I live in California. Heard this is the place to be when in south Brooklyn. The truffle pizza, beef carpaccio and the spicy pasta are a must have! The food and décor is perfect. So happy I checked this place out. Job well done.

Honestly, it’s very hard to understand the poor reviews. Emmons needed an Italian place like this and now it has something not only trendy but with solid food options as well. Authentic Italian? Maybe not. But the food is rather contemporary and tastes great! This restaurant is styled perfectly, has a great ambiance and is kept VERY well by the staff. This is Emmons Ave. not Park Ave., and for that reason 4 stars is very appropriate.

What a great place! I’ve been here twice already, first time with friends and second time with family. Everyone loved it! The restaurant has a great atmosphere, very warmly decorated, and very clean. The service is also great as the waitress and waiter I had were very polite. The food was also amazing and super delicious! Everything is freshly made and all the pizzas I’ve tried were absolutely fantastic! I also loved their salads(although they should add more goat cheese to their almond/beet/goat cheese salad) Definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a nice place to have some good pizza and other dishes as their menu also includes a variety of other selections such as burgers and pasta. This place is a bit pricy but worth it for a nice lunch or dinner!

So went for the first time to try it out see what the whole hype is about. Let’s make it short and sweet I’m curious as to what the hype is? I ordered the chicken parm and as soon as I bit into it it tasted like rubber as if it was re microwaved over and over again. I asked them to take it back and when it returned it tastes exactly the same. I honestly have up. The food is absolutely disgusting and over priced. So many many other better restaurants to go to on this strip.

We went there a few months ago. I forgot to write the review but recent discussion of this place on Facebook reminded me of a bad experience we had there. We ordered octopus and lobster ravioli for appetizer, black angus burger and chicken breast for the main course. Didn’t like anything. Ravioli were tasteless, chicken — very dry. Service was as bad as was food. For desert we ordered Nutela pizza. Pizza was very good. The amount of Nutella and fruits was perfect. We loved it. Overall experience — bad. Wouldn’t go there again. (I marked 2 stars instead of 1 because pizza was really good)

Tonight was my second time at Next Door and both times were excellent. Perfect if you’re looking for a cute trendy atmosphere without going too far from home. I highly recommend getting the mushroom & truffle pizza, lobster ravioli, & Nutella pizza for dessert.

Dined here last night part of a party of 14. The service was excellent the staff was attentive and catered to our every need. Usually service lacks in most places when trying to serve 14 people but not at Next Door. The good was excellent as well. We had all the appetizers and they were great. The burrata and beef carpaccio was excellent. I loved the truffle pizza and the Margarita. For main I had the bronzino and it was cooked to perfection the sauce it was in was light and complimented the fish well. For dessert I really enjoyed the Nutella pizza. The atmosphere was pleasant and the ambience was very trendy. Next Door is a gem in the south brooklyn area. Overall I give this place 5 stars everything I had was very tasty and I surely will return.

I’ve been here a few times in the evenings with family since the place opened, but a couple of weeks ago I came in for lunch on my own. I had pasta with veal ragu and a glass of pinot grigio. Everything arrived without any delays. The pasta was nice and hot. The environment provided by the wide open space makes you feel like you can dine in the middle of the room, yet be alone with your thoughts as I had wanted to be that day. The waiter came by just enough — I never needed anything as he always had everything taken care of, and yet he wasn’t hovering over me every few seconds either. This was a great dining experience. Make sure to ask about specials and off — menu items. There are a lot of good options they will happily suggest.

The stress that comes along with planning a large event is typically unavoidable– unless you throw your event at Next Door. From the moment I booked my event with them for the upstairs room, the planning was a breeze! They worked with me and were so accommodating to all of my requests. The food was perfect, some of the favorites were the outstanding truffle pizza(yes! The pizza lived up to the hype discussed by the other reviews), the spicy pasta, and the fresh selections from the raw bar. My event was such a hit with my guests that I cannot wait to plan my next event with Next Door. It is a true treasure for the neighborhood!

I’ve been here a few times with my wife, and have come to the conclusion that they are just ok, even though we’ve given them chance after chance and we wanted them to succeed to add needed variety to the row of eateries on Emmons Avenue. However, each time we come we get a completely different experience and that’s just weird in a bad way. There is a distinction between«eating out» and«dining out» that I don’t think this place and its staff gets. For example, our waiter did not tell us about the specials, the prosecco was flat — like it was from a bottle that was opened yesterday, didn’t get a spoon with my pasta dish — and no I didn’t order the ravioli, wasn’t offered cheese with my pasta dish, and the waiter came by 2 minutes after the entrees arrived to ask how we were doing but pretty much left us alone the rest of the time. The food was average. The tagliatelle was over cooked, the eggplant parm starter had a fishy taste, and the veggie flat bread was uninspiring. For a place that’s opened where it is, among lots of competition, this is not encouraging. In the end, I left wondering if the name of the restaurant was meant to inspire diners, or suggest diners look«next door». For Italian food on Emmons, I think I will do just that next time, look next door and go to il Fornetto down the road.

Okay, I don’t know what the bad reviews are all about, because every time I come here I leave full and happy. Again, the restaurant is always clean, open and I just noticed, they have fresh basil growing in the back! The waiters are great, mine didn’t know what the specials were and kind of looked at my friend and I as if we had 4 heads when we asked for the Salmon Tartare, but another waiter(I wish I got his name, because he is an excellent waiter) assisted us and informed our waiter of what it was. The salmon tartare was amazing, mixed in with some avocado and some sort of light dressing which was slightly spicy and gave it an intricate flavor. I got my staple, a salmon burger, which is always amazing. My friend got their regular burger which he enjoyed very much. The owner always stops by ATLEASTTWICE to the table to make sure everything’s okay. This restaurant definitely needs more recognition because it’s delicious, very well priced, and the owner knows what he’s doing.

Visited this establishment Friday night with friends and family. Waiters were very inviting the décor is great and surprisingly the prices were very reasonable. Started with the calamari and the margarita pizza which were phenomenal. Pizza had a crispy crust with soft cheese that melts in your mouth. Main entrée was the beef burger one of the best burgers in town. Great place you won’t regret it!

Came here with my wife and baby. The Italian food is very good. The atmosphere is that of a restaurant/lounge. We had a great dinner with white wine. I recommend this place for anyone who is retired of Turkish food on Emmons avenue. A++

This place is so nice! It’s newly open right on emmons. It has floor to ceiling accordion doors that open up the front of the restaurant to make outdoor seating. The restaurant itself has a modern lofty feel to it. We had a great experience here. We had ordered the calamari and a margarita pizza. Both were Cooked well. The staff was friendly and attentive. Only slip up was that they confused our order and sent us the funghi(mushroom and onion) pizza. Once we pointed out the mistake they promptly fixed the order, and the pizza was worth the wait. The crust was perfect consistency, with great sauce. Will definitely be returning. Next time with a bigger appetite so that I can try some more items.

Pizza is not bad, salads are OK, everything is very simply made. The bartender was missing so we instructed the waiter how to make a vodka martini, but other than that everything was OK. The wine selection not bad. The best part about this place to me is the location.

Finger-licking good! Next Door is a my favorite Brooklyn Italian Restaurant! I’m not saying it’s the best but it’s the best. Wild and imaginative pizzas that will have you salivating! Every time I’m here, I try something new. Ask for specials and you won’t be disappointed… I have a private event scheduled at the end of August so will post pics. Okay, I’m officially hungry and heading over.

I seriously couldn’t be happier at this place. Been here three times already, I haven’t eaten anything that wasn’t amazing. The truffle pizza I’ve ordered to go; the Nutella pizza is unique, the ragu is some of the best I’ve tasted outside of Italy. Must go in the area!

Food was not too great. They charge $ 7 for side order which was the size of a quarter. Asked for chicken inside my pasta and the waiter looked at me like I had 6 heads. Pricey for no reason. Roll n Roaster is even better. They trying to hard here. It’s Brooklyn not Manhattan, change your menu.
