. At that time The Valley was just starting out. A lot has happened since and Silvers has grown just as much.

Now after 66 years, due to the march of progress (Ralphs is being rebuilt), we’ll be moving temporarily. Fortunately, we have another location just half a mile from our current one, at 14 445 Moorpark St, Sherman Oaks, CA 91 423. It is just next to the drive thru of In-​N-​Out burger. Please come and visit us at our new store. Just to assure our customers, this move does not change any of the services we offer.

I’m glad to say we already have terms to return to an updated store at the new Ralphs when it opens at the end of 2013 (assuming no delays).

Hello there! I’m the Inside Sales Manager here at Silvers locksmith. I’ve been with the company now since 1994 I am the person you’ll usually find helping customers out at our store, and I’m usually the voice you’ll here when you call. I’ll be glad to cut keys, answer questions, repair your locks, or even make you key for your lock even if you don’t already have one! If you happen to be locked out of your house or car, don’t hesitate to give us a call. I’m the 24hr technician who’ll come to your aid. Very unhappy after calling when I was locked out of my place. I was told someone would be over between 45−1hr, after 1.5hrs I couldn’t reach the locksmith and had to call another local company. No one ever came or called me back to cancel. If it wasn’t for this other company I’d probably still be stuck outside of my apartment.

Tried to get keys made. My wife walked up, was taking the keys off her key ring to be copied, someone inside yelled at her «don’t take the keys off your ring» and then he yelled «I have to go to the bathroom» at her. Huh?

Excellent customer service and the end product worked. I have had duplicates made of my key at Home Depot to get home and discover none of them work. Not the case with Silvers, everything worked to perfection.

What a waste of my time. This business advertises their hours of operation from 9 – 6 M-​F. I was there at 9 am sharp this morning since I have to be at work at 9:30 AM. I waited until 9:15 AM and no one came to open the shop. I figured i could quickly drop off my house key to get a couple of copies and pick them up during my lunch. I was almost late to work waiting for someone to show up.
It’s simple. If you can’t open your shop on time, don’t be in business or change your hours of operation.

They are the best. I have used them for years and was extremely pleased when they had to leave the parking lot at Ralph’s that they relocated nearby. Recently my keys were stolen and since it was possible the thief had access to my address I needed to have all the locks at our home changed. As always, they were prompt, thoughtful, reasonable and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone… and do. Additionally, they are very nice guys.

Stopped in today 1−16−13 to get a key made for a Master padlock, I ended up getting a garage door opener battery & a decorative bullet key chain. I used to go into this shop when it was in the Ralph’s parking lot on Hazeltine Ave. and have ALWAYS been very satisfied with their service & prices. Love to give my business to the smaller local businesses and not the big box stores.

Excellent and reliable service, I called Silvers at 5 PM yesterday to have all our locks changed, and David was at my door in 15 minutes ready for work. He did the job in the time it took for me to prepare dinner, set the table, and enjoy dinner. Well done indeed.

I broke my mailbox key off yesterday in the lock… This morning Rich at this shop convinced me to take the cheapest route and took the time to explain in detail how to remove the lock myself and then go back to his shop and he would then tell me how to re– install it. He was available for a home call tomorrow which was a very reasonble rate but this way he saved me easily a hundred dollars.
And he very easily could have charged whatever he wanted and basically I would have paid it because IT“S THE MAILBOX KEY. an important one to me.
On top of it all — not being a Mr. fix it. i was really proud of myself. Doesn’t get much better.

This review is for key service. I dropped by as a walk in and had to make gate keys made. Our landlord decided to listen to stupid inbred neighbors by no gate code and preventing any deliveries to get in the building. Anyway these guy made the keys quickly and I’ve used them a couple times since. Quick, easy and good service for keys.

I purchased a house in December and had Silvers out to re-​key. I selected them because their prices were lower than the other company I called. They sent a very helpful guy named David and he performed the job.
I am writing this review because of what happened after. It took me 2 weeks to move in because i had to have the whole house painted. Just last week I noticed the front door dead-​bolt didnt work. I thought maybe the painters had messed it up because they had been taking off the hardware to paint. The painters said they never touched the front door. I instantly became worried thinking the locksmith would charge me extra to come back out… how did i not notice the problem for 2 weeks? It would clearly be my fault that I did not notice it sooner. I called Silvers and they sent David back out the next day at no charge. I was very impressed that they didn’t hesitate to make things right and didn’t try to blame someone else for the lock not working. They just came out and fixed it, problem solved.
I recommend this company to anyone and will use them in the future.

These guys are not good at all. I had to find another locksmith that fixed the butcher job that Silvers did to my store front door. The new locksmith couldn’t believe they had the nerve to charge me for what they did. Their faulty work caused a customer to get locked inside my store because the lock would not dis-​engage. When I called for their 24 hour emergency service they provide, they said the tech was in LANCASTER and couldn’t make it for another day. REALLY??? Not reliable at all! Try Elie’s Locksmith in Chatsworth, they fixed the botched Silver’s job, and I highly suggest them instead.

I was sitting in the in-​n-​out line waiting to order at the drive thru and I saw this cute little lock shop and remembered I had to get some keys made. I was the last one in line so I pulled over ran in and gave them the set of keys I needed copies of and told him I would be next door and come back in a few minutes. I got my in-​n-​out fix and keys made at the same time. It was pretty awesome.
I usually get my lock work done down the street at Silvers and the guy behind the counter told me that they are owned by the same guy, which is awesome cause I totally trust them.
