They do bathe cats. Only at 9am. And only on tuesdays and thursday. yippee. good for them. Doesn’t impress me at all. Even sounds like they don’t even care.

I’m always very satisfied with the work of this groomer. I’ve taken my dog to other groomers before and they charge a great deal for not doing as good of a job or just generally not doing a fantastic job, but AJ’s gets the job done including all the fancy stuff (ear hair, anal gland, nails, etc) for the same price, if not less.
Other groomers are also not so careful and sometimes accidentally hurt the animal, but I’ve always found myself going back to this place and being very happy with their work. I don’t trust many people or places with my pet, but I do here.
***i would also like to add that after reading some of the one star reviews listed, I realized the majority of these costumes are complaining about the lady being rude and although that’s definitely a negative, the point of the matter is you want to bring your pet someplace that will deliver good results, end of story. Who gives a sh** if the lady is «rude.» These people can groom !!!
If you’re looking for a groomer that you want to trust and do a great job on your pet, I would highly recommend this place.
You definitely get what you pay for here.

I took my two dogs to AJ’s in October. And now about 7 weeks later my terrior mix, who I groom about 2 times a year needs another hair cut because the cut is growing out so poorly. He looks more like a lion then a dog. What’s so hard about blending the length of the hair so it grows out like any hair cut should? I called to see if the staff at AJ’s could help me, they offered to do a bath and brush, trim his face and feet, does that sound like what I need? NO. Or another hair cut, full price, mind you… I’ll be taking my business somewhere else. Too bad, I live near AJ’s and like to support local businesses.

Ok… My puppy Cinderella went here once before with her regular nanny. She looked cute and fine so I made a second appointment and was greeted by a lady who seemed nervous. She was Jose Cindy had «matted» hair– but … She didn’t. Her legs had some small tangles, easily shaveable. She criticized me for not taking care of Cindy forever and made up that they couldn’t take her… I over heard her ask the lady about combing her, and she said she would rather shave her/​duh. Then came back and said the same sob story about the matting and neglect. I spend thousands of dollars on Cindy and she likes to play and this was just annoying. Finally after I was upfront with her about. Ok so what r u going to do with her… She handed her back and was like we can’t take her. Bye… Ok crazy.

I went to AJs for about 3 years and was happy with them. It’s family owned and the owner is very friendly and made me feel like it was a personal and caring relationship. The groomer, Stacy, was more businesslike, not friendly, not unfriendly. She did what i asked. My dog has long wavy fine hair and i would only get it cut in the summer, to cool him off. Despite efforts to control it, i could not keep his ears from getting matted. He was extremely resistant to any brushing of his ears, even when not tangled.
The second to last time i went to AJs, i got a call from them while they were working on my dog, telling me his ears were so matted that when they cut off the mats, he might be dizzy from the change in weight. I’d never heard of anything like that. When i picked him up, he looked good, no more matts. He never showed any sign of dizziness or not feeling right. He was his exuberant normal self. He’s a healthy happy active dog.
So, the last time i brought him in, several months later, his ears were matted again. Each time i go to the groomer, i never just drop my dog off, i wait until the groomer is free to talk and i go over what i want and don’t want. It’s not rocket science. i want his hair cut the same length all over, using the hair on his back as a guide, since it’s the right length by nature, for a summer cut. It’s about 2 inches long. i do not want the hair on the ears, feet or tail cut at all. That’s it, not complicated. But with two previous groomers, by taking it for granted that they understood what i wanted, i ended up with what i didn’t want. One cut the hair on his tail short and now, 4 or more years later, it still hasn’t grown back to the length it was before. So i learned from experiences to just go over what i want with the groomer each time. It takes less than 60 seconds.
So, the last time i went to AJs, i waited to talk to the groomer. She looked at my dog and said he was too matted for what i wanted and that the ears had to be shaved. I was shocked by that, he is a long haired dog and would look weird with his ears shaved. i told her i wanted to research it before having it done and i went home to google it and see if there were any alternatives. i was so surprised because he’d always had mats and this never came up before. My research confirmed what the groomer said so i made another appointment.
When i went in, first, she said the ears had to be shaved. I said i understood that, i had read up on it, she was right and i accepted it. Then i brought up the rest of the hair cut, as usual pointing to the hair on his back which is a couple of inches long and asking that he be cut that length all over, but don’t cut the tail or feet hair. At that point, the groomer got very impatient and hostile. She said his whole body needed to be shaved. ?? When i asked her why, because there were hardly any mats on the rest of him, she said, «I don’t have time to talk to you about this.» She was rude and it was uncalled for. I have never been anything but polite, and i politely asked why he needed to be shaved all over. That’s when she got mad. She again said something about his ears being shaved, as if i was disagreeing, as if i hadn’t already told her i agreed about the ears. While i stood there shocked at the way she was talking to me, she told me not to come back there anymore. I already knew i did not ever want to bring my dog there again. i don’t know what was wrong with this person. PMS?
There was no need to talk to me in the manner that she did. i was never anything but respectful to her. She could have politely said she did was not capable of cutting my dog’s hair the way i wanted and asked me to find a different groomer. Instead she was very unprofessional and inappropriate.
I found another groomer, from Unilocal,excellent reviews, long wait list for an appointment. i told them i knew the ears needed to be shaved. i asked if they could leave the hair that wasn’t matted. I was told yes, the shaving could be «camouflaged.» When i picked my dog up later, his ears had not been shaved at all, they managed to remove the matts without shaving, as other groomers have done before. The feeling of care is like going from one extreme to the other, after AJs. I’ve been back there three times and despite matts, there has never been talk of shaving, and my dog looks great, so… If AJ’s had a different groomer, i would recommend them and give 5 stars, based on how i was treated by the owner, Lisa, but the groomer, Stacy, is not someone i would recommend leaving a pet with because she has some kind of mental problem, causing her to act impulsively (bipolar? borderline?), so why leave a pet with someone like that? Several other reviews have related similar problems with rudeness. That’s no way to do business. i’m tempted to give 1 star due to the groomer being way out of line, as well as giving wrong advice on the shaving, as my new groomer has not needed to.

Five years later we have a new dog and I am so glad AJ’S is still going strong! Lisa is fantastic and we are very grateful to have such a loving and knowledgable groomer:)

PLEASE READ! I took my 3 dogs here to be groomed I have been coming here since 2014 never had a problem ! I picked them up on ⁹⁄₄ they looked fine ! The next couple of days my goldendoodle began to act strange very clingy and seemed sick! I noticed he had a huge raw spot on his tail I quickly put a cone on him so he wouldn’t chew on it ! Brought him to the vet the next day and it was a hotspot that got infected caused by the bath from the previous day at the groomers ! We then saw our bichon also was not feeling well and she also hd a hot spot under her chin which was huge ! We called and went into the groomer to notify and she claimed she is not liable and was very defensive. I would never want to bring my dogs to someplace where someone cared more about the buisness and money more than they cared about my animal and wanting to do the right thing and pay for the vet bill at least ! Just to show that you have some compassion for how horrible my dogs had felt and how much pain they were in !
If you want your animals to be treated right don’t send them here she obviously only cares about taking your money attached are pictures of our dogs.

I am Very happy with this groomer. The dog is happy and always looks adorable. Her ears don’t get flooded with water and they cut only what I ask. The price is good. I recommend.

I have only taken my dog Jaxson to the same place since he was born. So of course I had high expectations. I recently moved, so I was looking for a new place for grooming. From the first phone call, I could tell that the staff was passionate about thier job. Jaxson came out looking like a king! I was very impressed, this will definitely be our regular place from now on :)

Called to get a quote for my Maltipoo and the girl on the phone didn’t even know what a Maltipoo is. I don’t think I’ll be bringing my dog to a place where they think I’m bringing in a cockatoo.

I have been bringing my dog to AJ’s for about a year. I went to a few other places before I found Lisa. I hit the jackpot with her. My dog Cosmo always looks beautiful when I pick her up. They take their time grooming her and I have yet to be displeased. I would definitely recommend AJ Grooming to anyone. I give them a 5 star and I love this place.

I am so glad that I discovered AJ’s Groomers a year and a half ago (and so are my two big dogs)! Our monthly visits for baths and a trim are positive, fun times for Dante and Amber, who trot right up to the shop door, ready to visit with the great people inside.
All of the groomers take special care to make sure the dogs are not only beautiful, but they also look for signs of any foxtails/​hotspots/​problems under «all that fur»!

When I rescued my mini poodle, I had tried two other groomers, but after nearly four years, I wouldn’t take my pooch anywhere but AJ’s. Owner Lisa has been a groomer all her life in the family business. It’s a very small and simple shop, and they do exactly what you want for a great price. (I brought in a photo the first time so we were on the same page.)
Groomer Stacey is our go-​to, poodles and yorkies are her specialty. She’s very sweet with my pooch, who loves to see her, and after around two and a half hours, $ 45 and a $ 5 tip, we always leave happy. The three other dog owners who I’ve turned on to the place are always happy too.
Most importantly, I’m relieved that Lisa and the two other groomers work in the same small room with the dogs at all times. In some shops, careless employees can step away and leave dogs unsupervised. An acquaintance’s dog died at the hands of a careless groomer, it was unbelievably tragic, and has made me really careful about safety.
Very happy here, give it a try. They give a $ 10 discount for first timers.

This place is the rudest. They did not want to groom my Maltese. It was to much for them. He made every excuse… I walked out.

Guess I should have paid attention to the one-​star reviews warning how rude these people were, as I got the same treatment.
Brought my dog in to get groomed after making an appointment. My dog is a stray that we adopted four months ago and we’d been bathing and combing him at home. She determined that the best thing was for him to get shaved as he had too many mats and she didn’t want to traumatize him at his first grooming. I paused and questioned her about having to shave him as the only solution, as I like my dog’s fur and understandably wasn’t too happy about losing all of it.
She then proceeded to turn into a total B***** and lectured me that she had over 20 years experience and that she knew what she was talking about and that if I didn’t like her recommendation I could go down the street and find another groomer. Before I could even respond, she said «Have a nice day,» and walked away, obviously having no interest in my business or in trying to make a new customer feel more welcome.
She was so incredibly rude and unnecessarily. If she had given me 10 seconds to consider what she was suggesting or had a more gentle approach, I probably would have agreed to go ahead and shave my dog but she had already made up my mind for me. There have to be more considerate groomers out there in the area. I’m sure she does know what she’d doing when it comes to grooming dogs. But when it comes to people skills, she hasn’t a clue.

I wanted to bring my Dog here because the previous place I used to take her has a rude owner (The Poodle Puff) and also because I read great things about this place so I called and asked if there was any room for today.
The girl who I was speaking with went to ask if there was any room, I guess she forgot to put the phone on hold/​mute because whoever she asked Loudly said «Well They can’t come whenever they want without an appointment» and then the girl proceeded to tell me «Sorry we have no room today» and just hung up on me. A simple «I’m sorry Miss we have no room and have a nice day» would of sufficed but no instead they prefer to be rude.
Wow what type of Customer service training did they get because if that’s how you treat your customers then forget about getting a cent out of me!

This place is awesome! Angel had a great time and I can tell that Lisa genuinely just loves types of dogs! Angel was very happy and left smelling fresh and clean, and with a bag of little biscuits :)
I love the atmosphere and vibe I get in this place ! It may be small, but its nice and cozy, and makes you feel comfortable leaving your doggy in such a welcoming place, unlike the corporate, cold and unfriendly grooming salons at Petco, that make you feel bad leaving your baby with people who just see your dog as a job they want to get over with.
They are also very caring and It is also VERY affordable and close to my home, I will only be going to AJ’s from now on, Angel seemed to really enjoy it :)

I feel like having a dog is such a weird concept. Like when aliens inevitably conquer our earth, they’ll be like WTF. You go to a prison or to a creepy mastermind to pick out a creature of your liking and at first hold them against their will until they get Stockholm Syndrome and begin to love you and depend on you completely?! And then you put ropes and collars around them to prevent them from being free and you train them to be your minions of lap, love, and/​or protection?!
Well, my answer to these aliens would be HELL YEA because they’re ADORABLE!!! I happen to have two of these enslaved minions and they’re the loves of my life.
I actually waited a few groomings to take place before reviewing AJ’s to make sure their grooming was consistently good no matter which groomer was available. And I can say that Lisa and her team are top notch!
It’s a very small operation. However, it’s not the size that matters, but the motion of the ocean. They’re very competent, friendly, great with people and dogs, and I always end up with a great cut even for the first groomings when I didn’t know how the mutts should’ve been groomed. Plus they have an endless supply of couture scarves and bows for my blonde GQ hunk-​dog and my stylish and beautiful superdogel.
More importantly, they’re affordable. For a full grooming, bath, brush, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning, nail cut, and anal gland expression, I pay between $ 35 for the simple dog and $ 45 for the slightly more complicated dog, both under 20 pounds and chihuahua mixes. Plus you get a $ 10 discount on your first visit with a new dog. Can’t beat it! I don’t know how they are with pure bred grooming which has specific standards, but for my pound mutts, they’re great.
Best yet, I never have an issue making an appointment and they’re always done in no more than 2 hours and 15 minutes in my experience, which is a perfect amount of errand time.
Glad I finally found a groomer I’m happy with!!! When those aliens see my enslaved minions, I guarantee they’ll be impressed by AJ’s work.

Love love love this little grooming spot for my Yorkie! I’ve been a client for at least 7 years! The staff is amazing and they’ve been in business forever! Never once have I had a bad experience. My dog always gets TLC and treats — great prices and fun accessories to browse… What’s one more sweater for my little angel?!
They brush his wee teeth, express his butt glands and clip his nails — amazing.
Plus… There is a tattoo parlor next door… I’m always tempted to get my first tattoo there while waiting for my dog to get groomed. One day…
