Fantastic place. Yes, this is a no-frills, old school bowling alley. If you’re looking for an arcade, this isn’t the place. But with a full bar, a jukebox, and an incredibly helpful staff, this is my preferred bowling alley.

My wife and I bowled here early on a Friday afternoon. It was fine. Average bowling alley, sorry excuse for an arcade. The bowling equipment were average. The prices seemed a bit steep. We each rented shoes and bowled two games and it was $ 25. Going to try out the other lane and review that too.

There are two bowling options in the«Greater Burlington Area». Coming from the Midwest, I find that to be very sad, but I digress. I have bowled at Champlain Lanes approximately once a month for over a year now and I don’t look to stop anytime soon. They do bowling right. They are small, locally owned, and while it isn’t all new and fancy like Spare Time, you go to Champlain Lanes to freaking bowl. They have a great jukebox that my friends play often and the staff is very helpful. My group just goes to have fun, and so Champlain is great since they have a bar and some food options also. The only caution I would say is that the bar is cash only, and is separate from the bowling. You can use credit/debit for bowling as long as you spend more than $ 10(which you do if you have 2 games and shoe rental). And they do have an ATM on site. All around great time!

This place gets 5 stars, 6 if I could. A couple years ago a buddy and I went out to Burlington to visit some friends and drunkenly wound up rolling a couple games here. The dj/jukebox/whatever was marvelous. I don’t remember throwing a ball the whole night, I only remember sliding across the approach screaming the lyrics to «Bohemian Rhapsody», «Back In Black» and«American Pie», and I’m the kind of guy that takes bowling seriously. They didn’t even get mad when I walked out with their shoes– Marvelously dorky shoes that I had to wear the rest of my stay in Vermont because I’d left mine on the lanes.
