Via Radiology

Just to be clear up front — I am writing this review about their phone customer service, not the actual practices of the clinic.
I was completely turned off of this place when I called and was placed on hold for 15 – 20 minutes (3 times today, for a total of over 45 minutes — and still have not managed to reach a human being and make an appointment). The worst part is that while I was on hold, I had to listen to a litany of ‘ads’ for their services — talking about various diseases like breast cancer, lung cancer, joint/​tendon/​ligament problems, etc., and then also a nice dose of talking about radiation exposure. The whole point, I believe, was to tell people that Via works to reduce radiation exposure, and that they screen for various diseases, but as I sat on the phone, already dreading the procedure I had called to schedule, all I heard was ‘you might have breast cancer! lung cancer! pulled ligaments! be exposed to radiation!’ (punctuated by pretty atrocious music, I might add). I don’t consider myself to be overly anxious about any of this stuff, but it was enough to make me never want to call them again.

I went for my first trimester dating and nuchal ultrasound… they managed to suck all the joy out of the experience.
Let’s start with setting an appointment. It took four calls and over two weeks to get an appointment. 3 of those 4 calls were exasperating thanks to a rather rude and unprofessional phone scheduler. My midwife had to fax the referral three times (including a copy to me so I know it wasn’t a mistake on her end). They always promised to call back after receiving the referral and never followed through with it. Finally, on the last call I got a different woman who was polite and helpful. She explained that they had the referral but needed to enter my midwife into their system. She put me on hold and took care of it right away instead of promising to call back and not following through as the others had done. I wish I’d thought to take their names.
Then the radiologist, I believe her name was Manu, was rushed and grumpy. She seemed annoyed that there were human beings in the room distracting her from her machine. I’d received instructions beforehand to drink lots of water and not pee before the procedure. Apparently, those instructions were wrong and she was irritated that my bladder was full and I’d need to take five minutes to go empty it. We got to listen to the baby’s heartbeat for a whole five seconds. She explained almost nothing to us during and only interacted with me at all to tell me to cough.
She printed out a few prints for us, which was nice, but didn’t tell us anything about the baby –whether it looked healthy or there were any obvious problems. Perhaps that’s standard procedure, and they need time before they’re allowed to say anything, I don’t know. But I’d been looking forward to the experience and was totally put off by the time we left that office.
I’m going to ask my midwife to refer me to a different radiologist in the future.

Called to make an appointment today and the woman on the phone began the process of making said appointment. When she began asking me the same questions three times in a row, I politely asked her if she wanted me to scan and email the referral to her. She responded with «there is no need to be rude.» When I asked her how I was being rude, she got escalated and said that she was not going to make an appointment for me. When I asked to speak with her manager, she said «shes on a conference call but I’ll have her call you» and then promptly hung up on me. No thanks to this place.

I’ve been here a handful of times now over the past 2 years and every time has been better than I expected.
The waiting room is always very clean and the staff at the front desk friendly and helpful.
Every technician I’ve seen has gone out of their way to help me feel comfortable and explained thoroughly how the tests would go.
I would definitely recommend using them.

I sought medical treatment for my back to stop the pain. The pain was diagnosed and I was informed about the results only after having to write a letter to Via Radiology and the DR who diagnosed the pain after 9 days without hearing from anybody. The medical staff was very competent and courteous through the 3 appointments that I had. The administrative staff neglected to contact one of the three representatives of the 3 medical insurance plans that I have and showed them. In their haste they turned my account over to a collection agency that was resolved after I wrote to the agency and informed Via Radiology that they did not follow through on their billing. After everything was done including the medical treatment, it failed to alleviate the back pain.

Wow I seriously love the facilities here! When I walked in to Via Radiology, I was amazed at how everything looked so clean and modern. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and there is free WiFi in the lobby while I was waiting.
I might sound a little crazy but it felt like I was at a spa rather than a medical facility! The bathroom was clean and literally spotless. The changing rooms had lockers for us to put away our belongings so that we can change into scrubs for the procedures.
Honestly I can’t think of anything bad to say about this place. The technicians and doctors were all very professional and made me feel like I was taken care of instead of just a person they had to deal with. Thanks Via Radiology!

The staff and doctors at Via exceed my expectations. The technicians were all very knowledgeable and kind. They explained everything very clearly and made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Jackson was fantastic. Easy to talk to and made me very comfortable. Fantastic bedside manner.

I went to Via Vascular, which is in the same building and affilited with Via Radiology. When I’d called to make an appointment, the office staff were wonderful. I then moved my appointment and they were helpful.
I had no wait time when I arrived and the nurse and doctor were thorough in speaking with me about my medical history and current concerns.
The appointment took almost exactly the length of time they’d promised, and I recommend Via Vascular highly.
