experience for me — total stress free. Chartwell escrow is the BEST!

BUYERS, SELLERS AND AGENTS BEWARE!!! This is the worst escrow company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. As mentioned by prior reviewers it is owned by John Aaroe Group. It is a coin toss as to which was worse the listing agent or escrow officer Nate in the West Hollywood office.
The seller selected this escrow and the buyers had to suffer through this closing. They do not return calls, they rarely respond to emails and they could not even get the name of the brokerages correct. The only thing Nate is good at is pointing the finger at anyone else and refusing to take responsibility for his errors.
The listing agent vanished prior to closing. The home was to be delivered vacant at the close of escrow but the buyers refused to leave and their agent was no where to be found.

I work with numerous Escrow Companies for work and sadly Chartwell is not up to par. The closing documents have been almost 4 weeks late. Many phone calls, messages, and emails have been ignored. A process which usually takes a week or less with other Escrow companies has taken four times longer. I hate writing negative reviews. but looking at the other reviews on here, I see that they need to make some improvements.

Very rude service. Some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.
This review goes out to all sellers/​buyers — who have had a bad experience with a real estate transaction, as well as with an escrow company. That was my nightmare experience with Chartwell Escrow and the John Aaroe Group with its listing agent, Brian Mazurkiewicz. is my understanding from Brian Mazurkiewicz, who is employed as a listing agent in the West Hollywood office of John Aaroe Group that John Aaroe is part owner of Chartwell Escrow.
According to the recommendation of Brian Mazurkiewicz, I signed up with Chartwell Escrow for the escrow services in connection with the sale of my former home in May of 2013. Horrible service.
Chartwell Escrow — to this date, I still have not received all my closing documents, because I todld Chartwell Escrow to send it to my former home to be forwarded to by the post office. The documents should have been forwarded to my new address (that I was not willing to disclose)! What does the public think about that! All I have is emailed documents from Chartwell Escrow that most do not show me any signatures of the buyer.
YES, John Aaroe, Brian Mazurkiewicz and Chartwell Escrow still continuing to do business and who knows how many sellers/​buyers went through the nightmare that I went through!

LISTEN UP LOS ANGELES! This review should be read by any future seller/​buyer about my nightmare experience with Mr. John Aaroe, John Aaroe Group, Fran Hughes Reynnolds, along with its employed listing agent, Brian Mazurkiewicz.
Mr. John Aaroe where were you when I needed your help? You were nowhere to be found! Mr. Aaroe simply refused to get involved and passed this matter to Fran Hughes, the Branch Manager and an attorney. Isn’t that nice?
Interesting to note that: Mr. John Aaroe, John Aaroe Group also has an office downtown with a website called LA Lofts Realty, (
) but the bottom is that it is a John Aaroe Group office. It has a raving review of Fran Hughes, who is also the Branch Manager of LA Lofts Realty. Mr. John Aaroe and Fran Hughes Reynolds in charge and responsible for the Downtown Los Angeles. This review goes out to everybody to inform the public that Mr. Aaroe and Fran Hughes allowed this activity to go on with the sale of former home. My transaction went through Chartwell Escrow, partly owned by Mr. John Aaroe!

My former home has now been torn down to the frame and completely being remodeled. Yet, Brian Mazurkiewicz is still advertising all over the internet my former home with all the pictures of my former that is not even existing.
In addition, the home is listed as «POCKET LISTING» for sale at $ 949,00 for a previously sold home in 2013. It is nothing, but a come on for business! Who is he trying to fool? The future prospect?
The pocket listing was removed after speaking with the attorney for John Aaroe on May 14, 2014. The house was torn to the frame and remodeled and now selling for $ 1,679,000.
It is all about how much money «we are going to make on someone with as little work as possible.»
It doesn’t matter if the realtor does not fully have the best interest of the seller in a «dual agency» representation (it is okay). It is about the «COMMISSION TO BE MADE.»
It is all good about becoming a DUAL AGENT and not explaining what that is all about (since I was a first time seller) and it is all good about not attempting to do a COUNTER OFFER TO GET THE SELLER ADDITIONAL MONEY — because now we represent the seller and the buyer!
However, it was okay to do a COUNTER OFFER on the first offer — where the buyer was represented by another agent! What is your opinion about this? This is exactly what happened to me.
Again, everything that have been written here is the one hundred percent (100%) truth and nothing was made about the sale of my home and escrow services through Chartwell Escrow and the John Aaroe Group.
I am exercising the freedom of speech here to educate the future buyers/​sellers to learn from my real estate transaction! I hope that I have been of much help here.

This escrow company was designated by the seller in a purchase transaction, we were on the Buyer side.
OMG
From day 1 there was a problem with return phone calls, I heard every excuse in the book and when all the excuses were used up, very easy, just don’t return a call or email.
These people should not be in business. If this name pops up as a preferred escrow, run don’t walk.
Client was a first time buyer, and I had to continually make excuses and say that all escrow companies are not created equal, some are great and some deserved to be flushed away and go out of business.
