I’m so glad I hired Ross. I was close to spending a ridiculous amount of money on a lawyer, but settled for Ross instead. I’m really glad I did, because he got me reduced charges. I plead out to a Wet Reckless which is so much better than a DUI. I’m really glad I got the result I wanted without spending a fortune. I will be honest and say this review is well overdue! I didn’t know there was a Unilocal page for this amazing lawyer! I was lucky to have found Ross or more like he found me, we all know when you get a DUI the mail that follows by lawyers is overwhelming, well out of the many he was the only one that caught my attention and thank goodness I made that call. The whole process was so easy, I was scared and didn’t know what to expect but Ross is so nice and genuine. I got my DUI in 2011 and still remember how at ease I felt after that call. Had it not been for Ross and his staff the court process would have panned out much differently I got some things knocked off and reduced. To this day when someone mentions what to do for a DUI I say call a lawyer and send them the phone number for Ross. I write this review today after a friend I gave his info to today told me he had great reviews so here I am. On top of that I just received his annual hand written Christmas card in the mail… Every year I get one without missing a beat! Ross Sobel is an amazing lawyer. Being underage with a dui I thought my life was over. Thankfully I was recommended to Ross Sobel he is worth it. I did not get my license suspended just had to pay an infraction that’s better than I even imagined. Mr. Sobel kept me calm and hopeful through the whole process. His energy and positivity really helps the situation, helped me not feel alone but as if we were a team. Hopefully no one I know has to go through a DUI situation but if it would to happen I would say Ross Sobel is the best.

Well… To start off… Ross Sobel, my favorite attorney at law is like family to me. He is the best! Always will be. And he is passionate about his cases! When I faced the judge this past case in court, he made me feel very comfortable, as I was scared outta my booots!!! After being hit by another vehicle and getting into a horrible accident, I was arrested for a Felony DUI because one passenger in my vehicle suffered minor injuries. I had never been in any trouble with the law, so of course I was scared, confused, and just overall freaking out about the whole thing.
Facing felony charges, I knew I needed a good lawyer, especially since a conviction would mean I would lose my job. My mailbox was bombarded with advertisements from several different firms.
I choose Mr. Sobel because 1, unlike other offices, he called me back about 15 minutes after I initially contacted his office. 2, I spoke directly to him, not a legal aid or receptionist. 3, there was no hesitation to take my case, in fact he gave me a quick run down of how things may or may not go. 4, his prices were decent, not suspiciously low, but not outrageously high. 5, he was honest, no sugar coating the situation, we discussed the good, the bad, and anything between.
It was a process that included several court dates, none of which I had to appear at. He was able to get the felony charge taken out of play immediately and I did not have to deal with a DMV case. I had a few freakout moments, mostly from not really understandIng the process and being antsy about the case; Mr. Sobel did his best to be comforting and answered all of my questions. I ended up receiving a glorified speeding ticket and paying a fine.
Overall I am incredibly pleased with my results and the top-​notch service I received from Mr. Sobel. I would, without a doubt, recommended him to anyone who needed lawyer.

I was arrested for .09 DUI and just like everyone else I was scared out of my mind to know what would happen next. I was told by everyone get a lawyer they «might» be able to help and that’s when a friend of mine gave me Ross’s number. Little did I know and to my surprise Ross was about to make this burden a lot less lighter. I contacted Ross and he told me don’t worry we’ll make this better. Ross was my attorney back in 2009, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with his performance. He got all charges dismissed, and didn’t even charge me the full sticker price because of the quick dismissal. He understands that building relationships and treating clients with respect is more profitable than ripping them off. In a world where lawyers are out to make a quick buck and gouge their clients, dealing with Ross was refreshing. Ross is a truly competent attorney, and has inspired me to practice law. Now I’m a law student, and will probably be practicing criminal defense in the not-​so-​distant future. Way to go, Ross.

I can’t speak highly enough of Ross and his associate Sam. I was facing 4 warrants in the same courthouse in LA — including one for DUI– and Ross and Sam were able to get two of my cases dismissed and lesser penalties on the other two. I walked out of the courthouse with my record clean and the ability to get my license back right away. They also worked with me on fees for their services.

Nonetheless, all I can say is that if you are ever in a pickle with anything related to DUI’s, DO NOT hesitate to call Ross ASAP! Acknowledging my own faults with having to deal with the courts/​DMV a second time, Ross kicked some serious a** with getting my sentence reduced and with minimal hiccups to my personal life!
Getting all that overwhelming mail from attorneys following my ‘altercation’, I struck gold in deciding to go with Ross. Yeah, paying for anything unexpected is inconvenient, but I am telling you folks, Mr. Sobel is worth every penny and then some. He is extremely professional, cooperative and takes the time to get to know you and your situation without all the fanfare of useless promises. I can’t express my gratitude to Ross, he did a remarkable job! He took the time to listen and understand my situation. He acknowledged all of the recommendations that I wanted and kept me positive, he is a man of a few words which I liked and he got to the bottom of my problem right away… at the beginning I was having my doubts but then he mentioned people that I personally know in the court… he knew the Judge and prosecutors at the Metropolitan hill court and was a real advocate on my behalf.

Wow, where do I begin? Well, first of all, getting in trouble with the law for any reason is probably one of the scariest experiences. I know that I felt confused, overwhelmed, and found myself thinking the worst. However, once a friend referred me to Ross I looked him up online and found myself reading some of these Unilocal reviews and was still skeptical but feeling better about my case. Once I did finally speak to him he seemed very knowledgable with the DMV I would be doing my hearing with and was able to give me a realistic breakdown of the process I was about to go through. What I really appreciated was how honest and realistic Ross was with me and my parents. While my case was an «uphill battle» he still seemed positive which allowed me to be less stressed out. Ross never made me feel like I was a criminal and helped me to understand the system and what it would take to win my case.
I am writing this review because Ross is an absolute miracle worker! He was able to win my case and keep me driving without any infractions. His knowledge and relationships within LA allowed him to do this AND he was not as expensive as the other attorneys I spoke to! I would absolutely refer Ross to other friends because of how easy it was to work with him and how he kept me in the loop every step of the way!

This man without a doubt is the person you want at your side. Finding a lawyer is a hard decision because you dont know who or what will make the most of your money. I searched many lawyers and can tell the difference with the meetings i had with them. When I first met with Ross, he was very professional and told me EXACTLY what I needed to do and the consequences that could happen to me without sugar coating it like most lawyers can do to hassle your money.
MY CASE WAS A MIRACLE. And for that, I suggested him to all my friends. This is the lawyer you need that wants to help you and not hassle you for your money!

I can tell you that getting Ross is the best money I ever spent! Don’t believe if other people tell you to not bother with a attorney and just use the public defender. Especially after comparing with other fellow DUI-​ers, I know I am very fortunate to have gotten a slap on the wrist compared to others.
All this would not be possible without Ross– I ended up have my DUI reduced to a wet reckless (which means no dreaded socially awkward breathlyser in the car), and overall a lighter sentence than everyone else. Overall I highly recommend that you get a attorney, do not do this solo. And if you get one– get him!
I chose him as he was very knowledgable, confident and reassuring. And i called over a dozen of them. In comparison– there was another attorney I spoke to was more interested in finding out how good was the club scene in Hollywood was that night than about what happened to me. Ross was very PATIENT as he had to explain to both me & my husband individually as I was a mess. A very straightforward, positive & credible lawyer who is very familiar with the court I had to be at and the people who work there.
Be warned that he will make you do some specific prep work (AA meetings, letter of recommendations, volunteer) — but this will all pay out when he pleads your case in court. Do not slack off on that– I got off so easy compared to what my fellow DUI-​ers thanks to all that work. Of course the outcome will be different for all but having him as my attorney who’s got my back made a big positive difference.
Very reasonable rates– especially compared to the thousands of dollars some are charging. And please do not go with the cheapest attorney out there– they will just turn up in court to plead guilty on your behalf without making any effort to assist your case. Highly recommended from me!
I wish there were more real information out there about what to do if you get nailed for a DUI– so hopefully this review is of some help to someone else like me– (who had to do the chicken dance at 4am in the morning). It’s no fun, but when shit hits the roof– we just have to deal with it :)

At first I was a little skeptical with Ross Sobel’s credibility just because he wasn’t as expensive as every other lawyer, but I did my research on Unilocal,random google search, and spoke to him on the phone and he seemed very legit.
As soon as I mentioned which court I was going to, he was very knowledgeable with the jury, the judges, and all the other unimportant people we don’t care about but unfortunately the law does. So at that moment, I knew he was credible from the get go, because it proves he has worked on numerous cases and knew what he was talking about. He seems to keep a great relationship with lots of the Court people so they work well with him as well.
Before considering Ross Sobel, I called a couple of other lawyer but most of them were socially awkward and not that great with people skill or guests relations, or it was obvious they just wanted the $$ and not try that hard to beat the case for the individuals. But Ross Was different, before I even told him I wanted him as my lawyer, he was kind, and helpful with the whole process asking details about the incident, and what I should and shouldn’t do etceteras. He seemed like the right one for me, so I decided to go with him.
Throughout the whole process, Sobel did my whole DMV Hearings, and checked up on me with any concerns and questions I had for him, such as DMV license being revoked, and how much it would costs, etceteras.
He is a busy man, so when he doesn’t pick up the phone when you call him, just leave a message and he definitely always gets back to you on time.
I’m writing this review now because I am excited that my DUI with a blow of .116 and the legal limit being .08 was proven NOT GUILTY, and I got off without getting a DUI.
Ross Sobel is an amazing man, and I definitely work in the industry with lots of Alcohol involved, so if any of my friends or acquaintance I know received a DUI I will DEFINITELY forward them to Ross Sobel!
BTW I paid less than 1,500 for this, and most lawyer charges Over $ 2,000~3,000. I do believe in Karma and which is why I’m taking the time and effort to spread his word so others can be rescued with a BETTER possibility for success like I received.

After talking to several attorneys, Mr. Sobel was the only one that was not pressuring me into hiring him. I appreciated his thoroughness, professionalism and compassion. Being arrested for a DUI is emotionally painful and embarrassing, but Mr. Sobel highlighted my conviction /​charges with optimism and didn’t make false promises. I also appreciated the fact that he was extremely proactive even before my court date. He was very informative, helpful and ultimately an outstanding person to work with.
