Eric D. Shevin, Esq. practices State and Federal criminal law as well as advising businesses in the emerging cannabis industry. Mr. Shevin obtained his Bachelors degree at San Diego State University in 1989 and his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1992. Mr. Shevin’s passion has always been based on a dedication to freeing all marijuana prisoners and providing honest and ethical advice and representation to achieve the best possible outcome for a client’s matter.

Eric has provided me with superior results!

I wanted to publicly thank Erik Shevin.
The gray area between state and federal cannabis laws is incredibly murky.
I wound up in the gray area of California’s confusing and often scary legal system.
I Had originally sought to retain another attorney who on our very first meeting asked me if i had $ 25,000 in my briefcase that i was carrying when i went to meet him for the first time. When i said no, he told me to come back when i do!
My point is that when i met Mr. Shevin for the very first time i felt like he truly had empathy for what i was experiencing and going thru. He listened to every word i said and offered advice and counsel on what we could do. immediately i knew i had found the right attorney. He asked me what i wanted to accomplish, and told me how much it would cost, and the price never changed from when i first met with him until we walked out of with all charges dismissed against me. It was the first time i had been able to take a deep breath and relax since before they put the cuffs on me and charged me with a felony.
This man knows the cannabis world and laws better than most. I was surprised at how at ease he is inside the court room, that’s because he knows what he is doing and he knows what needs to be done.

The best attorney in town!
I had an ongoing legal issue with a neighbor and business partner and was at my whits end with how to deal with the harassments and legal threats. I was literally losing sleep at night and my health was being affected by all the problems.
I met Mr. Eric Shevin and he was quick to put a stop to my multiple legal problems. When I first met him, the confidence in which he said, «I make problems go away», got me on board and by no surprise I retained him as my attorney soon thereafter.
Soon after resolving my first set of legal problems another legal issue arose with an incompetent contractor. The case quickly settled in my favor and the problem went away. Again, Mr. Shevin proved how effectively he can handle a wide range of legal issues.

Eric Shevin has provided me with excellent council in both criminal and civil marijuana law. Eric has the knowledge, experience and network it takes to deliver results for his criminal clients.
Eric has the courtroom success in both State and Federal criminal court that is necessary to advise a marijuana company in CA about minimizing risk. Many claim to have systems that work, but few have put those systems to the test at trial. The stakes are higher than most realize in CA, and Eric is a pro when it comes to building business systems that will win if challenged.
California is not like Colorado. Having council like Eric on your side in this business can mean the difference between prison and freedom.

Starting a medical evaluation company. Found this guy online. Expected him to be knowledgeable and responsive to business owners/​entrepreneurs. Canceled first appointment, stating he was in «federal court». The day finally came for the rescheduled appointment, but 20 minutes after our scheduled meeting his assistant comes out to apologize, stating «he’s stuck in federal court». Not even aware that this was the second time he canceled, his assistant informed us that he was well versed on all legal issues and could help up and would not charge us (as if id let him). Starting asking about the new bill up in the senate SB1262 and he knew nothing about it. Texted Shevin who said he knew nothing about it either. Total waste of our time. This guy might be able to help get you a light sentence or keep you out of jail but of you’re looking for legal advice for your current business or startup go elsewhere. Save your time and your money…
