Michael’s Custom Clothes

I’ve been reading some of these post, and I agree with Bolsius. I too, had a bad experiences. The price of the suits, far out weigh the quality of the Tailoring.

Was measured for custom made slacks. When they arrived they were not to my specifications. Michael refused to remake and I had to take him to small claims court. He lost and now refuses to honor the courts judgement.
Go elsewhere…

Do yourself a favor and just buy your suit from the Mall. Michael is dishonest and a compulsive liar. The services that he does provide is taking people’s money. I ordered over $ 4000 worth of suits from Michael all of which were made incorrectly and too small. Michael has refused to except responsibility for the items and I’m currently going through a chargeback dispute with him and my credit card company. If you look it every other review that Michael has he blames the customer for every mistake that he makes. It’s always your fault that your pants don’t fit, it’s always your fault that the jacket wasn’t made to specifications, it’s always your fault that he does whatever he wants. Michael would be better suited for making clothes tailored to children that would only be worn once or twice. It’s very heartbreaking to spend over $ 4000 on clothes and you can’t wear a single item and the merchant refuses to contact you back to resolve the issue. Michael avoid your phone calls and dodge any attempts that you make to resolve the issue. He uses his no return no exchange policy to justify and bully you into excepting the order as is. I’m surprised he is still in business with his Bullying tactics. Again if you do decide to do business with him just know what to expect. Bad business and terrible customer services. If you value your money as much as I do PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this dishonest merchant.

Had the most wonderful experience with Michael and his staff! Getting married in October and he helped design and customize a beautiful suit that makes me feel sexy and feminine. The fabric selection is vast and the fabric I chose looks and feels expensive. My suit is constructed well and I would highly recommend Michael!

I fell the «package deal» and instead of loosing out on one suit, it was a much more costly mistake.
The quality is not bad, but the fit is terrible. Everything was way, way too big. They did remeasure, and rework the suits/​shirts, and did get closer, but it took me standing there listening to them tell me what I did wrong, and why they didn’t fit was my fault. They sill are too big to even wear, and because they way they stitch your name into the liner it can’t be removed so I can’t resale any of these suits. Such a costly mistake. Please don’t make the same one.
Update: the sales phone calls won’t stop, and the customer service is all but non existent.

I Have used Michael for over 5 years now and do not have a bad word to say about his service and the Quality of his work. I love all the suits and shirts that he has made for me over the years. He made my custom suit for my wedding wish was featured on «Platinum Weddings» (It’s available on iTunes just search Platinum Weddings season 5 «Naomi & George»). The suits he has made me have been featured in many photo shoots, videos, red carpet events, & live shows. I have posted a few pictures on the photo section of his Unilocal page so you can see the amazing Quality and Detail of his work. Michael is always friendly and up to date with current styles and trends and pleasure to work with.
Well worth the money you will spend on a Suit that will be unique and well made.

I ordered my only custom suit ever from Michael’s a few years back and in hind sight, the whole experience was awful. After the several weeks that it took for the suit to be made in Asia, it arrived and I tried it on: It was HUGE. Michael said «Wow! You’ve lost weight!» The problem is that I had actually gained weight. The suit was so grossly wrong in sizing that it was baggy and about 3 sizes too big. Michael said no problem — we will get it altered to fit. The problem is, the adjustments made leave tell-​tale unevenness in the suit. It looks like a size 48 suit that was put through heavy alterations to make it fit a size 40. To add insult to injury, the custom panel on the inside where my name is embroidered has the text of my name curving down-​ward to fit since they ran out of space. I was told it would be fixed but it never was.
The suit is the only custom one I’ve ever ordered yet every one of my off-​the-​rack suits fits so much better. This is also the most I’ve ever paid for a suit. I’ve barely ever worn the suit because of the bunching of material where it was altered to fit just looks BAD. I didn’t notice it until the first time I wore it out with my girlfriend (now my wife) and she pointed out «Wow! I don’t know who altered this suit, but they did a BAD job. It’s all bunched at the seams.»
I don’t know if it has gotten any better in the past few years, but I’ve written the experience off as I was taken for a ride.

I love this place, and I love my experience with Michael.
First off, you have to realize that the experience is interactive, and that you take on a certain responsibility when you are a customer here. These are not off the rack suits at Nordstroms that come back in 3 days. The first jacket I bought took over an hour of discussion for what I wanted. Even then, I needed to have it adjusted twice. It takes work, but in the end, it’s also work sifting through unoriginal, overpriced, one-​size-​fits all suits at Nordstroms.
You can basically find any style you want here. I have a more modern/​causual taste, and I find fabrics here that you can’t get in stores. Especially linen jackets. The cost is about 20% more than stores, but the selection and fit are 50% better.
Shirts are incredible and about $ 20 more than what I can find elsewhere, after you factor in additional tailoring costs elsewhere. People who don’t get tailored shirts usually look sloppy. Unless you happen to have the exact perfect body type for the shirt you happen to be buying. I pay about $ 90 for each shirt, and they fit perfectly and the fabric is far better quality than anything I’ve ever found at a store.
A real custom tailor charges $ 3k-​$ 5k for suits and this is not that. We’re talking $ 500-​$ 1.5k per suit, depending on the fabric, and for what they sell, it’s an awesome service.
I’m glad I found them.

They promised two suits. One never showed up. The second one was a joke, tailored terribly and made from cheap materials, not what I had ordered. They did charge my credit card and we are fighting to get our funds back. When we sent them the suit back they lied to Fedex and said they did not have a business at their address. They are dishonest and do terrible cheap work. Dont buy from this business!

STAY AWAY! I met with them on one of their trips to the NY area and purchased a suit and 2 shirts. When the clothes arrived, the suit was WAY too large. The waist on the pants was about 6 inches too large and the jacket was several sizes too big. Every time I have called them trying to resolve this they were confrontational, tried put the blame on me and make excuses. They refused to issue a refund and generally made me feel unappreciated (certainly not like a customer). They asked that I mail the suit back and it would be altered. It did so, but there is only so much alterations you can do to a suit that is way too big before it just looks funny. After two sets of alterations the suit still looks terrible and they could care less. Long story short — BUYER BEWARE! Truly sneaky, nasty people.
