Sherman Oaks 76 Car Care Center

Very excellent gas station located on the corner of Ventura Bl. and Van Nuys Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. Open 24 hours, and also has a repair shop for those needing an oil change or a quick tune up. This 76 also has different prices for cash and debit/​credit card users. If you are looking to save money at the pump, paying with cash is your best bet. Service is quick and easy. They also do smog checks!

I have been taking my car here for years. I always go to Adon (sp?)when I have any car issues. He, along with everyone else there is very helpful.
They fix what needs to be fixed, unlike most car repair shops who always seem to find 10 more issues with my car when I only brought it in for one. With this place, there is no bullshit, they do not create more issues for my car, they fix what needs to be fixed as soon as possible and get the job done within hours.
Super efficient and friendly, I will continue bringing my car here.

Used Unilocal to find local place in Sherman Oaks and one reviewer complained about price and how they charged flat rate but price was $ 14.95 + tax. Personally I’m not taking in a tank in for refill unless it is empty. They were very friendly and honestly appeared to have best price in area. Definitely would come here again for refill.

PROPANE SERVICE — Have gone to get the propane grill tank filled a couple of times over the last 18 months and always was charged for the actual metered amount they put in my tank. But today when I brought in my partially full tank like usual, they informed me that they were now charging a flat rate of $ 24 regardless of how much propane they actually put in the tank. Imagine if they said this to you when you went to fill your automobile gas tank. So I left and they’ve lost a customer.

Don’t you just love when you get your DMV Renewal notice, only to find that yayyyy you need to pay extra for a Smog Check? FML. So about 3 years ago I was the lucky kid to get one of these notices, and yet again — 3 years later I got another notice, wahh wahhhhh. Thankfully I found that this 76 station also does certified smog checks! (I highly suggest you try calling them first to make sure they aren’t crazy busy.)
Located right off Ventura & Van Nuys — this station is usually busy, and a pain in the butt to get in and out of. However it is a convenient location for all us valley folk. The staff who works in the garage are all awesome. Same guy who helped me 3 years ago helped me this past weekend — apparently he’s been there for about 30 years, talk about commitment.
The smog check only took about 30 – 45 minutes. In N Out is across the way so I walked over to grab some lunch in the meantime. After I came back, he gave me all my paper work, I checked out & paid in the mart and I was done. Quick, simple and fast — can’t beat that. Price for my check was about $ 68.00 — weird thing is the last time I got it done they charged me $ 75.00, but I’m not complaining. Definitely use this place if you’re in the area and are the lucky duck who needs to get a smog check on top of paying for your new tags. Happy driving!

I went in here a few months ago and didn’t realize I hadn’t finished my review– I stopped in because it happened to be near my doctor’s office and I *really* needed an oil change. The service was quick and all of the employees were so nice– in colder weather the (shaded) outdoor waiting area could be a deal-​breaker, but in the summer it is actually pretty pleasant. They have a small convenience store staffed by friendly employees, and there is a restroom on site! The mechanic who worked on my car explained what services he performed in detail, and even gave me some advice regarding my (crappy) car’s oil leak.
Coincidentally, I ended up with a job about a block away from this place, so I’m stoked that any time I need an oil change or a quick-​fix I can just drop my car off here :)

I always go to Hector at the full service side whenever my tires are low or I want him to check my fluids in my Audi. Last night my check tire light came on while driving home from work. Hector filled my tires and inspected them and found a screw in my tire. He fixed it right on the spot and then checked and refilled all the fluids in my car! He is very kind and treats customers very well. This weekend I am going to try the repair shop for an oil change, brakes and airconditioning, based on Hector’s recommendation.

I was on my way to a very important appointment in Orange County, my departure timed precariously. But I had a screw in my tire, and a flat. Immediately frantic I headed over to the Just Tires, to find that there were three or four customers ahead of me and an at least two-​hour wait. Yikes! I called the 76 station and was told to come on over, they could help me. No more than 12 minutes later I was zooming down the 405, tire all patched and $ 18 lighter. The service guy couldn’t have been friendlier, and also made some jokes just to improve my stress. («$ 18 for the service, and the screw is free!» hahaha) Due to that experience I actually try to buy 76 gas whenever convenient. Good guys!
