I went to this theater despite the bad reviews. I’m not a picky person and how bad can a movie theater be?
The theater is small and the seats are ok, but that’s not the problem.
I went to go see Captain America Civil war, maybe 20 other people in the audience with me, 30 minutes left in the movie the power goes out. Ok, power goes out, not the theater’s fault, things happen. HOWEVER, I sat there for a few minutes, no employee came in to tell us what was going on or when the movie would come back on. So I go to check in with them and they barely gave me an answer. I just asked when they thought the movie would be back on. Both employees mumbled something then one finally said «in a few minutes» by now it had been about 20 minutes since the power went out. I go back to my seat wait another 10 minutes then finally the screen turns on, another 10 minutes go by before the movie comes back on but with no sound! So I sit there for another 10 minutes watching a silent movie. After about an hour the movie finally got back on with the sound working.
The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact not once did an employee come tell the theater what was going on or update us about when the movie would start. No offer of popcorn or something for us to wait a whole hour while they fix what’s going on. What it comes down to is the awful costumer service, and you really don’t need a lot of customer service when it comes to a movie theater. I will definitely never be returning to this theater

Don’t see a movie here. We came to Mad Max and the print was not watchable. The sound cut in and out. No refund was offered, only excuses. If the movie was a discount price that would be fine, but it was $ 9 for a matinée. Of a broken, scratched, awful screening of an action movie. Pacific Theaters should shut this location down. This theater is in a slow, sad march towards death. Spend your money elsewhere.

I love this theater. It’s small and dated but charming and a great place to see a movie in quiet and uncrowded theater. The staff are always really friendly and there is plenty of parking.

Had an overall bad experience here when I saw «In The Heart of The Sea».
First off, their thing is second-​run movies that have been out for a couple months already… so I came here expecting bargain prices like other second-​run theaters in LA. Nope. They charge $ 10.75 for a single ticket evening showing. These same movies were playing for $ 3 at the Regency Noho and $ 4.50 at the Simi Valley 10. Concessions were not cheap as well– just as expensive here as an AMC or Arclight.
Concessions and tickets were being sold by the same person, so after a customer purchased their tickets, they would then order nachos/​popcorn/​soda/​etc. and the employee would have to run around and get those ready while other customers, who had no desire to buy concessions, had to wait just to get a ticket. On a Saturday night, it took us fifteen minutes to get through a line of six or seven people.
No trailers were played before the movie, which normally I wouldn’t care too much about, but because of the long line, I entered the theater five minutes after showtime to discover the movie was well under way which was very annoying.
There was a rip/​blemish in the upper-​center of the theater screen which was a bit annoying at times, but for the most part wasn’t too distracting. Also, maybe I’m being OCD/​ADD here, but there was a huge red EXIT sign dead center right underneath the screen that would jump out at me every time there was a darkly-​lit scene.
Overall, there are much better options for second-​run movies in LA.

I’ve been coming to this theater since the 90’s when it used to be a GCC theater. Back in the day this place was state of the art. There was another GCC Theater across the street, (where Best Buy is now), that had two huge auditoriums where the big blockbusters were shown. Weekends rolled around and it was almost impossible to get a ticket unless you were 45 minutes early.
Flash forward 20 years, and you can see that the Pacific 5 has fallen on tough times. The staff is pretty friendly and the place is generally pretty clean, but the carpets are threadbare in spots, and the projection and sound quality aren’t exactly top notch. Still, for a neighborhood theater it’s hard to beat. We have started to call it the haunted theater, since it’s a little spooky for a weeknight show when you’re the only one in the theater. Still, it’s a pretty good value and if you don’t mind seeing a movie that’s been out a few weeks, (ummm months), it’s not bad. No idea how much longer this place will stay in business, but I’ll miss it when it’s gone.

Watched Crimson Peak, the movie was great but the sound quality was poor due to bad sound system. The seats and screen were small yet intimate and clean. Quality of speakers should be fixed

Horrible. I went to complain to the manager but no one was around. At all. Like no workers. I called out and even took video as I walked around trying to find anyone to take my complaints.
The trouble began when we went to buy our tickets and the time online said 6:30 but when I arrived at the ticket counter it said 6:40 and I asked «oh is it at 6:40?» The clerk replied «no it’s 6:30!» I pointed out that the print out says 6:40 and he just said «well it’s probably wrong!» Great customer service.
Then the movie started out of focus and never quiiiiiite got it clear. That coupled with the 8,000 scratches on the film/​projector and the super quiet audio were enough for me to make a mental note to complain when the movie was over.
The TOPPER was that as soon as the credits started the projector shut off and the lights came on. This is a FREAKING MARVEL MOVIE where there are scenes during credits geniuses! Not to mention it’s disrespectful to the people that worked on that film to not let the credits play.
If you are going to provide such a low grade experience you need to adjust your prices. It’s not cheap to go to this theatre so don’t give us a cheap experience.

An old-​school, 5-​screen theater that evokes the cinematic memories of my youth. Sure, it’s not the most glamorous theater, but that’s part of its charm. Comfortable seats and every room has a balcony. Plus, on a Wednesday afternoon, I was literally the only person inside. Having my own private screening was more than worth the small admission price.

I like this theater. Live in the area and I love the fact it’s a small theater with lots of parking so it’s not crowded!!!
They do some times need some help as there only one person at the counter (been here typically at night)

This Theater is great at what it does.
It’s a smaller theater that has really good prices that let you enjoy yourself and buy some extra food.
They are the only theater I know with a balcony and it is a really cool place to take friends. They still run 35 mm film and it has a really nice aesthetic to it. I saw Inherent Vice here and the vibe was perfect. It’s nice to know that there is still a place that uses that classic technology.
Yeah this is no IMAX HD theater but it doesn’t try to be. The friendly staff and sometimes EMPTY theaters make for a very personal and warm experience that will turn you into a regular at this theater.

The movie was so blurry I thought I was watching a 3D movie without the glasses.
I know it sounds like I am being nit-​picky but everyone in my group (4 of us) said the same thing.
The projector in theater 4 needs to be adjusted by a professional. The picture was VERY CLEARLY not focused (you can even see a double image along the top edge of the screen) the brightness of the movie was pulsing throughout the movie, and the screen is not very big to begin with. It was so out of focus it was difficult to read the credits… That isn’t because it’s a film print. It’s because the projector has a problem.
I left the theater with a headache and had a hard time paying attention to the movie because of the terrible picture quality.
Movie was Mission Impossible Rogue Nation, on opening weekend.
The Century 8 theater down the street just had a huge remodel. I would suggest going there. Prices are the same.
I feel bad ripping a local theater, but if they get their act together I wouldn’t be against revising my review.

Easy parking. Staff was very friendly. The seats we had need replacing (theater 5, back row, on the end). But a nice neighborhood theater that is priced better than many others.

NO WAY!!! — *** Dirty –theatre was not cleaned in between showings. ***Unattentive– bathrooms, carpet & theatre seats were a mess. Seats with holes in them & would squeak. –Yes it’s cheaper, convenient, free parking but the ***STALE popcorn & crackle & fuzz in the picture overpowers that plus, which is the only reason for the 1 star. Comments below said it’s great because there aren’t any crowds, but my list above could be the reason why.
HELP! **movie theatre rescue — so much potential

I feel like I can’t even rate this as a 1 star because the movie never actually played. The talent member was unable to print the tickets and only two minutes of the movie played before the projector apparently ate the film. I definitely wouldn’t waste your time. Go anywhere else. Seriously… anywhere.

Paid 10 bucks. Wrong movie started which delayed our movie about 15 – 20 minutes. Theatre wasn’t cleaned properly: the same employee that we purchased our tickets from was also manning the concession stand and cleaning theaters between showings. During the last 15 minutes of the movie, the digital projector that plays commercials before the movie kicked on and played over the rest of the movie.
I’ve been to plenty dollar and second run theaters and this experience definitely stands out. The picture and sound quality was alright though, enough to not disengage from the movie. Theatre antics aside, not a bad place to catch a movie before it leaves the theatre. If nothing is going to be done to improve the quality of service then they should, at the very least, lower their prices to reflect the value.

This theater is nearly always empty. Perfect for those times you feel like watching a movie while enjoying a tuna fish sandwich.
Note: BYOTunaFishSandwich, otherwise you are stuck with the sub par selection of dried out popcorn and HFCS candy.

I come to this theater as my last resort or when I want to watch a movie no one carries anymore. Last time I came here was for Jurassic World on opening weekend just because all the other good theaters were completely sold out for the day. The staff is nice but the theater itself is old, disgusting & picture quality kind of sucks. On a regular basis this theater only has a handful of customers at a time so if you hate crowds this is the place for you! Maybe if it were cheaper I’d come here more often, definitely not worth 10.75 a ticket, rather go to a functional theater at that price.

We came here to watch a late night movie at 10pm. At the high point of the film the sound system were completely screwed up and all the lines couldn’t be heard clearly. I ran out for help. The entire place was a ghost house at that time. I ran up and down all three floors a few times hoping to find a human being.
There was a printed sign with phone number at the popcorn desk. So I called the number and wow, there was a voice on the other side! I described the problem and asked if they can roll the film backwards for the lost 15 minutes. The answer was «no.» The sound was instantly clear.
Well, if you pay $ 10.50 to see a movie would you be willing to skip 15 minutes of the plot? Beside, this place is one of those old-​style two-​deck theatre. If you are sitting down stairs, the screen is much too high for visual comfort.
Extreme renovation and professional management are needed. I was going to give one-​star! I’m nice, and I hope they will be, too.
