Utopia Frozen Yogurt

I stopped here on my way thru town, countless times. Uwajimaya is losing here too.
The service was always GOOD, and, whereas I had favorite flavors, I’m always up for trying new ones. Sorry they’re gone. Come back! Come back!

So sad to hear this place has closed down. It was truly the best, most unique yogurt experience you could get in Seattle. It cost a little extra because it was Greek yogurt based, and it was just… perfect. So smooth, so perfectly tart and sweet. Only place I’ve ever seen black sesame flavor. Truly it is a sad day to say goodbye to the greatest froyo in the city. :(I am pouring one out for you, Utopia…

I wish this was a lot better since this across the street from my home but, the fact that I will drive to Yogurtland on Capitol Hill than eat here is probably a concern to me. The workers are aways nice here but, the Yogurt is just not good. It is almost chalky and the selection is severely limited even though they have a large chart of flavors you can’t have. The prices are decent and I will get something if I am very lazy.

It’s non-​fat yogurt with the «tangy sour» from the yeast. If you understand & appreciate Greek yogurt, then you’ll love it. My kids love the regular plain with 1 topping and I like the mango flavor.

This place has toppings and pomegranate flavored frozen yogurt that reminds me of red mango. Their spin on the already saturated froyo market is that their frozen yogurt is Greek-​style yogurt. While I was able to taste the difference from the more creamy and sweet kind, the difference was subtle. Not bad for a food court yogurt place but doesn’t seem to be unique enough for it to stand out yet.

I love this little fro-​yo kiosk in Uwajimaya. Love it. I probably hit them up once a week to at least ~sample~ their ever rotating flavors. The bad news is I usually end up with a cup after tasting whatever odd flavor they have for the week.
My personal favorite so far? Avocado. It is the bees knees, especially with some fresh strawberries and granola thrown in! A-​yum yum. A note about this fro-​yo — this is the real deal. It is frozen YOGURT. So don’t be expecting some overly sweetened TCBY type junk froyo. This is tart and lovely and super refreshing! Also — the topping options here are super fun. I mean, they have your standard fruit and candies, but you can add baby little mochis if you want!
It’s yummy, it’s cold… it’s a good treat to have before or after any shopping you want to do at Uwajimaya. Go get yourself some.

They make their frozen yogurt out of Fage greek yogurt. It’s true! My friend saw them carting it in with her own two eyes. No wonder it tastes so creamy and good. Ah greek frozen yogurt, you make me soo happy~

One of my favorite froyo shops in the Seattle area, but it really depends on the flavors they’re serving at that moment. I love all of their flavors, none of them tastes bad, but sometimes some flavors come out for a several times in a short period… which just makes me get bored:(

Just came here on their first «Secrets» day. Basically what secret is is if you click «Like» on their facebook page, they’ll announce a «secret» every week, and the previous monday was the Secret Size upgrade day.
I feel so special being able to say, «Small Froyo w/​a mix of Pomegranate and original, cough secret size.»
Anyways, so I got a medium froyo for $ 2.50. YAY!

People don’t believe me to be the froyo fanatic that I am, and it’s understandable why — an entire year and a half passed after moving here before my first taste of Seattle froyo. Much of this had to do with a silly fear that froyo here would pale in comparison next to Cali froyo. Thanks to the good folks at Groupon, Utopia had the honor of being my first.
And it’s a good thing that I much prefer tart froyo over plain sweet froyo, because Utopia makes theirs with the supposedly healthier, and much more tart, Greek yogurt. This works out wonderfully for plain and fruit flavors, but meshes oddly with typically sweet flavors like caramel or black sesame. Texture can vary between flavors, with most being smooth and creamy, but with some fruit flavors being icy, or even borderline watery.
Topping selection is smaller than you’d see at places like Yogurtland, but still fairly reasonable with around 15 – 20 choices, including various grains (their granola is super tasty), nuts, and fruits (which have been fairly fresh on every occasion I’ve visited).
At $ 3.89 for a small with one topping, they’re definitely pricier than many (if not all) of the by-​the-​ounce places in California, but at least they’re generous with both the froyo and the toppings they serve. Not to mention the buy 10 get 1 small free stamp card they have.

You scream, i scream, we all scream for froyo!
This place is a solid frozen yogurt place. This has been the asian craze for the last couple years. This place has been here awhile and i dont think there is another one in the International District area.
The flavors are good and the toppings plentiful. The girls working behind the counter are nice and usually theres no line.
The only gripe is that i find this place a little pricier than the other froyos ive had around. Good stuff nonetheless.

So I had taken Josh — man living on nothing but Groupons for year to Paseo’s for lunch, in exchange he brought me and my girls here for dessert.
This place is very similar to my local spot, Red Mango, so I knew what to expect. The fresh fruit options here were less than I was used to, but I was pleased to see pecans.
The frozen yogurt was delicious and the location right in Uwajimaya convenient for my shopping needs.

Stamp cards. Creamy, tasty yogurt. Sweet and tart. Delicious.
Go there if you can. Again, too lazy too finish. The lady was nice, and its kinda strangley placed, but its delicious and sooo worth it :)

Every single time I go to Uwajimaya I make certain I visit Utopia. It seems there is a trend where these places are popping up in Seattle like wildfire! This place is unique as they rotate their flavors on a weekly basis. Each time I visit, I treat myself to a different flavor each time… just some of the flavors I remember them having include peanut butter, taro, green tea, pomegranate, banana; they also give you a good dose of topping to go with that if you choose and I usually just get some type of crunchy add-​ons cuz that’s how I roll (sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t!). The fact that they use grade A non fat greek yogurt with active cultures makes this dessert both a much much lower calorie alternative to ice cream and it helps your digestive system.
To me, the sweetness, tartness and overall taste reminds me of the old way Vietnamese used to just cook yogurt themselves. When I was a child, my mother would combine condensed milk and boiling water together and mix it with some plain yogurt (the culture)… She would put the mix into containers and «let them set» in an hot environment (hot water bath for the cups), let them cool and pop them into the refrigerator! You get a homemade yogurt that is just as good as Utopia… well, kind of. Viet peeps reading this know what I am talking about!

What’s the rave about Greek frozen yogurt?! I did my research and learned from experience. This is like the healthier alternative to soft serve ice cream! However, the taste is light and not as rich as ice cream, but I love it! And Utopia has become my favorite spot to get it!
I have made it my mission to try all the flavors that they have to offer. So far, I have tried the regular, honeydew, black sesame, peach, chocolate raspberry, and… my ultimate favorite at the moment, AVOCADO LIME! It seems that they rotate their flavors every week and only have four available at a time. One of the flavors is always going to be plain for the non-​adventurous, but the server is so cute and sweet and will let you try samples if you want to try the flavors out first before ordering.
For a little less than $ 4, I can get a small cup of frozen yogurt with a mochi topping. And this isn’t like other frozen yogurt joints where they only «line» your cup with frozen yogurt instead of filling it up — yes, even in the middle! Sometimes this is all I eat for lunch, but don’t judge! It’s so yummy in my tummy and I really can’t get enough of it!

This frozen yogurt is made with Greek yogurt, making it creamier and less watery than other frozen yogurts. The flavors are bold, which means there is no need to add fancy toppings. They have four daily flavor options. When I went they had pomegranate, choc rasp, bilberry and original. The bilberry is the best (a cousin of blueberry). The portions are larger than other yogurt joints, making it more affordable.

I love creamy, almost ice cream like yogurt. It’s sweet with a little bit of tang. I was never much for mixing in toppings and the like, but it’s cheap, and delicious. Great in the summer time especially.
Alot of people here say it’s on par or not as good as Red Mango. I have to disagree. I’ve had Red Mango in Southcenter a few times before realizing Utopia was better, and here’s why…
Red Mango skimps you on the middle of the cup (there’s a hole in the middle, where more yogurt could be occupying) and charges you more. I don’t buy it anymore because I feel like I’m getting less than what I pay for.

I have waited SO long for this day.
Soooooo, after I got Mitzie’s message, I dropped everything I was doing and headed over.
In less than 10 minutes, I was down in the International District happily devouring Seattle’s latest tangy frozen yogurt.
And, yes. I’ll be back.
