So I left a bad review on my last message for west Seattle auto works about my trunk issue. On ¹⁄₃₀ went to prep up the car, so I can take it back to the shop on ²⁄₄. So I gave it another shot on fixing myself. Now it works properly. I disconnected the battery when I stored it since September. So by disconnecting the battery it reset the car electronics so it gave the electronic trunk to work. Sorry for the bad review auto works you guys did awesome work for diagnosing the problem.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. Honest, wonderful guys that go out of their way to fit you in when you are having a car catastrophe, and make sure when you don’t need a part they won’t charge you. For any person worried about a mechanic that will scam you, these guys honestly won’t! I’ve been going there over a year and could not be happier! I recommend them to anyone.

I recently took my Jetta to West Seattle Autoworks to have the clutch repaired and was extremely happy with the level of service. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and knowledgeable and Todd even took the extra time to show me my old clutch and explain why it had failed. The price they quoted for the work seemed very fair and they got my car repaired and back on the road in a timely manner. My experience with them was great and I’d highly recommend them!

I have been meaning to update this review — shortly after I wrote my original (maybe a week+) my car began to act up again. I called the next morning to let them know I was experiencing the same issue as before and I was able to drop it off within the hour and had it back the same day by 5PM (they provided a warranty on the parts due to the knowledge that some can be faulty, so it was switched out).
I have not had any issues since and am still thankful I went to West Seattle Autoworks from the start!

Called there to just see about getting a quote, or at least talk to someone. The moment they answered the phone to the moment they hung up they made me feel like they did not have time for me, or that they were interested in my business.

Todd and Chris the owners are the nicest guys. In fact, everyone here is great, including Sam who schedules and runs the front desk. I completely trust them and that is often hard to come by when it comes to having autos repaired. Having had so many bad experiences with other shops and dealers, these guys are refreshing. I now won’t go anywhere else. They stand behind their work and when I’ve had a problem reoccur because of a bad part, they’ve covered the repair for free and stand by their warranty.

Had our 2002 PT Cruiser in here for major work. I know enough about cars, but it’s not my everyday profession, and I don’t have time to goof round throwing parts at what might be. Todd was very professional and up front with my cars problems. This PT has 108k miles on her and has been our baby since driving out of the showroom Super Bowl Sunday back in 2002. I scheduled the work online, and was emailed a reminder of date and time to bring her in. My first question was: how long until our car dies? My second question was: why is the cooling system gurgling after shutdown? Todd and his team went through the car top to bottom as I requested. He found a blown head gasket, no fun. He found a laundry list of todo’s. The price was very, and I mean very reasonable for all the work. Now we have our PT back in good working order with a 2 year or 24k mile warranty on the work including 1 year of roadside assistance, that’s awesome — who does that? I’m happy to say I have a new auto mechanic, I’m willing to share, be nice to them!

Take your car here. Todd, Sam, Chris and the gang are honest, hardworking and charge a fair price. They’ll tell you what’s wrong, and give you their best and won’t gouge you. I’ve been going here for 3 or 4 years now with both domestic and foreign vehicles and their work is top-​notch.

Have been driving around for a few months leaking oil. Knew the issue was not going to be kind to my wallet, but more scary was taking my car to someplace that might not do the job right and force me into something I’m trying to avoid right now… a car payment.
Based on the universally positive reviews for WSAw, I made arrangements to bring my car in. Exchanged emails with Todd and got an idea of what to expect. They are busy, so took a bit of time to get on the calendar.
I just got my car back and was really impressed by the whole crew in the shop. Nice guys who want to do good work and please the customer. Amazing the number of businesses that don’t really grasp this concept. These guys are welcoming and it is a pleasure to do business with them. Greatly appreciated Jesse speaking to me on the phone while they had the car to explain what was going on and when he didn’t know, he checked with the tech and called me back with answers.
Have a small to do list of other things my car might need in the future, will keep these guys in mind for future work so I can keep going down the road worry free.

Nothing but great things to say. My battery died right across the street from the shop, and the mechanic walked over and jumped the car before taking it back to the shop and replacing the battery quickly! The employees were thorough and prompt. Also, as a single woman I didn’t feel at all swindled or taken advantage of. I will take my vehicle back in the future!

What a bunch of great people! I worked with Jesse and Sam on the repair of my Land Rover. Don’t take your car to a Land Rover dealer to get it fix, take it to them. They know just as much as the dealer if not more and they will charge fair prices. WS Autoworks couldn’t find the new or rebuilt replacement part in the whole USA so they had to find a used part. At that point, they were willing to work with me in getting the used part (which saved me $$) from Oregon which added extra days to repair. They didn’t charge me for letting my car stay there. The only reason why I didn’t give them 5 star is that they were very busy so it took a little bit longer between getting the part and getting the car in the garage. I’m guessing they are so busy because of their awesome Unilocal scores (which are deserving). If you can wait, it’s worth it!

Fair prices for great work, I wouldn’t trust my family’s cars to anyone else! Having a great mechanic you can trust is a really a minor miracle! No overcharging, no mysterious new problems with my car just knowledgeable guys. Highly recommend this place.

These guys are great. Very knowledgeable, customer service oriented and so nice! I’ve experimented with several other auto-​shops and these guys are the best, they’ve done a great job with my Audi. They’ve been able to diagnose and fix my car when other shops could not then later, when a part was defective they replaced it at no cost even though it was labor intensive to do so. They are building a strong reputation making it a little more difficult to get an appointment, but they are worth the wait!

I’ve known Chris for years and he has always been a chivalrous guy. He and the team at West Seattle Autoworks are the firefighters of the auto business. They are honest, hardworking, fast, reliable and won’t inflate costs! What more can you ask for? You will not be disappointing if you stop in! They pump through a good 15+ cars a day! All of this with a smile too! Love these guys! :)

If you are looking for an honest mechanic that is concerned about keeping customers coming back then go to these guys. They are friendly and they go above and beyond what I have dealt with at other shops.
I called them after I had a terrible unsatisfying experience at Hi Line Auto Electric and I spoke to Todd and I told him what I needed done.(.He was very professional and didn’t talk negatively about the other place, and I thought that was great and not desperate for customers.) He called me back after checking on prices and gave me a much lower quote on a power steering line and asked me to bring my car by just to make sure it was the right part to order. When I stopped by Todd came out and greeted me and checked and then scheduled an appointment once the part came in. This is an extremely busy place but he accommodated me as best as he could. I also told him that my cord was broken from my washer fluid and he ran inside and got some cord and fixed it for me free of charge.
I dropped my car off today and Todd told me my car would be done at 2.00 PM. Sam called me at 1:30 PM and told me my car was ready and he mentioned that he noticed my car was in need of an oil change, which is true but the price was a bit high so I said no at first but changed my mind and I called him back around 2:10 and told him I had to be in Bellevue by 3:30 and he said no problem that it would be ready at 2:45, I was so impressed by this.
When I picked up my car Chris told me that there was a nail in one of the tires and he fixed it for free, for free can you believe it? Nothing is free these days.
My steering issue is now fixed and doesn’t make any noise, I will be coming back to West Seattle Autoworks in the future for any car repairs and will recommend them to my friends and family!

I don’t see at this point how I can give them any other rating. I was facing $ 70.00 towing charges and I called them just to see if they could work on it, should I end up towing it there. I started to explain the problem and he asked where I was. I tell him and he says; «Oh i will come over with some tools.»
Wow I’m in shock… okay he comes over and fixes it in like two seconds. Dang I’m happy. So what do I owe you? nothing Have a great Day he says. Well yeah I am thanks to you. So 5 Stars and future business to West Seattle Autoworks. I keep running into nice people on 35^th Ave SW hmmmm

I really wanted to rate these guys higher since they are close by my house and I was looking for a local mechanic that I could rely on. We purchased a used SUV that ended up being a huge piece of crap so we took it to them to get an assessment of what needed to be fixed. They came back with a list that was about $ 4000 in total, which I couldn’t do in one shot. I had them fix a fan blade and serpentine belt which they charged almost $ 700 for. I wanted to do one other smaller repair on the doors before the big repair but when I asked them what that would cost they told me «It’s included in the main quote amount». He wouldn’t break it out for me so I could do one or two things at a time.
The main repair was going to cost about $ 2700. Before I did that my neighbor mentioned he has a friend that runs a shop down in Burien and to give him a try. I did, and was very glad for it. That $ 2700 job ended up really only costing about $ 1500. The main part that WSA was going to charge me $ 900 for only cost $ 300. It makes me wish I had not done the fan blade and belt because I think I got royally overcharged.
On the plus side, they did diagnose just about everything that was wrong with the car and they did it correctly. Also, they were very nice. The negative, and it’s a huge negative, is that their prices were so incredibly overinflated that I don’t think I can ever go back there. I totally get that they will have a mark-​up on parts, because they are a business and businesses need to make money, but 300%??? That’s crazy. On top of that their labor charge is something like $ 110 an hour. I will still be on the lookout for a repair shop closer than Burien as I don’t think I have found it just yet.

I cannot tell you how pleasant it is to be able to have good quality service. I was first introduced to West Seattle Auto works one day when another shop was too busy. I was so pleased with the service that I received that day that I have been back ever since. Chris is amazing, he is friendly and very personable; he goes way above and beyond to make you smile… he surely smiles all the time. My most recent experience was yesterday when I dropped by to ask Chris for a good time within the next couple of days to bring my car in to fix a slow-​leak in one of my tires. Now, Chris had just sat down in another car and started the engine; I do not know if he was about to leave or just beginning to work on the car but he said «Why don’t I just look at it now?» I was shocked! Chris not only looked at the nail but repaired the leak all at no charge as he offered up a warm smile.
Another experience that I had was a few weeks ago when I came in because I had a flat tire and several of the lug nuts were stripped when the kind strangers downtown assisted in putting on the spare. I had a time constraint and could not wait until later that afternoon for a new tire, so Chris shopped around for the best tire deal for me and gave me thorough directions on how to get there. After getting back in from the tire place, I called Chris back to thank him once again for seeing me on such a short notice and also for working on the car. I told him that I was told I needed new struts; Chris immediately said «Do not waste your money on struts, you don’t need them but don’t worry, I will look at it the next time you bring your car in» I was thrilled that I did not have to spend that $ 600 that the tire place quoted me.
West Seattle Auto works will not take you to the bank, they will tell you exactly what the problem is and if they can find you a deal… Chris has always gone the extra mile for me and he actually took the time to know my name… not just the car that I drive.

Wow what a find. Don’t hesitate to bring your car into this shop. Ask for Chris Christensen, I can’t bestow enough praise upon him and how much I appreciate how he helped me with my car. Nice Nice guy. I will be back and I will constantly refer him and this shop. Oh, and utilize their website, it’s good.
